We interrupt this combat to bring you a breaking development...

Royan runs across the room to help dispatch the remaining skeleton, but he slips briefly on a wet mushroom, and his sword whistles over the head of the skeletal gardener.

At about the same moment, a deep raspy voice is heard from the cave entrance to the north: Grip! Fang! Search! after which two giant rats bound through the tunnel and snarl at Erky, baring their teeth. Behind them a large bugbear emerges. He wears a leather helmet with two huge antlers attached, and brandishes a shield an morningstar. A familiar-looking whip also hangs at his belt. Seeing the heroes battling the skeleton, he roars: Ah! Fresh meat! Get ready to meet the cooking pot! and swings his morningstar at Erky.

Ireniana, your initiative was next, so you can make an attack instead of your Ready action. Then Rhayna, who hasn't declared anything yet. 

Skeleton: Shovel v Kastix: Attack: 24 Damage: 8 HIT

Kaylyn, changes her Eldritch Blast to the bugbear.
Kastix and Erky, you can declare new actions if you wish to change targets.

Seeing the massive bugbear enter Kaylyn shifts her attack to him and blasts him with her arcane energy.

Ireniana charges toward the bugbear and attacks him with her two blades.

"My whip!! Oh no you don't!!" Rhayna holds her pendant high towards the Bugbear. "May the Goddess guide me." She casts Guiding Bolt on the Bugbear.

Erky, suddenly promoted to the ranks of meat-shield, with small squeak run as far away as he could (Disengage), in panic casting Healing Word 6 on himself.

But brave little Jackal changed the target (the closest rat):  Attack: 4 Damage: 0

Katix on seeing new enemies, disengage from skeleton and move back to create some distance to attack from.

Ireniana's plan to cover the cave entrance was fortuitous, as she was ready when the fearsome bugbear and his rodent 'hounds' appeared and started to attack Erky. Leaping into action, her new shortsword responding almost intuitively to her will, she bit into the bugbear's right-side ribcage, eliciting a howl of pain. Her second sword attack however, as before, was unexpectedly sluggish, like it was reluctant to participate, and clanged harmlessly on the bugbear's shield, simultaneously blocking the streak of light streaking from Rhayna's outstretched pendant. Their frustration at this was quickly forgotten though, when a blast of arcane energy from Kaylyn slammed full into the bugbear's face, causing his antlered helmet to fly off backwards. Erky took this opportunity to slip away from the bugbear's attention, sidestepping the gnashing teeth of the rats, and moving into a safer corner.

Grunting in pain at the whack across the head from the skeleton's shovel, Kastix decided there were bigger challenges afoot, and swatted aside the irritating gardening tool long enough to move out of its reach. Recognising the danger to its master, the jackal also spun away from the skeleton to lunge at Grip, one of the rodent hounds. However, before it had taken two steps, the skeleton's shovel swung high, crashing down on its hindquarters, and crushing its hip, after which the jackal vanishes leaving only a few fluffy pieces of lint floating in the air.

That's Round 2 done. Erky and Kastix are injured, and the Jackal is gone. There is no-one in range of the skeleton (which is at full health). The bugbear is mildly injured, and the rats are at full health.

Seeing that she should leave the fighting for the people that does that for a living. Rhayna brings her pendant to her chest, and prays to Selune to Bless her companions instead. (Casting Bless on Ireniana, Royan, and Kaylyn. Sorry Kastix. If we get to lvl3, you will also be included.)

(If needed, she will move away if there is any enemy nearby her.)

Concerned over the new threats Kaylyn continues the attack against the bugbear. "May you trip over your own feet you fat bugger!"  She says as she places a Hex on the bugbear affecting his Dex 

Eldrith Blast Attack: 26 Damage: 13 force damage + 6 necrotic damage

 Kaboom!  2 crits in a row!

"Just go away dammit!" Kastix will try to Fire Bolt the skeleton if he can see it or bugear otherwise, "Ignis!"

Bugbear seemed to be dealt with, but both rats were still here and looked quite aggressive. Erky tried to even the odds by summoning some more help: 6   And was left wondering if Giant Weasel were any good in that situation.

While contemplating that difficult question, he tried to help Kastix Healing Word 3

In case Weasel got his turn right away - attack the closest rat: Attack: 15 Damage: 5

Royan recovers from his stumble as a bugbear and 2 giant rats enter the room. His attention is immediately drawn to the bugbear, but so is everyone else’s. Other threats exist that also need to be taken care of. Royan once again turns and swings his sword and the skeleton. 
Attack: 7 + Bless 2 Damage: 6

Round 2 summary

Royan having recovered from his slight misstep, jabs this time at the skeleton, but his sword slides harmlessly between its ribs with no effect. The skeleton's subsequent shovel swing is surprisingly strong, but clangs directly into Royan's shield with a reverberating gong-sound that echoes around the chamber. Standing now at a safe distance, Kastix hurls a mote of fire at the skeleton, which detonates right on its head, encasing the skull in flames and giving the skeleton now a more fiendish look.

Having had its antlers blown off by Kaylyn's last spell, the vicious bugbear hunter seems to become more enraged, and with wide eyes it orders its hounds to press the attack on Erky. Confusing Erky with their coordinated strikes from opposing sides, both rats are rewarded with flesh and blood, to which Erky succumbs, slumping to the floor.

The bugbear then turns his attention to Ireniana, lashing out with his morningstar with a rabid howl. Despite his glaring countenance, his rage seems to have blinded him somewhat, and Ireniana steps aside and avoids the blow. Her retaliatory strikes however are equally unsuccessful as both blades strike against the bugbear's leather armour pieces.

Watching as the battle hangs in the balance, with Erky already felled, Rhayna calls on Selune for a blessing on her companions, focusing her god's will on Royan, Ireniana and Kaylyn. The goddess appears to have answered, as another blast from Kaylyn slams again directly into the bugbear's wide-eyed face. With another howl of pain, the bugbear drops its morningstar and doubles over, clutching its face with both hands.

Erky's Bag of Tricks unfortunately never resolved, neither did his Healing on Kastix. Erky, please instead make a Death save for Round 2, and then another for the new Round 3.
Ireniana is in melee with the heavily-injured bugbear and the two uninjured Giant Rats. Royan is in melee with the almost-dead skeleton. Kastix, Rhayna and Kaylyn are all outside melee range.

Ireniana flexes before attacking the bugbear once more. "You're pretty hardy friend, but Ireniana is going to take you down."

"Someone help the little one," Kastix shouts  as he points at whatever is still standing on his turn and fires a fire bolt at it

Rhayna see that Erky is down. She rushes to the fellow Cleric and drags him out of melee range. She also casts Healing Word on the gnome. (Heal: 6)

"Try not to be a hero shall we?"

(OCC: FYI. Rhayna is still concentrating on Blessing her companions and she is also out of spell slots.)

"Believe me, it was never my intent!" assured her Erky, standing up and finding time to bow to his saviour, "Thank you!".

A bit lost on the order of things, but if rats are still after him - he will try to disengage and run away.

If they are on someone else now (after "killing" Erky) - he will try his bag: 3  Baboon

And if someone seriously wounded and under attack: Cure Wounds 9

Royan starts to get frustrated with the skeleton. Having stabbed straight through the ribs the last time, he tries to do a heavy overhand swing down on the clavicle.
