With but a passing thought, Tefkae sends Mr. Pepper to follow after the guards. Unseen, if at all possible, and with instructions to only observe and stay out of sight as much as possible. Though if it sees one fall, or if inference might spare the life of a guard/civilian, it is to act accordingly to try and stop the event. Tefkae visibly remains unchanged, and only paid the smallest apparent heed to the alert before ultimately returning to listen and observing for the time being.

Sailor quietens down after Victoria takes hold of the pup, stroking it and reassuring it.
"Many a question you present, Master Ironmight." The mayor said calmly, pouring additional cups of tea for those who want them. "If we had a full identity of the creatures within the mists and their habits we would not have to send the guards in a hurry to aid, more have them preemptively safeguarding in preparation for their attacks." The mayor then takes another sip of his hot drink.
"You seem quite calm for some sort of monster outbreak in your town." Obaysch huffs, putting his empty teacup down.
"It is my job to remain calm, even in the most deadly of situations." The mayor retorts in his passive manner. "If one is to lead, they must keep calm and collected at all times, even when major threats are at their doorstep, be they creatures in the mists, or strangers who come from beyond there. I feel it is my turn to ask you all some questions, first is what do you want to do now you our in my village? The folk here are simple and hard working, but there is not much of worth to pillage for."

Zack remains quiet and seated. He did not drink, not because he didn't like this drink, rather he quite liked it, but because he didn't trust the mayor enough. Still he did want some despite refusing politely to drink. He mentally prepares an answer to the mayors question but despite his above average skills in persuasion, he was too passive to come forward and answer directly. Instead he just waits for others to do the talking instead.
"Lady Victoria is correct Mayor, we do not have such intentions. Now I do not speak for the group as a whole or in any capacity as a leader, but with that said, Perhaps there is something we as a group can offer in exchange for some temporary shelter and supplies to fix our ship." Ankor remains standing in the room behind the group who has taken a seat. "If there is something I can do now to help your guards, to be of assistance, A show of good faith if you will."

The tressym silently leaves Eight-Bit's company and follows the guards out of the house, narrowly slipping out in time before the door shuts.
"Okay, men." A seventh guard whom the party hadn't met before states, this one is a notably burlier man than the other guards. He, unlike the others, wields a fine looking longsword and small shield, with some knives strapped to his belt, too. "This way, hurry." The guards begin to hustle as Mr. Pepper flies after them, keeping close enough to not get lost in the higher parts of the mist, but not too close as to draw attention. However, after getting a little further from the house, the connection between caster and familiar becomes strained, no longer being able to telepathically or sensually communicate with one another.
"If you wish to assist the guards then I suggest you hurry." The mayor mentions, keeping comfortable in his seat. "They are headed towards the blacksmith's, you will find it if you follow the road back towards town and turn left before reaching the chapel." He takes another sip of tea.
"Hmm..." Captain Obaysch brushes his hand on his chin. "Well, I'm not one to put my crew at unnecessary risk. However, if it means trade for the repair goods we need..." He looks to the group.
(Up to you if you pursue after the guards to aid in facing of this "creature" they mentioned.)
Zack speaks for the first time since introducing himself to the Mayor at the start of the meeting. He simply says, "I'm doing whatever the party's doing." With that short statement, Zack clams up again and remains seated. He continues doing what he was doing all this time: looking around at each member of the party periodically between conversation.
"I don't know, we are still pretty exhausted." Victoria mentions to the others. " But if we have to, then I suppose we should leave now, unless anyone else has any questions."
As Captain Obaysch finishes his statement, Ankor turns and exits the room while saying "No rewards without some risk Captain..." He grabs his belongings off the table and with a quickened pace tries to catch up to the guards. heading down the stairs before leaving the mayors house he calls out to the group as he walks out. "If I am not back in a half hour...it's because I'm still fighting!"

"Thank you for your time, Mayor. For the time being, this one has no further questions... And participation is not mandatory. If you wish to rest, those that go will see you at the previous domicile." Tefkae said, going from looking from Mayor to Victoria, and then over to Obaysch. "We have already delayed for a significant amount. This one trusts the captain will complete any and all negotiations during the interim."Without missing a beat, or really explain their intentions, Tefkae sought to be one of the first out the room, retrieving their things on the way out to supporting the guard.
Beaten to the punch as she was by Ankor's longer strides, they change tactics and follow along in his wake. At least until more opening ground allowed for more out of the rogue.
Zack watches Ankor and Tefkae move to leave. He stands up, says, "Have a nice night." to the mayor and then he goes after Tefkae and Ankor. Zack had been wearing his backpack during the meeting so there was nothing for him to pick up on the way except for his rapier.
Victoria determines it's best to follow the others. However, she's left with a dilemma and is unsure what to do with Sailor as it's unsafe to bring him to every battle. Seeing as he is antsy with the cats leaving him here is not a good idea. As she leaves and grabs her things she ponders if tying Sailor to a tree might work. Or maybe he's small enough to fit in her backpack and tries that instead. (Like a purse dog?) Then she (hopefully) reaches the rest of her group.
(Sailor's more of an underarm dog than purse dog, but could be put into an empty backpack)
The group makes haste to catch up to the guards, collecting their belongings on the way. Captain Obaysch strides up to the table alongside the others, "It wouldn't be proper for a captain to leave all the work to his crew." He tells the others, collecting his pistol and sabre. The modron watches until the captain picks it up by the top of its head and perches the little robotic being on his shoulder.
The party leaves the mayor's house and backtracks along the long dusty road towards where they saw the chapel. As they hurry, they see some villagers fleeing the scene, some of which divert to another side alley when they see the party. Upon taking the left turn as advised by the captain, they can see that the six guards are readied with their spears, as well as a seventh wielding a fancy longsword.
The being up the street from the village's stalwart defence is difficult to make out. Its size appears to be monstrously huge, as tall as any of the buildings on the street. Six large pointed limbs seem to act like legs, holding a bulbous body within the air. The semi-arachnid-like form appears to have four large pincer appendages that lumber at its side, between the six legs, and countless outcrops of thorny-like appendages that emit from its body into the mists around it, the whole form seemingly semi-obscured by said environmental effects.
There is a scream coming from the monster's location as it is spotted that a young woman is being held in one of the pincer-like appendages, held some eight feet off of the ground. to the side of the monster it looks like one of the buildings has taken severe damage, as calls for help are coming from within.
@Mr. Pepper
Now that your telepathic link with your master has reconnected, here's what you saw in addition:
The guards rushed towards the chapel first, hurrying to a small font at its entrance. They said some prayers and dipped their weapons within the water before rushing towards the current scene. They have only been there for a brief moment before the link was established, but you can tell that this creature doesn't seem fully corporeal, managing to glide within the mist in the street, it becoming a little thicker and shying away the lantern light.
Scenario: The party is 20 feet behind the guards, who have a 15 foot gap from them to the mist beast (40 feet for party to beast). There are a couple of collapsing buildings to their left, and still standing buildings to their right. A couple of lanterns are held on tall posts ten feet ahead of the party, keeping that eerie illumination in the area.

