Ham floats upwards on the invisible wings of magic. Meanwhile, Silas places the red cape on his back, the fine clean fabric fluttering in the wind. He grabs Azaka's hand looking up and seeing the lowest platform on the side of the cliff several hundred feet up. The two of the "bamf" away. Sickle, with his gnome rider clambers up the cliff wall. The climb will take several minutes as they climb the long distance, the wind buffeting them as they crawl up the wall. Mandra waits for a few minutes as Ham reaches the platform, before canceling the spell and casting it once more on Boris. Again she waits. Boris wafts past the spider and Sickle on his way up the cliff. Finally she sends Sedrik up the cliff.
Silas and Azaka looks around. Silas's red cape whips about in the wind. The wooden platform that forms the main path is well maintained in this area. The wooden beams clearly carved and fitted with skill, the planks strong and well assembled. The plaster covered buildings against the cliff face are also well maintained and several stories high, though entrances are only available at the base of each, along the walkway. The view down hundreds of feet below is harrowing. They can see the tiny looking spider and rider carefully picking there way up the cliff, while Ham flies through the air quickly up towards them.
Three Aarakocra swoop down from above, weapons out, and land a couple dozen feet up the landing from where Silas and Azaka stand. One steps forward and speaks in his parrot like voice, "Are you friend or foe who so visits the holy site of Kir Sabal?"
Azaka answers quickly, "Friend".
They nod, seeing no one reach for weapons or act with threat.
"Very well." The glance down the cliff. "More come. We will wait. Then we can take you to our leader to discuss your purpose here." One of them leaps into the air and flies off.
Ham arrives, followed by Boris. The giant spider and the gnome crawl up the edge onto the platform. Sedrik arrives next. Finally Mandra appears. Her form appears healthy, her skin flush, and quite alive looking. She lands gently on the platform.
The lead Aaraokra motions for you to follow, "If this is all, then...come, we take you to our leader."
Your lead up the wide walkway past several more homes. Aarakocra peer out curiously from windows as you pass. It winds it's way up some steep stairs and onto another level, past more structures that appear to be homes. The end of this second level seems to lead into a structure, but they don't take you there, stopping instead at a building here. The door is open and you are led into what seems to be a roomy living space, large enough for twenty people to assemble. An Aarakocra here steps forward, "I am Trin. I provide guidance to my people. Please tell me who each of you are, and why you have come to Kir Sabal. This is a holy place."

Sickle steps forward, dropping his spider form. “I am Sickle of Mirabar, and my companions and I have come to Chult and are combing these jungles in search of the source of the Death Curse that scourges the whole world.” Gesturing to Azaka, he continues, “We are guided through the jungle by this one, who led us to the Fyrefinger, home of the Pterafolk, to claim an artifact she had lost. In the process, we encountered one of your people, Nephyr, who had been captured. We freed him, and he bid us come here to Kir Sabal, and meet your people, and see what aid you may offer in our quest, if any.”
“Nephyr spoke to us about your rescue. We are honoured by your visit. The one will want to speak to you. Please follow me to the cleansing room.” He and the other Aarakocra lead you out and to the end of the platform that leads into the structure that leads up to the next level. Inside is a two story building with a stream of water flowing from a wooden pipe. The room is setup like a communal shower with stairs leading up to the next floor. “We cleanse here before seeing the one.”
He removes his robe and bits of armour and jewelry and begins what seems a ceremonial cleansing ritual. Other Aarokocra offer to assist each of you to disrobe and clean. He points to several open lockers, “Please leave weapons here.”

She waves off the helping hands of the Aarokocra, disrobing herself and showering in the water. She mutters to herself in distaste of the superstitious inconvenience, but goes through the motions and comes out the other side smelling a bit nicer.
It isn't the warm baths of the magic burrow, but Badger is happy for the chance to wash off some of the jungle stink. He casts off his Chultan robe and turban and leaps into the shower. Having washed and dressed, Badger leaves his staff, sling and pack in the locker, but retains his pouch including his orb and magic rod.

Once the group has stored their weapons and are sufficiently cleaned, the Aarokocra lead them to the next level, out and up to a large monastery. Here it would seem a formal gathering has been called. The entrance to the massive temple leads into a large room that appears to be an eating hall. They lead you through this past some double doors into the main hall. This hall of the monastery is an impressive sight. The rafters of the ceiling are fully 60 feet above the floor, and the peak of the thatched roof is 15 feet above that. The space is large enough that aarakocra can fly inside it. A circular labyrinth symbol of Ubtao is laid out on a floor mosaic 25 feet in diameter. An ancient looking Aarokocra sits at one end of the large ornate monastery room. Behind her and to one side stands a native chultan with light brown skin, a young girl wearing various ornate jewelry. She is silent.
The elder woman Aarakocra says, "Welcome friend to Aarakocra. We say you are welcome here in this home as sacred guests. Please, tell us of your journeys so that we may hear of your glorious tales."

