It seems we have our own reasons, yet the same destination. I need to get some supplies before we set off. We can meet in the morning as Kastix said." She answers.

Royan takes a moment to look around the store as if looking for items to buy. After he has had the chance to get acquainted with the space he walks up to the woman behind the counter. The loss showed on her face, for surely this was the mother whose twins were missing. He could not help but be moved by her pain.
“Good day, Good Mother. I believe I may be of some assistance to you. I am headed to the ruins outside of town and understand you have your own concerns in that area. Maybe I can help while I am there.”
Ireniana arrives in Oakhurst, clutching her weapons and keeping to herself. She is an elven woman at about 5'4 with dark skin, though she is not a drow. Her face has old bruises and a somewhat squished nose from her days in boxing. She smiles at the Ol' Boar Inn, remembering her bout a few years ago. Glancing at her map, she makes her way to the Ol' Boar, keeping an eye out for Kerowyn Hucrele to touch base with him about the job.

While entering the Inn, you glance over to the General Store as you think of Kerowyn, and notice a large well-armed man enter the store. Inside the Inn there are three strangers talking at a table, and you overhear them planning to meet in the morning on some expedition to the Citadel by the sounds of it.
Kastix:
The townsfolk are unaccustomed to seeing a tiefling and at first are taken aback whenever you approach them. But as you speak they sense that though you might be a stranger to them, you are no stranger to pain and horror, and they open up to you. As you make inquiries, you learn that the goblins rarely make an appearance, except annually to sell their single magical apple. You also pick up that some smart people have tried to plant the seeds and grow their own magical apple tree, but the trees all apparently get stolen by the time they reach a couple of feet in height, and they blame the goblins. Some cattle have also been attacked lately, injured by piercing wounds, and again the goblins are blamed. There's no mention of other goblinoids - apparently their lair is a bit too far off the trading route for raids.
Kaylyn:
(OOC: Just about anything from the equipment list in the PHB should be available at the general store. Simple weapons are available from the blacksmith, but martial weapons will need to be ordered and will take time. Let me know what you want and I'll confirm)
Royan:
The woman looks up quickly at your greeting, and becomes much more animated at your offer of help. Oh, good sir, would you? My two children, Talgen and Sharwyn, went there a month ago, and I fear for their lives. Neither of them were ever content with the simple merchant life, not that I blame them. Talgen, he has too much of his father in him, and spends all his time with the sword, and Sharwyn, she's much too clever for this mundane work, and studies magic. With the midsummer approaching, they thought they could get a jump on the goblins and their magic fruit, but I'm afraid I've lost them. She stops and sobs a little more, then continues. Good sir, I'm offering a reward for their rescue - 250 gold for each of my babies. Or if the worst has happened, at least bring me news or proof of some kind so I can ... and she breaks down in sobbing again...

What brings you to Oakhurst? Moi name is Corkie. How can She Who Shapes help She Who Guides? As you mention your interest in the Citadel, she adds: Hmm, interested in the Citadel eh? There's been a few asked about that, tho we prefer to leave well alone. A few folks went out there about month ago, tho they've not returned as yet. Afore that, well ... must be nigh on twelve years ... a fella was askin'. Grim chap he was, with a pet frog too - a big one! But he never returned either. Still, if you do go lookin', the blessing of the Grain Goddess be upon ye.

Rhayna bows slightly to the follower of Chauntea. "Indeed Sister Corkie, I am a follower of the Goddess Selune. I have devoted my life in the search of knowledge. I plan on visiting this Citadel, perhaps tomorrow, and find whatever mysteries are hidden in that place. You mentioned about a fellow that came here twelve years ago. Do you remember anything else about him?" Rhayna looks around the shrine. "What services do you provide here, Sister Corkie?"
After speaking with the elderly Gnome. Rhayna says politely. "May the blessing of She Who Guides be upon you as well." She retires to her room. She goes over the few tomes that she brought with her to see if there is any record of this person Corkie mentioned.

Entering the shop, you notice a large man with a sword at the counter, facing a sobbing woman who appears to be the shop owner. Although his stance is not threatening, the woman appears to be in some distress.
Rhayna:
Corkie explains that as a humble but poor servant of Chauntea she can offer her advice and guidance, as well as some healing if required. She cannot recall the fellow's name with the giant frog or toad or whatever it was, but he had a beard, was dressed in furs, and carried a staff and sickle. “Good Mother, I know well the call of youth to follow their dreams. It was that same call that eventually brought me to your door today. The look in my mothers face the day I left though, I still see her tears. I will do what I can to let you know where they are.”
Royan said farewell to the woman and left quickly to avoid opening his mouth and making any more promises to her. If she had offered a reward for their return there may be others heading out. If they could work together it would make things a lot easier. Royan made his way across to the Inn, where he might finally be able to draw a bath and ease his feet.
Before Rhayna went back to the Inn. She passed by the shop and noticed an object. The object grabbed her attention, and stopped her on her tracks. As she got closer, she told the shop owner. “I am buying that.” She took the Whip off the shelf, paid for it, and retired to her room.

No, no, that's fine. I'm sorry, it's just that my two children have been missing for quite some time, off on some silly quest for a magic fruit. That man said he might be able to help find them, but I don't know what hope there is after all this time.

Kaylyn almost speaks the words quickly almost without thinking.
Ah, you've heard of it? the shop-owner replies to Kaylyn. We've purchased the fruit before, and tried to cultivate the seeds, as have others. But the saplings always disappeared after a few weeks. I suppose the goblins want to protect their monopoly on it, and uprooted them, but we've never caught them. So my son Talgen and daughter Sharwyn decided this year to find the source of the fruit. If you are doing the same, then I wish you better fortune. If you locate any sign of either of my babies, please bring me word.
