Having reassured himself that the chickens have only been put to sleep as a result of his casting, Guilliame then keeps and eye on the feeding rooster while Wilfred hurriedly searches the hen house for eggs.
Once Wilfred has emerged from the hen house with his hands full of eggs, Guilliame bids the old man goodbye and then makes his way back to the Library, where he finds Velma still at her post at the entrance.
"Well, how did you go?" Velma enquires, after letting him in.

Then she shrugs and asks, "Would you like a cup of char? I can go and make us one, if you will watch the door for me."

"Unless it is one of the masters, do not let them in," replies Velma, turning and heading in the direction of the stairs.
While Velma is away, no one comes to the door of the Library, but Guilliame does see the red-haired woman from the refectory walk past carrying a large wooden box full of earthenware pots. He notes she is heading in the direction of the master's quarters.
Guilliame's duty as a doorman is thankfully short as Velma soon returns with a nice cup of hot char for both of them.
"Do you want to stay here and keep me company?" Velma asks. "It would be nice to know there is someone else in the building."
[OOC: I hope everything worked at well with your trip to Melbourne.]
[OOC: The Library normal closes to regular visitors at sundown, though it is still normally accessible by staff, masters of the school and others with permission after hours, though there will be no staff available to assist at that time.
Guilliame is expected to start his shift with the guard at two candles after sundown; the timing for the candles of the night starting at sundown as determined by the Temple of Mithra. He is then expected to stay on shift for the next four candles (see here).
The guard post is about a ten to fifteen minute walk north of Masterful Mixtures but is on the main north–south road that runs across the island.
If Guilliame wants to stay in the Library with Velma and wants to spend his time studying then could you let me know which spell or area of interest he is interested in studying.]

OOC Am I right in thinking that Guilliame has filled his castable cantrip and 1st level spell spots but could learn more 1st level spells as ritual spells or to replace existing castable spells? And he can't learn any new cantrips?
Stay with Velma chatting for a bit near the entrance to the library and see if there is any unusual activity.
[OOC: Correct with regards to cantrips. If he stays with the Wizard spellcasting class, he will be able to pick up a new cantrip at 4th level Wizard. According to the rules, dipping into other spellcasting classes (e.g. Warlock) would give him extra cantrips and more low level spells, but he would slow his progression to higher-level Wizard spells if he were to do that.
Wizards, however, can learn as many spells between levels as they like (that is one of their biggest advantages). Their limitation is that they can only have a certain number Prepared at any one time (Intelligence Bonus + levels in Wizard), though they can cast any Rituals they know with the use of they Spellbook (and with the longer casting time); not all spell casters can do this.
Choosing a different list of Prepared spells can be done immediately after a long rest as long as the Wizard has access to their Spellbook. Otherwise, the list of Prepared spells doesn't normally change.]
Guilliame and Velma stay near the entrance to the Library chatting and apart from turning away a student, nothing happens for the next hour.

Longer answer: Curing wounds through magic is uncommon in this setting (especially as Clerics as a character class aren't available). Wizards do not get healing spells and, apart from the occasional lesson with the Apothecary, Mistress Althea Salazar, Guilliame cannot remember hearing anything about healing while he was studying at the School. The Temples, especially the one for Aieda, are known for their healers, but Guilliame has no knowledge as to how they go about this.
However, Guilliame would know (seehere) that his own shop is a provider of a sort of healing potion colloquially called the 'Stink of Life', which is used to help people get back on their feet after they are injured. To find out more about Stink of Life, seehere.]

Following Velma's instructions, Guilliame heads towards a particular set of shelves on the ground floor where he finds a large number of books and scrolls whose titles are written in languages unknown to him. However, while scanning the shelves, he sees one scroll that has the words 'Read Me' written on the outside in the Sorendenese script.
Picking up the scroll, he finds that it is wrapped around a similar length of what looks like shiny bronze tubing.
Guilliame closes his eyes and opens them with his Mage Sight active.
The parchment itself does not appear to be particularly magickal. The visible ends of the bronze tube on the other hand has a significantly higher concentration of magick than the surroundings, which might mean that there is a magical spell placed on the tube. However, Guilliame can't see enough of the tube to try to determine the domain of the magick involved.
