Granny nods and then asks, "Are you going to destroy it? and how do you go about doing that anyway?"

"I do intend to destroy but I don't know how. I can ask around the school but I want to make sure I don't let the wrong people know. I think most are trustworthy at the school but there might be a few who would see opportunities for investigation at best or exploitation at worst."

Granny nods and then asks, "Should I be worried about it being in the house? It could be cursed and I am a bit worried about it being with left with our coin, it might bring bad luck to the business. Could we perhaps bury it in the backyard."

"That's a good idea. I'll do it now."

Grab a spade (if we have one) and go and do it.

Grabbing a spade from Granny Naomi's tool box, Guilliame digs into the solid-packed clay of the shop's small backyard. He rapidly comes to an understanding as to why there has never been a garden started out here because there is very little loam above the solid clay. 

[OOC: For possible future reference, how deep does Guilliame dig and does he bury the stone in the leather pouch it is currently in.]

He finishes his task to find Granny Naomi ready with a cup of hot char for him.

"Thank you, Guilliame," she says, "I feel a lot more comfortable now, and I will tell Assam's daughter that you have destroyed the accursed thing now."

Bury in a shallow hole, around 10 cm leaving it in the leather pouch. Cover up the diggings with something that is sitting around (a bucket perhaps). Go inside for the tea.

"By the way, I finished learning a spell today. I haven't tested it out though."

"That is nice, dear," says Granny as she begins to put away the beginnings of a meal she was apparently going to make. "Which one is it? And will it be useful when you start working with the guard?"

"I hope so. It's a sleep that will put people to sleep. Good for crowd control. Just let me check something."

Go out the back and do a See the arcane. See whether the hiding spot of the gem stands out.

Guilliame steps outside and using his mage sight determines that there is no magical glow coming from the buried stone.

[OOC: Make an Arcana check at Disadvantage vs a DC of 11.]

When he comes back in, Granny Naomi asks, "So, you can put people to sleep using magick? I know people who would pay good coin for that."

[OOC: Although the item can't be seen using the See the Arcane cantrip, Guilliame is aware of the more powerful Detect Magic spell, which can apparently be used to detect magic through solid objects.]

"I don't think it will help them in the long term. But maybe worth a try. I need to do a bit more experimentation before I try it on someone we might want to talk to again."

Granny chuckles at that and continues to put away the dinner she is no longer going to prepare. 

When she has finished, she asks, "So, when are we meeting up with Velma?"

[OOC: It is still a couple of hours until sunset.]

"We can meet her at the school closing time there. There's something else I have been thinking about. I'm thinking of asking Master Narim whether if I train some of the young students in arms that I could get free use of the school, or at least pay less. That would mean I would have to spend more time away probably. What do you think?"

"That makes more sense than working with the guard at night," says Granny Naomi. "Less dangerous too... Do you think he will take you up on your offer? There must be others trained in weapons at the school."

"I don't know. Perhaps taking up the offer of the guards might help me get my foot in the door in the school as well. It will be good to be able to have some contacts in the tax department as well."

"Well, good luck with that," says Granny, putting away the last of the food. "I would like to start getting ready. Are you able to keep an eye of the shop and shut up for the night?"

[OOC: What, if anything, has been done with the sign that Guilliame made?]

OOC Sign would be outside. Is there a peak hour where more shoppers are likely. If Guilliame is home at that point then light up sign for a bit with the Prestidigitation spell.

Keep an eye on things as requested. Lock up at normal time if noone is about. 

[OOC: Guilliame would suspect that the most common time for people to visit Masterful Mixtures would be a couple of hours around midday, but people can turn up at any time.]

Guilliame goes outside and lights up the shop's sign, which immediately attracts the attention of a portly Stemian man who is passing by. The man is dressed in clothing of a good quality, but of a rustic nature.

"Masterful Mixtures, eh?" says the man in Stemian, looking at the sign. "What are these mixtures that you are selling, my good man? ... And do you have anything that might perhaps help me in pleasing the ladies?"

OOC IS there something that is sold to people who have such requests. Some deodorant equivalent?
