Okay, from left to right (see map in spoiler) I have Kaylyn, Ireniana, Rhayna, Royan, Meepo, Kastix - Kaylyn is considering the door on the left, but hasn't attempted it yet. - Ireniana is still contemplating whether to stay with Kaylyn or Rhayna, or follow Meepo, Royan and Kastix. - Rhayna is investigating what she can of the columns - Royan is pulling Meepo away from the third door on the northern wall - Meepo is trying to open the door, calling out to Calcryx, who he believes in on the other side. - Kastix is beside the door ready in case it opens
Goblin conversation can still be heard at approximately the location marked with a big green circle. The words are unintelligible, but it sounds like at least 6 goblins having some kind of discussion, in which they seem sufficiently engaged that they haven't heard anything from the hallway you are in.
Rhayna's investigations:
There are many artistic similarities in these columns to the ones in the kobold hall, and the connotation still appears to be assuming the qualities of dragons by partaking of aspects of their nature. However the qualities and the methods of partaking of them are quite different, and clearly this hall is meant for a different kind of draconic sacrament as the other. There are five pairs of columns, each member of the pair being identical. Each pair represents a different chromatic dragon, starting with black on the far right, followed by green, blue, red, and finishing with white on the far left. Rhayna is certain that the order is right to left, starting with black and finishing with white, and not the converse, due to the orientation of the carvings. The order is curious, as white dragons are generally considered inferior to all others, whereas this arrangement places them in a superior position. There is no altar in this room. The general idea seems to be that supplicants (individually or in a procession) commenced from the door on the right and proceeded through the hallway between the columns. As they traversed each column pair, the supplicant was subjected to some form of assault by acid, poison, lightning, fire and cold, in that order. By so doing, they hoped to gain deeper access to the essence of dragon-hood through their suffering. This ordinance was apparently of a higher order than the one in the earlier hall, and reserved for those being initiated into a higher degree of the cult hierarchy.
To Rhayna's knowledge, no other example of a draconic cult initiation ceremony has been recorded quite like this one. She becomes quite excited by the prospect of being the first to fully document the entirety of the citadel, to collate her observations and deductions, and to present her findings to the academic community. She starts to envisage speaking tours of the great academies of the Sword Coast and beyond, admission to the faculty of the Library at Candlekeep, recognition by the great arch-scholars of Thay...

"This is our immediate threat," Royan whispers loudly as he points to the door at the end of the room. "You don't leave a threat at your back. We either find some way to trap them in there, or we need to take them out now. I would rather not have them try the door then come the other way through the kobold hall."
"As much as I hate this idea, I believe it may be at first our best first strike, someone opens the door, I rush in and burn as many as I can. Then you guys get those who survive," Kastix whispers.

Let's have people roll initiative and declare their intended actions.
You will basically be stepping through an open doorway, but can't see what's on the other side, so your declarations will have to be limited to where you intend to move, and what you EXPECT to do when you get there.

Royan bursts through the doorway, charging into the room. The north and south walls of this chamber are stacked halfway to the ceiling with ill-made barrels, boxes, and crates. A clear path through the middle allows Royan to see two goblins just inside the room at the far end, trying to peek into the room beyond and speak to more goblins. He sprints up to the one on the right and promptly cuts down the startled goblin with his longsword.
Kastix strides angrily into the room behind Royan, unusually brash with impatience at Meepo, and storms toward the goblin in the doorway. Speaking a word of command he thrusts his hands in front of him, and a sheet of flame sprays out before him. The goblin in the doorway makes an attempt to duck, but he too was caught off guard with the sudden onslaught, and squeals sickly as his face is burned away. Similar screams are heard from within the room.
Running up to the left of Kastix, Kaylyn looks in through the doorway through the sheet of flame and sees more goblins standing behind a half-wall that faces the archery targets seen previously. Three goblins with bows face down the range, one of which is writhing in pain under the sheet of flame. Kaylyn shoots arcane energy from her hand at another, who takes it in the side of the head and flops lifelessly over the wall.
As the sheet of flame suddenly stops, Ireniana leaps through the doorway and over the burning bodies into the room beyond. Seeing the third and final startled goblin archer at the wall, she lashes out with her shortsword, and slices its head clean off, which goes rolling down the archery range. Casting around for another target, all she can see are two more goblins at the end of the archery range, peering around the corner, apparently searching for the source of the noises they heard there.
Meepo only makes it inside the pantry, sling and stone at the ready, but only in time to see a goblin falling off Royan's sword and more dying in Kastix's fiery wrath, and stops staring in awe of the fury of the 'magic man'.
Rhayna is the last to enter the room, and is disappointed to see a lack of anything of archaeological significance in the room, at least anything that can be observed behind the stacks of crates, but wonders if this served as a waiting room for those about to enter the ritual chamber, and whether the walls concealed behind the crates might contain any old carvings or murals that would have suggested more about the nature of the draconic cult and their ceremonies ... and ugh, what was that sickly burning smell ... oh.
Ireniana and Kaylyn are both in a position to see the final two goblins at the end of the archery range flee in terror around the corner. The door at the northern end of the room Ireniana entered is also open, revealing a hallway and another room beyond. There is also a closed door on the western side of the archery range.
(I must admit I thought I'd get a lot more mileage out of 9 goblins. It was a pretty cool blitz though. Here is the map, along with the locations of the dead goblins)
It would appear that there were 3 goblins archers in this room originally (#1,2,3) shooting at the targets. Three more came from the guard room to the north (#4,5,6) and another three from the guard room that you passed through on the way into the hazy hall (#7,8,9).
(I actually rolled hit points for each goblin separately. Several of them should have been able to withstand some of those attacks, but [un]luckily the toughest ones all got hit with the most damage and failed their saves)

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Royan, seeing the goblins fall in front of them, continues through the door. He sees Ireniana and Kaylyn looking down the archery range, but also notices a door behind them, to the north, Royan steps through the door to block the way, to ensure no one else can join the fight.
Mechanics:
Move 30ft through door door to archery range and 1 space through door to the north. Ready an attack with my longsword to use if an enemy comes within 5ft. Longsword - Attack: 24 Damage: 8
Royan can see the door at the end of the hallway, which presumably leads into the same room Meepo was trying to enter before. There don't appear to be any other exits from this hallway, or from the room beyond, and no other creatures in sight at this time.

If there's no lock, Kastix will grab the handle and motion for everyone to get ready for whatever behind the door. He'll try to open it so he has the door between him and whatever behind it when everyone is ready.
