Damaia nods along as Jasmal talks about Jessop. Once Jasmal's finished, as if Damaia's brain had just finished processing what was said, Damaia furrows her brow and says with a face of confusion, "Hold up! How the **** did a tree surviving being hit by ******* lightning? That shit fries almost anything but the real nasty stuff. Jessop is supposed to be super dead."
"Don't be silly dear, lightning only kills you if you anger the gods. Bloody hurts though - as if I needed any more encouragement not to wave a sword around in a storm! But with Jessop - well it was a wet day, to be sure; there are not many dry storms, not unless you twist and pull at The Weave - and the lightning likes the wet rain more than it likes the dry bark, and that you see. Still, he lost a few patches - they blew clean off, never seen the like before or since - and he lost his favourite branch. Poor fella."
You both know if Spindle Pine Forest and it's incredible evergreens that grow in twisted pairs, each tree supporting the other. The trees are a main source of income for the town. The resin is used for sealant and torches, the nuts the trees produce are inedible, but they have a pleasant aroma when placed upon the fire and fetch a high price from those that live in musty castles.
(If there is anything you'd like to do in town you are welcome to. Once you all accept the contract Blanton will hand you all certificates to rent a cart and 2 draft horses for the journey.)
Damaia hangs back with her arms crossed and her tail wrapping around and coming to the front of her body. She doesn't need anything at the moment and so waits for the others to decide. "Well, I don't know about the rest of you but I'm ready to get going. The sooner we leave, the sooner we can get back."
"Indeed."Triscyne nods,"And I also travel without horse at this time."
With only a couple days worth of travel he would have no issues, anything over a week of travel would start to become worrisome, but even then he would be able to hunt for food with some manner of success. For a moment he sinks in thought, remembering where he came from, and that if he had stayed in that world he most definitely would not be able to survive more than a single day out in the wilderness.
He accepts the certificate on behalf of the group, giving it a once-over to ensure everything is in order. "Ah, a cart and horses. Perhaps we should make use of it for those less used to walking long distances?"he says, giving Jasmal a kind-hearted smile.

Damaia sees that Tri took the paper and says, "I... Will meet you on the outskirts of the city. I just remembered that I need to check on something." She begins to head out of the building.

Once out she will turn red and say to herself, "Argh I can't believe I forgot about food. I need to discretely buy rations. No one must know I forgot" She then heads to the nearest shop discretely to buy 5 days worth of rations. How much does that cost?

(Damaia, that will cost you 1 gold (2s per day) unless you want better quality food, then it will be 2 gold. Higher quality food has no mechanical benefit.)
If all are ready then you set forth on the Kings Way North, a major commerce trail, eventually happening upon signs posted leading you to Spindle Pine. . .
The day goes by uneventful for the most part, near disk however there is a bit of light rainfall and the temperature is dropping fast. Those proficient in survival would know that it's most likely going to turn to sleet or snow come nightfall. Do you choose to weather the precipitation or find shelter for the night?
"It will be getting cold tonight. I would suggest we find some shelter and wait until morning before we continue."Kodiak says from his place in the back of the cart.

"feel it in me knees, rains a-comin. Best get indoors. Less you strapping young things want ta flip the cart over and carry it over our heads like a brolly!"
Triscyne is taking a turn walking alongside the cart when Kodiak speaks up. He looks up at the sky, not really noting where he gets the information from, but then shrugs and turns his attention to the sides of the road, looking for a suitable place to park the cart and camp for the evening. A place not too far from the road, with shelter from the wind and a place for the horses to graze would be perfect.
He was enjoying this trip already, being out on the road again, moving at a relaxed pace. The weather was a tad colder than he had been expecting, but with a strong fire the cold of the night could be kept at bay, even without a tent. A bit of an oversight not to bring those, but he is confident he will manage, regardless. Of course, he does not need to fall into unconsciousness like some of the others here, and a small sitting position near the fire will do for him.
When Jasmal speaks up he grins. "We can make a fire near the cart if we need to camp outside, you can sleep under it to keep warm and dry."
The Eladrin points out the lights to his fellow travelers. "Could be worth checking out. If it's a merchant caravan for example, we might have a safe haven for the night. If it's trouble, we know to steer well clear of it, perhaps even keep going so we travel past it. I could go and have a closer look if we keep going in that direction a little while longer."
He starts pulling on his bracers and checking his equipment, already doing a first check to make sure he would not make any unnecessary sounds if he were to go investigate closer.

Kodiak would find a well worn side path that leads into a rocky foothill.
Triscyne will spot a few lights up ahead that look like campfires in the hillside.

Jasmal whispers to Mr Flickers. He unwraps himself from her arm and slithers off in the direction of the fires.
