[[Just quickly because I'm on lunch break at work. I was uncertain whether you wanted Brand to be put to sleep now or wait until some weed could be found and applied, which could take some time.]]

Mistress Althea agrees and heads off to get her medicine bag leaving Brand and Daffid to await the arrival of Master Narim. This waiting time gives Brand the chance to search Master Nathaniel's room for anything suspicious or out of the ordinary.

Brand starts to methodically moving around the room looking for any sign of an external cause for the attack on Master Nathaniel.

He finds no such evidence but is reminded by the presence of a number of used cups that Nathaniel has recently had visitors.

As he searches, Brand says "Thank you for your help. Without that spell -- protection from evil, was it? -- I doubt Nathaniel would be alive now. That was very quick thinking."

Daffid looks a bit embarrassed and says "I have heard stories told of what the Seekers from the Temple of Donai use to protect themselves from the restless dead and I had a bad experience with one of those foul creatures when I was younger... I learnt the spell as soon as I could and always have it prepared."

Brand smiles, "I'm glad you did!"

Then he glances at Daffid's belt, and frowns, "Is there a reason you don't carry a weapon? I'm not sure I would have taken on that ... thing ... with my bear hands."

Daffid frowns for a moment and then smiles.

"I'm an administrator, not an adventurer," he replies. "I look after the School's records."

 Brand nods, "An administrator, you say? Well... I shall never make fun of administrators again." he says, smiling.

After a moment he continues, "Tell me, those three who were here before...I recognized the Glory of course, she is hard to miss. Do you know who the others were? They looked strangely familiar."

"I know that one of them was a former student: Ezra Serkin," replies Daffid. "Works for the crown now, and arranged the meeting between the Glory Rahni and Master Nathaniel. I believe the Glory is investigating the recent death of the warlord and they wanted to consult with Nathaniel about something."

"And the other...the guard...I'm sure Ive seen him somewhere before."

Daffid simply shrugs and says, "Some sort of honour guard, perhaps. Not that a Glory would need much protecting."

Brand nods, "Indeed".

"Well, í think I'm done here." He says as he tries his best to tidy any news he has made.

Mistress Althea returns before Narim shows up and tells them that Narim is in the process of clearing the building, and will join them shortly.

She then pulls a small leather pouch from her medicine bag and says, "This is dried leaf. You can either smoke it, or I can infuse it into a tea. Which would you prefer?"

"Which is more likely to succeed? Or have the fastest and greatest effect?"

"Neither, perhaps," she says with a shrug, "but smoking is faster, while drinking the tea is kinder on the body."

"Perhaps the tea. It may provide me the focus and the time to prepare my mind a little."

Brand looks for a chair, then reconsiders, and settles into the floor, trying to still his mind, focusing on his breathing he waits for Althea to prepare the infusion.
