The giants seem to be content though you can't help but question the quality of the some of the food given to the giants. Still they don't seem to mind and even seem to agree when Torsus claims its time for everyone to leave. The giants get up and stumble their way out of town and over the northern hills from wence they came. Only after several moments of tense silence do the people cheer. Well, that certainly went better than expected. Good thing too, I would have just as soon killed the oafs but the losses this town would have suffered would have been too great. Thank you for the aid, we are indebted to you.
If Narz had been a lesser goblinoid he might've had a few choice commentary for the giant's dietary habits. All of it meaning to mock them, naturally. But as things stood, he simply breathed a sigh of relief at their departure before perking up at the Lord's suggestion. "Indebted you say, eh?" He parrots with a lofted brow. "Forgive and think not less of us then if we were to call in that debt a little sooner. Not in coin, necessarily, though I doubt some of us would be against such a possible repayment. But rather, uhm... a moment." He turns and called over Torsus if the Tortle hadn't immediately made his way back to the party.
Once he did so, he carried on by saying, "Considering you did most of the heavy lifting in setting the stage in all this, might you have a request of the Lord? I vaguely remember you having some prior business interrupted back in Bargewight or whatever it was called again, so I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask. Perhaps it is the lord here has contacts in waterdeep that might satisfy whatever it was you had been hoping to gain back then, if concerned of it taking some time."
Torsus himself was glad to see hat it had ultimately worked, but also had a feeling that both Claire and Arty were going to have words. That still didn't mean he was wrong with his assumptions, as the giants could always return. But it would be what it would be. He had indeed came back once the round of relieved sighs escaped the throats of those holding them. Clearing his throat as it had felt congested the last few days, if only to prevent an uncouth voice issue. The irony was the idea had been floating around his own head, but Narz had spoken it first.
I'm sure if I hadn't - Claire or Arty might have, or perhaps even you. Though we do both atleast agree on one thing, often: that threats should be dealt with. But yes, I was thinking much the same my friend. His attention shifting to the 'lord' I have been seeking a jeweler or someone else similarly skilled in gemcraft or perhaps even another skill that can accomplish the same feat. I have a gem required for one of my more powerful spells, yet... I cannot cast it without the gem being able to hold liquids. I do not wish to risk the attempt myself - as that would be throwing my money down the drain - barring a miracle.
So ultimately, it is as Narz says, I have needed for a short time such aid, yet I have yet to find it. My friends here and myself have been tasked with aiding against the giant threat, and the spell I am barred from casting without this reagent would aid us greatly. Do you know of such a person, or perhaps have a contact who would know one in Watersdeep whom you may aquatint us with?
Lord Ilzimmer considers for a moment before nodding. I could always send word ahead to Jhauntar Olmhazan. He runs a shop in the city and holds the position of Gentleman Speaker of the Jewlers Guild in Waterdeep. Though, well to be honest our relationship isn't exactly the friendliest. He tends to be...let's say dismissive, of country folk. My nobility was the only thing keeping him polite, for you, well he may be less inclined. Still, he is certainly very talented, and could handle anything you need in regards to jewelry or gems. His shop is on the High Road near Waterdeep Way and across from the Guildhall of Master Tailors.
This being the first time truly learning of the full details about the jewel, Narz cannot help humming softly a bit in interest and crossing his arms. Then by the time Lord Ilzimmer pondering over the case, the hobgoblin too began stroking his chin in consideration of another thought. for a time. "The individual sounds a bit difficult to deal with, but few truly good craftsmen aren't I reckon. And with your word sent and some 'tidying up' of our person, it shouldn't be impossible for Torsus here to see his wish through." Narz said somewhat offhandedly at first, before looking more towards the lord and even faintly smiling at the end. "Either way, I'm sure you and any other lords among your enterouge have plenty enough to do getting things, uhm, festive again. So, we won't take up more of your time. So, thank you and, uh, if you would excuse us, we'll be heading back ahead to the inn to recuperate, or so I imagine." He said and glances to the others for confirmation.

