[OOC: Zed de Maclan and the woman Janny both have the same auburn-coloured hair, which is an unusual shade of colouration in Engle. The native Stemian peoples tend to have brown hair, while the Sorian people's hair tends to be black.

On closer inspection, Zed is not the only person in the group with a magical aura. Both Janny and the man Guilliame has hold of, Oswan Rabal, also have faint auras. Their auras are very hard to see though; barely there.

It is hard to see this because of his aura, but there is something strange about Zed de Maclan's left eye.]

However, as Guilliame is currently holding Master Rabal in his grip, please make an Intelligence(Stealth) check for Guilliame at Advantage (His bonus for this roll is only 1 because he does not have proficiency in Stealth) to avoid Master Rabal overhearing what is being said. [OOC: As I have had Andrew make a roll for Guilliame to see if Master Rabal can overhear what is being said, you might as well also do this for Dora's whispered message. Please make an Intelligence(Stealth) roll at Advantage for her using a bonus of 1. Advantage is one of the options available in the die roller dialog box. With Advantage, you roll two dice and take the highest roll when rolling the dice.]

I can't help turning my eyes heavenwards and mattering a curse, then whisper again to Guilliame "no showdowns tonight then - we are outnumbered". Turning to de Maclan "very well Master De Maclan you may continue on your way with Master Rabal, however I need to know where you are lodging and for how long".

The result of 9 means that he hears something of what Dora said but nothing of what Guilliame said, since his result had to be a minimum of 18 because of the Advantage. Andrew, there is no need to make the second roll now.

Paul, because of a previous failure, you now need to make two rolls for experience: one for Area Knowledge and one for this failed attempt to be Stealthy.

As an example of how this experience system works, for a failed skill check you need to make the same roll again and succeed. For these two cases, you need to make the following two rolls:

Area Knowledge: 1d20 + 4 to beat 15

Stealthy Whispering: 1d20 + 1 to beat 9

If you succeed in these rolls, Dora will gain 10 x her level in experience points, which will help her progress to the next level.

Dora is conscious of Master Rabal's eyes on her as she tells Master de Maclan that he and his whole group can continue on their way.

In response to her questions to de Maclan, Master Rabal enthusiastically says, "The boarding house is at the north end of North Port, near the point."

Master de Maclan smiles at Dora's words and then says, "Frankly I do not know how long we will be here. I am hoping to place my daughter at the School of Occult Studies as she is an innate sorcerer in need of training. Perhaps we will become permanent residents... I do intend to stay at least until she completes her training."

In response to de Maclan's words, the drunken man that Dora left lying on the ground twists his head and looks fearfully at Janny de Maclan. Clearly he had no idea of what the girl is.

To give you some idea about the difficulty involved in certain tasks, please take a look at this section of the rules about Difficulty Class(DC). In this case, for the Area Knowledge roll, I classed the DC as moderate so it required a roll of 15 to succeed. The Stealth roll you both made set up a contested check for Oswan's Perception skill against your respective rolls for stealthy whispering, which in this case was based on your Intelligence ability rather than Dexterity, which it is normally based on. The advantage I gave was because you were both trying to whisper. Unfortunately, that Advantage was not enough to make Dora's message go unheard by Oswan's Perception check.

What does Dora want to do now, particularly with the other brawler now that she has said Oswan can go?]
