"Reidoth is a druid," Carp says. "He knows where to find everything around here - he's been here forever," he says with a smile. Carp continues with his chatter as you walk through the town. He leads you east on the south road, past the Town Hall and towards a farm on the outskirts of town. As you near, he points it out. "That's where I live," he says with pride. "But we're going past there." He points out an old crumbling rock wall and the woods beyond. "The tunnel is in there," he says. "Are you going to go in now or wait til it's dark?" he asks.
Torwen says: " Thank you Carp. You need to return home. We need to return to town and get some supplies."
With that Torwen will escort Carp back to his home and look to his friends and asks "Does anyone need any supplies? I need to pick up a few things at Barthen's." We also could possibly explore the town a bit before our scouting tonight.
Torwen will head to Barthen's, walk up to the counter and say: "Good Day to you. I would like to purchase a few things. Would you happen to have ball bearings, caltrops, and some lamp oil in stock?"
Thistle marks down everything Torwen requests, bites his pencil while he does the figures, and then says, "That'll be 4gp and 5sp all together. I'll be right back with your items." He turns and goes into the back room, returning in moments with everything Torwen requested. "Anything for you?" he asks.
"Ah, yes, Thistle," Victor speaks up from the back, "Can I get about 9 more rations please, as much as I prefer your taverns cook, we might be on the road for awhile soon and I would like to be prepared. How much do I owe?"
Thistle looks at Victor. "That'll be 45sp for the rations. As for the weapons," he smiles apologetically at Kierro, "you'll have to go see Linene at the Coster. Barthen doesn't deal in weapons and such, I'm afraid."
Linene greets you as you walk in. She looks over the items you have for sale with a critical eye. "They are in good shape. I can give you 30gp for the lot," she says.
Torwen asks: Does anyone need to get anything else? Should we explore the town a little more or maybe go talk to Sildar and tell him we have found the tunnel and plan on checking it out tonight? Or something else?"
"I'm alright for now. I think we should explore a bit more." He turns to Barthen. "What places are there that would be worth a visit here in Phandalin?"
Barthen rubs his chin thoughtfully. "Well, Phandalin is more of a working town than a tourist town. There isn't much here - me, the Coster, the Inn, the Miner's Exchange. Most people just pass through on their way somewhere else," he says with a shrug.
"The Miner's Exchange is run by Halia. It's where all the miners go to get their finds weighed, measured, and paid out," he says. "There's lot of claims around the outskirts of Phandalin that miners are working. As I said, more of a working town than a tourist one," he states.

Torwen asks Carp: " Who is this Reidoth you speak of?"

Faywin agrees with sending Carp home but wants to make sure we have all the information we need to find the tunnel before we release him.
((Carp can describe the way to the tunnel entrance well enough for the party to be sure they can find it on their own))
Torwen will head to Barthen's, walk up to the counter and say: "Good Day to you. I would like to purchase a few things. Would you happen to have ball bearings, caltrops, and some lamp oil in stock?"
Thistle grins at Torwen. "We sure do! How much of each do you need?"
Torwen replies:"2 bags of caltrops, 2 bags of ball bearings, & 5 flasks of oil please"
Thistle marks down everything Torwen requests, bites his pencil while he does the figures, and then says, "That'll be 4gp and 5sp all together. I'll be right back with your items." “I’d like to sell my crossbow, bolts, and mace.”
Thistle looks at Victor. "That'll be 45sp for the rations. As for the weapons," he smiles apologetically at Kierro, "you'll have to go see Linene at the Coster. Barthen doesn't deal in weapons and such, I'm afraid."
Kierro nods. "Good to know. Thanks, Thistle."
He heads to the Lionshield Coster (assuming its open now).
"Miss Linene? I have some unused weapons I'd like to sell. A light crossbow, bolts for it, and a mace."
Linene greets you as you walk in. She looks over the items you have for sale with a critical eye. "They are in good shape. I can give you 30gp for the lot," she says.
Kierro nods. "Thank you, ma'am." He gives Linene the weapons and takes the gp. He meets back with the others at Barthen's.
Torwen asks: Does anyone need to get anything else? Should we explore the town a little more or maybe go talk to Sildar and tell him we have found the tunnel and plan on checking it out tonight? Or something else?"

Torwen asks Barthen: "What is the Miners Exchange and what goes on there?"
"The Miner's Exchange is run by Halia. It's where all the miners go to get their finds weighed, measured, and paid out," he says. "There's lot of claims around the outskirts of Phandalin that miners are working. As I said, more of a working town than a tourist one," he states.
