You can tell from the window that the village you passed through did not really show signs of the life the roads where dark and gray. You could hear crying from a couple of different points in the road and then what sounded like squeaking from something other than the wagons but that was it.
Dink sits looks around mumbling something to him self, if ones listens to him it seems he is trying to Ask Mystra what is wrong with this forsaken land. As Dink does this he is also doing his morning bathing ritual (spong bath) and then he tends to his gear for any repairs that need to be made.
As you travel past the gallows you hear a creaking noise behind you, coming from the gallows. Where there was nothing before now hangs a lifeless, gray body. The breeze turns the hanged figure slowly, so that it can fix its dead eyes upon you all in the wagon.
The road gradually disappears and is replaced by a twisted, muddy path through the trees. Deep ruts in the earth are evidence of the comings and goings of wagons.
The canopy of mist and branches suddenly gives way to black clouds boiling far above. There is a clearing here, next to a river that widens to form a small lake several hundred feet across. Five colorful round tents, each ten feet in diameter, are pitched outside a ring of four barrel-topped wagons. A much larger tent stands near the shore of the lake, its sagging form lit from within. Near this tent, eight unbridled horses drink from the river.
The mournful strains of an accordion clash with the singing of several brightly clad figures around bonfire. A footpath continues beyond this encampment, meandering north between the river and the forest’s edge.
Stanimir leaves you and walks towards the back of the camp. You are greeted by multiple people beckoning you to come and sit by the fire for a spell and hear another tale.
Manneo - After exiting the wagon he looks over at the group around the bonfire and addressing his companions says, "What is this? Another ***** camp? Seems to be an awful lot of them lately".
Skorn looks around, taking in everything. He says to Manneo in a low voice, And seems to be the only living things around, so far. I do not trust them, not in the least, but they at least have not been antagonistic yet. He clears his throat and steps forward. Thank you for your hospitality. Where is Madame Eva?

One of the camp members say " Oh yes, Madam Eva fortold you would be coming, please sit for a while she is not yet ready. Have some wine and listen to our tale"
Manneo - Not being so used to being around people for such a prolonged time he forgot how many niceties would be necessary when dealing with people, but he is trying to change himself and takes a deep breath feeling the air fill his lungs concentrating on how it fills the space and slowly lets it out enjoying the sensation of it passing over his lips while hearing the others speak and says, "Thank you for the offering of wine and if you don't mind I have been sitting for some time now and I too would prefer to stand, with your permission?"
Dink sits his shield curve side down, then he balances him self on the top of it, with a grin he enters his shell, then one foot pops out and he starts slowly spining like a top on his shield.
A mighty wizard came to this land over a year ago. I remember him like it was yesterday. He stood exactly where you’re standing. A very charismatic man, he was. He thought he could rally the people of Barovia against the devil Strahd. He stirred them with thoughts of revolt and bore them to the castle en masse. “When the vampire appeared, the wizard’s peasant army fled in terror. A few stood their ground and were never seen again.
“The wizard and the vampire cast spells at each other. Their battle flew from the courtyards of Ravenloft to a precipice overlooking the falls. I saw the battle with my own eyes. Thunder shook the mountainside, and great rocks tumbled down upon the wizard, yet by his magic he survived. Lightning from the heavens struck the wizard, and again he stood his ground. But when the devil Strahd fell upon him, the wizard’s magic couldn’t save him. I saw him thrown a thousand feet to his death. I climbed down to the river to search for the wizard’s body, to see if, you know, he had anything of value, but the River Ivlis had already spirited him away.”
Manneo - Seeing the spread of food Manneo realizes that he hasn't eaten in some time, but something seems amiss for as they were going through the town and roads that they traveled on inside of the wagon he never once saw a single boar...yet here one lay with all of the trimmings. He holds the wine that was offered in his hand close to his chest, but chooses to not partake in liquid thinking, "I took what was offered, which should be polite enough in return...there is no way I am drinking or eating anything offered for it all seems amiss." , He stays silent waiting to see if any of the rest of the group has any of the same issues with what has been presented to them while listening to the story.
Manneo - Attempting to look out of a window to see what the sights show Manneo wonders who lives in such a place?
