Velma looks at Guilliame in astonishment for a moment and then bursts out laughing.

When she stops laughing, she asks, "What is the spell you are trying to learn? Maybe I can help you."

OOC I think I lost a move somewhere. I tried from the other machine but it doesn't seem to have worked. Just need to remember what I said.

"I'm trying to learn Expeditious Retreat. Do you know it?"

"No," says Velma, shaking her head, and then she adds shyly, "But maybe I can help you find the right books... If you would like?"

"That would be very helpful, thank you. Will you be on tomorrow morning?"

"I can be," replies Velma. "What time will you be here?"

"Is mid-morning OK. I might have a sleep in tomorrow."

"That's easy," says Velma. "But... I shouldn't do it, but... I could let you take a book home, if you like and promise to bring it back tomorrow."

"The streets are so dangerous now. I would worry about getting it back safely. I saw a mugging at the market just today. Do you know Simon de Tambor?"

Velma thinks for a moment before saying, "The name is familiar, but no, I don't think so. Who is he?"

Then she hesitates and adds, "You say the streets are dangerous... I don't suppose you'd like to escort a poor girl home to make sure she doesn't get mugged, would you?"

"It would be an honor and a privilege. Whenever you are ready just say."

"I'll, I'll just get my things," says Velma and she hurries off to the librarian's office on the ground floor.

She is back by the time Guilliame has packed up his own belongings and she now has a pale green cloth bag hanging from one shoulder.

"I live about a mile to the west of the School," she says, "I hope that not too far out of your way."

"Not at all."

Gather up things.

"Perhaps I could shout you a drink on the way by way of thanks for your help?"

Velma hesitates for a moment and then says, "Yes please. I would like that."

The two leave the library and, soon after, are being let out of the School by the young man named Seb, the student who Guilliame last saw with Master Narim a night or so ago.

"Good evening, Guilliame," says Seb. "I don't suppose you have seen any sign of Allus, have you?"

"I'm afraid not Seb. He wasn't at the market this morning. Good evening."

"Good evening, Guilliame. Good evening Mistress Smit," says Seb as he lets the two of them out of the School.

"You've seen the Temple guards, haven't you?" asks Velma casually, gesturing with her head towards the alley of the old glass factory opposite the School.

Try not to obviously look.

"No, I hadn't. Why do you think they are there?"

[OOC: Make a Deception roll for trying not to be obvious and a Perception roll to see if you can see anything.]

"I'm not sure," she replies as she begins leading him down the street the other way. "I've heard a number of theories. Some say they're there because of the avatar and some say they are looking for the Archmagus' brother. And someone today suggested they're there because the School has a lot of non-Mithran worshippers studying in it... We live in interesting times, Guilliame."

"I've never been here. Are you able to get me in?" she asks hopefully.
