[OOC: Are you going to the Mercantile District? It is across the river to the south and is the largest market in Constantine. It is closer, but it has a little bit of everything and prices are more expensive. The timber yards in the Western District, are close to where you went to the farmer's market. They would probably be cheaper but further away.

Head to the Western District.

Guilliame heads towards the Western District, retracing his steps of yesterday but not going as far as the farmer's market as he should find what he needs in area around where the huge trees that are floated down from the massive forests upriver are brought out of the river and cut up in the lumber yards. In this area, there are a number of shops that cater for a range of wood-related products ranging from timber for housing down to simple wooden platters for the dining table.

[Guilliame can make an Investigation check to find a suitable place to purchase the drying rack. Less than a 5 will be considered a failure with regard to experience points.]

After searching the local area without incident, Guilliame finds a small-works carpentry shop, which he is confident will do the job well because they have exactly what is wanted already out on display.

Enquiries with the proprietor reveal that the initial asking price is 2 Constantines with an extra charge of a lion to deliver the racks to the shop.

[Does Guilliame wish to try to haggle, barter or perhaps try something else to make the racks cheaper?]

"How about 2 cons delivered and we have a deal?"

The proprietor happily accepts that deal and takes Guilliame's address for delivery later in the afternoon.

[I have removed 2 Cons from Guilliame's purse. Is there anything else Guilliame wants to do while he is in the Western District?]

See if the bat supplier is there and have a look over his stock.

Having organised the delivery of the new drying rack, Guilliame heads further west towards the farmer's market.

As he approaches it, he sees it is much busier now than it was yesterday, with all the stalls set up and many customers wandering the aisles.

Guilliame makes his way through the busy crowd of the farmer's market to the place where the furrier was yesterday only to find the spot is now occupied by a fruiterer selling baskets of apples of various kinds off the back of a wagon.

"Would you be interested in a basket of apples, Master," enquires the man tending the store. "Some excellent fruit this time of year and only a Constantine per basket."

"They'd have to be good at that price. Do you happen to know whether the man who set up here yesterday is at the market?"

"But they be the best apples in the market and worth every cub" says the man in protest before calming down and saying, "I don't think he's here today. He only comes in about once a tenday."

Suddenly, a young voice speaks up close to Guilliame's elbow. "You'll be saving a lot of coin, if you be giving me a cub."

Guilliame looks down to see a young and dirty street urchin holding out his hand. 

"Pretend you're being generous to an orphan and you might not lose the rest of your coin," says the young lad who can't be much older than eight. He has an earnest look about him.

"Get on with you," snarls the apple seller. "I don't want the likes of you hanging around my wagon."

"You're rather young to be involved in an extortion racket aren't you? Shouldn't you be home with your parents?" 

The apple seller turns away and begins checking his wagon.

"Don't have no parents," says the little boy, his eyes switching between looking at Guilliame and away to looking into the crowd in the market.

"Please, Mister. Just a cub. You won't regret it." he says, his hand still out.

"Why won't I regret it? If the story is good enough it's yours."

The boy hesitates and then something in the crowd behind Guilliame makes him blurt out, "They've been following you, and they look angry."

Then the boy turns and runs while at the same time the apple seller shouts out, "Lookout!"

Guilliame turns and sees Blacky and Will, the two muggers from his previous visit to the farmer's market, bearing down on him, their faces full of anger and their hands holding clubs.
