[[No. He needs to be within 30' and I determined at the time that he wasn't, and by the time Brand got closer, Rawl was up the tunnel.
Edit: Sorry, the Trapper was up the tunnel and Brand couldn't see his aura because he was out of range. Rawl had no aura that Brand could see at the time and he couldn't see anything about the dagger because it was hidden at the time.
For anything more, you will need to make a Perception check.
Perception: 21
[[Checking Rawl's body closer shows that the man is not carrying a purse, which might be considered unusual, and that he has a hidden sheathe for a bladed weapon under his left armpit. This sheathe is empty though.]]
I've been mindful of this and Brand hasn't actually been close enough to Rawl while using the Stone of Unseeing until the fight on the road
[[ Yeah, Koric was pretty annoyingly close in the hidden corridor, so Brand didn't get a chance to go invisible, IIRC ]]
[[ Regarding warlock pacts, Make an Arcana check.]]
Arcana: 8
[[Brand can make a roll for experience, but he doesn't know about warlock pacts; he would know that sorcerers and magi are different in that the first is the general term for someone who has innate magical power and the second is someone who has gained full control of that power through prolonged study i.e., people go into the School of Occult Studies as sorcerers to learn to control their power and they come out as journeymen magi and are recognised as such by the crown.]]

[[Yes... I thought so too, then I looked at the RAW and saw10' per round, and thought "that's rubbish" (as one does). Then I consulted the Great Oracle (Google/Wikipedia) and found "Longer, narrower rowboats can reach 7 knots (13 km/h; 8.1 mph) but most rowboats of 4.3 m (14 ft) can be rowed at 3–4 knots (5.6–7.4 km/h; 3.5–4.6 mph)"; which horrified me. Then I remembered that a lot of WW2 vessels traveled under 30KPH and it fitted a little better in my world view.
But yeah, 20' per round is on'y half the speed of a real rowboat, but is faster than the RAW. For some reason I had the idea that 30' per round was 18kph, which it clearly is not.
This all means I probably need to revisit my Stone of Far Reaching arguments; though I suspect what we have is a pretty good system.
So... It was 5 minutes from House to Cistern. Is is roughly twice as far along the river?]]
Brand is visibly relieved, "That is good news" then he looks at the sphere, "I have to say that I'm not normally on the chatty side, but tonight has been a little troublesome. Would you prefer if I stopped talking? I can try to meditate instead."
