She'll walk about 60 feet away from the rest of the descending party, looking for a spot to hide and keep a look out should anything take notice of their activity. Stealth 22

Badger will take the next turn down the rope.

Silas can is planning on cleaning up when it's down to two people and Dimension Door with last person down. Silas is slapping Guidance on each person before they go down. 

(OOC: ** DM whistles innocently **) 

Badger, the first person visible to head down clings onto the rope, putting a foot into the loop, as Sickle, Silas, and Azaka begin lowering him. 

Badger thinks this is fun ...

Sickle will go after Badger if he makes it successfully down, nervously touching the feather shaped amulet as his neck, and keenly aware of the icy ring on his finger...

(OOC: maybe we should have gone to check out those gargoyles first...)

At the bottom of the cliff Mandra, Boris and Ham find themselves within a thick tangled briar.  Ham, upon landing, had hacked away enough of a space to get in, and had since cleared a small area, but Mandra finds it impossible to get through the tangled mess and reach the nearest building without using a fly spell.  

Meanwhile, Badger descends about 15 feet over the edge of the cliff.  In the least surprising turn of events possible, the group hears the sound of grinding stone, and look both ways to see the gargoyles on either said begin to move, shaking off vines, their heavy stone wings extending back and forth, dried leaves and detritus falling from their stone figures.  The both push off of the cliff and take to the air.

Azaka, Mandra, you're up.  What do you do?  Azaka, you're at the top of the cliff.  Mandra, you're at the bottom.

Badger is hanging 15 feet over the lip of the cliff which is around 130 feet high. Two Gargoyles are in the air about 50 feet away, both from different directions, and 140 feet in the air from the bottom of the cliff. 

Badger Initiative: 10

Unless anything changes, Badger will ascend back up the rope

Mandra, already keeping a wary eye on the gargoyles, moves into action as soon as she sees them begin to move. She becomes visible as she casts Fly on herself, uses her full movement to move 60ft upwards and away from the cliff so that she's within 120ft of the nearest gargoyle. Her fingers and words seem to move preternaturally fast and before hurling a Fire Bolt at the creature. Attack: 9 Fire Damage: 12

Mandra appears sixty feet up the from the bottom as she launches a bolt of fire at one of the gargoyles.  The bolt flies wide sailing into the air, arcing back down into the jungle far away. 

Azaka? 

Azaka seems to be stuck in indecision.  Meanwhile, the two gargoyles flap down towards Badger and fly ten feet over his head, taking swings at the rope.

The rope snaps as the two creatures slash it with their claws. 

Badger, you are falling. 

Everyone can take their actions, including Mandra who gets her 2nd round turn. 

In the split second after the rope snaps, Badger thinks: Sometimes I regret being right all the time, followed by: This feels somehow familiar

Badger will cast Misty Step targeting the tree limb to which the rope is attached, if that is within 30 feet, or a higher limb if in range, and then take the Hide action. If there is no tree branch within range, then he will target the highest available point on the rope, and then use his action to grab the rope, and ascend it with any available movement left.

Sickle looks at the gargoyles below him, and mutters something darkly under his breath, and yellow bands of magical energy begin to wrap around one of them,   tightening around its wings and pulling against it towards the ground.

Cast Earthbind targeting one of the gargoyles to bring it down near Boris and Ham. Strength Save DC 15, or descends safely at 60 feet per round.

"Badger! Still alive?" Silas drops the ropes, moving to the cliff and shout down then casts guiding bolt