"Activate Bless!" The captain calls to his men.
"Sir!" They all respond in kind. The blades of their spears begin to emit a small luminous glow to them as they step forward. The beast seems to react in some way, but its alien movements are difficult to understand.
The six guards then attempt to use their spears to attack the front legs and the claw holding the woman.
Spear vs. Mist Beast:7 vs. AC. Hit: 3 piercing, plus 2 radiant damage. Spear vs. Mist Beast:15 vs. AC. Hit: 6 piercing, plus 1 radiant damage. Spear vs. Mist Beast:10 vs. AC. Hit: 3 piercing, plus 2 radiant damage. Spear vs. Mist Beast:10 vs. AC. Hit: 3 piercing, plus 2 radiant damage. Spear vs. Mist Beast:11 vs. AC. Hit: 5 piercing, plus 4 radiant damage. Spear vs. Mist Beast:17 vs. AC. Hit: 10 piercing, plus 2 radiant damage.
The guards, now making a wall of defence, thrust their spears at the beast. Only two seem to take effect, as the bleeding light from the tips of their spears penetrate the mist monster's legs. The spears seemed only mildly effective, but that glowing light seemed more potent in its damage. (Mist Beast: 18 damage.)

Zack wonders if necrotic energy can even do anything to it. He decides to try it anyway. He moves back to about 120ft away from the monster. Then he summons his spectral undead hand to claw at it.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Zack conjures the spectral hand to drain the energies of this strange beast, but it seems to fail to do so, as if it is difficult to get a grasp on the creature that is there.
Obaysch steps forward, standing beside the guard captain."Don't worry, chap. We are here to help!" He tells the Guard captain as he draws his sabre.
The Mist Beast seems to take a couple of steps forward, its bloated body now drifting over the six spear-wielding guards. The woman in its grasps screams as there is a nasty SNAP noise, the pincer crushing around her waist as she falls unconscious from shock. It then goes in with its spare three pincer-appendages to grasp at guards. Pincer vs. Guard #1:27 vs. AC. Hit:9 force damage. Pincer vs. Guard #2:16 vs. AC. Hit:14 force damage. Pincer vs. Guard #6:12 vs. AC. Hit:7 force damage.
The guards, taken unaware, are quickly grasped around their centre and squeezes, held slightly aloft like the woman.
The Guard Captain raises his sword, speaking some tones as the blade alights with flames and a holy light. He then rushes towards the beast, attempting to strike at the pincer holding the woman. Longsword vs. Mist Beast:14 vs. AC. Hit:6 slashing, plus 4 fire, plus 1 radiant damage. Longsword vs. Mist Beast:8 vs. AC. Hit:10 slashing, plus 3 fire, plus 4 radiant damage.
The swift blade of the captain causes large blows to the pincer, seemingly detaching the arm as the remnants that fall from the body disappear into the surrounding mist. The woman's body falls to the ground, still breathing, but badly damaged. (Mist Beast: 54 damage total)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Recalling a scene of guards and blessing, Tefkae cracks off a bolt of fire on the pincer holding the woman, but would dash off towards the church. "Keep up the pressure. I will return shortly."She shouts without looking back. And if she makes it, makes ready to try and mimic the guards actions there.Mr. Pepper, in the meantime, at some unspoken request, sweeps around to distract the mist creature, aiding the next to strike, if only for a moment.
Action: Tefkae Casts Explosive Shot Attack: 18 Damage: 5 of Fire at the Mist Beast.
The jet of flame arcs out and strikes the amorphous body of the mist creature, the fire seemingly working well against it in comparison to the basic weaponry. (Mist Beast: 65 damage total) Tefkae continues to hurry back the way they came, dashing around the corner. Up ahead the silhouette of the chapel is approximately now 40 feet away from where Tefkae stands.
With but a passing thought, Tefkae sends Mr. Pepper to follow after the guards. Unseen, if at all possible, and with instructions to only observe and stay out of sight as much as possible.