Lords Illzimmer nods at Claires suggestion. I'm sure we can spare some coin for the people who aided in the defense of our home. I'll see to it that a sum of money is sent along with my letter. It should hopefully at least mean the old grouce will listen to you,n, if nothing else than because he's getting paid to. It will hopefully also cover most of any expenses you might incurred with him. As for clothing it seems Sir Artys has you covered so to speak, so I'll leave that to him. Torsus yawned, as the 'ready to fight' left him, and for a moment, he was unresponsive as he considered several things in his head before finally addressing Narz comment. Trudging over slower than a turtle as he cracked his neck both ways. Well, that did not end as expected but I suppose for now it'll do. But yes, your suggestions are sound, and barring finding him on a bad day, I see no reason for an outright turning away. But yes, let us retire for the night, finish our meals and get some sleep. Get the festivity going again. And Lord.. He starts, temporarily forgetting the name - an oddity of the tortles memory in that he can forget things in the immediate short term only to remember them nearly perfectly later and sometimes permanently. Ah Ilzimer.. Yes. I leave such a choice to your no-doubt illustrious discretion.
You all get your rest and head out on the road the next morning. Its half a days journey to the next town and the Final stopping point before reaching Waterdeep. As you approach the sleepy little village of Rassalantar, with its stone walled farms and ruined keep just barely seen peeking out of a stand of trees to the west you notice the large presence of Waterdavian soldiers. Your new companion explains that Waterdeep has always kept a contingent of soldiers here to patrol the road, and indeed you did pass more patrols than you've yet seen on your journey. With the giants rampaging it seems the Waterdavian Nobility have seen fit to increase patrols on the towns close to their famed city.
It's only mid day but you know that if you rode through you would arrive at Waterdeep well into the night and thus have to camp outside the walls. Instead you opt for a night at the Sleepy Dragon inn, a warm and cozy in run by a amicable dwarf. Your beds are soft and warm and you wake up to a light dusting of snow on the ground. Your night is otherwise peaceful and you're back on the road early in the morning.
Another half a days travel on the road leads you to Waterdeep an you when the city skyline finally appears on the horizon its almost a sigh of relief for some of you.
You approach the city via the Northgate and have to wait in line as travels enter the city. Luckily during this time of year few are on the roads so you're wait is not long. The guardsmen at the gate are joined by a black robed magister who comments on your timing, as the city shall be closing its gates for the winter in only a few days and not likely to take anyone else in once they shut until spring time.
You're all asked your names and those of you who appear to be casters are told to register with the Watchful Order of Magists and Protectors. In part, as he explains, to keep track of magic users within the city should the volatile the law, and in part to call upon you for magical aid should it be required. If anyone seems hesitant he explains all mages and wizards within the city are expected to come to the cities defense while they are staying within their walls, while priests and clerics may be asked to perform healing services. He also clarifies that you would only ever likely be pressed into service should the city be attacked, and that seems an unlikely event.
If you would like to try and hide any of your magic abilities you may try now but be aware there are wizards here screening people as they come in.
Narz frowned and furrowed his brows half surprised at the change in the slight but stringent change in standards, seeing as last time they had not exactly been keen on his entering to begin with. But after looking thoughtful for a few moments, his brows relax as he let out a soft and annoyed sounding sigh. "The city being attacked can come in various forms. Not all of which are as obvious as an army laying siege to its walls. So, I must ask does this registering therefor entail some form of magical marker or signaling artifact to be... 'gifted' to visiting practioners?" He asked in formal tones to the magister on duty.

Torsus wasn't surprised. When he had made his deal with a certain noble that led him to his first patron, he had to do this as well. Of course, he had no magical aptitude back then, so it was more a simple registration of entry. He debated for a few moments on how to proceed as the others bought him time, and ultimately settled on nodding. Of course. And to assuage your potential concerns, should I turn rogue -which I do not plan to- you will know where I intend to be. he says, clearing his throat, before waiting for the papers to sign and whatever else the process required.
Though to add to Narz statement, once his own paperwork was dealt with. And aye, Narz has the right of it. As unlikely as it is, an ancient dragon could swoop in, or perhaps someone with an artifice that reflects.. or even nullifies all magicks. Or perhaps a being of immense, and otherwise immeasurable power could appear. Artys shrugs. "You are correct that there is always risk, but I choose not to worry about something with such a small likelihood of occurring. If I did I would be worried all the time. Either way, such things are not our concern, that's for the city watch. What we need is to find that shop for you, my tortle companion."