Sickle looks at the others then clears his throat and steps forward. The weeks in the jungle have made him strong and lean, and he stands tall before the elder. "I am Sickle of House Thundersar, of Mirabar. Most of those with me met in Waterdeep, drawn there by fate or chance. We were hired by a retired adventurer who tasked us to seek out the source of the world-afflicting Death Curse, preventing resurrection and cursing those have been brought back with a deadly wasting disease. We were brought here to Chult, and set out from Port Nyanzeru several weeks ago, led by our guide, Azaka. We went first to the Fyrefinger; it was there we met Nephyr and freed him from the Pterafolk, driving them from that place, and hopefully ending the terror that they brought to travelers in the nearby jungle. From there we traveled to the ruins of Mezro, seeking some clue as to the source of this curse. We found there a group of ice giants, but wisely kept a wide berth. We believe they were seeking an artifact of power, but what exactly brings them to the jungles of Chult, we cannot say. We found little in the way of clues there, and set out for here.
"We have fought many battles against the dangers of the jungle. The Pterafolk, the Grung, raptors, spiders, giant turtles, undead, even the jungle itself. We have prevailed against them all, though not without cost. We have gained and lost traveling companions. Two left under the strain of the jungle, three others have been lost along the way. Those who remain are determined to see this through however, and we seek whatever aid we can find.
"We have made some headway, though honestly mostly it has come in the form of dreams and visions. We seek the lost city of Omu, believing that it may hold the key to this mystery, and we have some sense of where that may lie. We seek a mountain range containing three volcanoes, with another volcano standing alone nearby. That is now our destination. We believe this journey may be long and arduous, and any assistance you may offer us in this would be most welcome."
Sickle finishes and looks to the others to see if they have anything to add, then looks to the elder.
At the mention of the Soul Monger there is whispering in the room and looks. At the mention of Omu, the young human girl lets out a small gasp, and many Aarakocra's eyes dart towards her. After the story is told, there is a quiet in the room. The light scent of Pine wafts about. Some curious looks. Then the old Aarokocra speaks in her ancient crackling voice, "You're story is a compelling one. It is clear you are under the influence of Ubtao, and he has guided you here. Your quest will succeed. And you will free Omu from it's chains. Behind me stands the oldest descendent of the royal family of Omu. Princess Mwaxanare, seventeen, and proper ruler of the forgotten city. I foresee you bringing the city back from the brink, and allowing her to resume her families great rule, starting another wonderous age of prosperity for all of Chult. This I foresee." There is much nodding and murmering in the room. "But, you were not brought here just for that. We will help you make your journey. I will perform the dance of the seven winds, granting you the ability of the Aarakocra to fly the winds over the jungle. It is key to your bright future. However, every gift has a price. The ceremony requires a black orchid. They grow in a place dangerous to my people. Should you recover one, we will perform this sacred right and speed you onto your future. Fail to acquire the black orchid, and doom shrouds your future. Nangalore is the name of the place where the black orchid can be found. My people can give you more detail."
She waits to see if you have anything else to add or ask.

The old female Aarakocra eyes Badger with cagey suspicion, but answers his question seemingly openly, "Omu has suffered much evil. It was the first place in Chult Ubtao abandoned. It's fall from grace, nearly two hundred years ago followed on the heels of his departure. It survived a slow lingering wound for a hundred years more, but then some singular dark evil came to Omu and murdered and slew until none remained. That dark evil remains. It is said other evil creatures have taken up home in the ruins, but the singular dark evil is the core of the rotting fruit and must be destroyed. It is there you will find your Soul Monger, a rot at the heart of the entire world."
A short Aarakocra not taller than Badger shuffles up to him. Badger quickly realizes it's not a bird person, as it lifts it's head and you see it's a young human boy wearing a fairly convincing costume that is clearly made with great care. He says, "There's snake people there too. But I bet if the big evil was killed that people would come take care of some snake people."
The girl speaks, her voice imperious, her eyes radiating glory, "My young brother speaks truly, great warriors." She seems to gaze intently at each of them, as if drinking in their details. She focus' particularly on Boris, her eyes lingering on him. "However I am sure that once the evil is defeated, the city Port Nyanzaru, and the other kings of Faerun would send me troops to help cleanse the town of the evil Yuan-ti infestation. The world needs Omu's return, and the leadership we will provide. When I lift the Skull Chalice of Ch'gakare to the sky, they will know Chult has once again risen, and to aid us."
The old woman raises her voice, "These are matters for another time. You road before you is long and arduous, and is riddled with uncertainty and shadows. Concentrate there. As for boarding, yes, you may stay here. We will assign you quarters. For the days you are here we expect all to help with tasks. Cleaning, cooking, and repair work for an hour a day each is the cost of your stay. I hope you see this as very generous, for a safe haven from the harsh jungle."
The girl raises her voice, "Indeed, be safe here as long as necessary until you are fully ready to resume your quest." Her eyes dart to Boris twice more as she speaks.
The little boys whispers over to the gnome, "Are you a rock gnome? Rock gnomes are known for their inventiveness and tinker skills. I make small flying toys from folded paper and wood. I would enjoy showing you some of them and seeing if you can improve upon their designs, if you wouldn't mind of course."
