Mal slams the Tabaxi in the head with his pommel, and then again in a shoulder as the thing drops it's bow with a surprised grunt and spins around, two short swords pulling free of their sheaths.
Sickle begins to draw the magical energy together to blast a ray of cold at the creature but the ring on his finger seems to take over and a powerful blast of cold icy magic sprays across the roof of the house enveloping both Mal and the Tabaxi (Tabaxi Dex save : 8 )
Mal, make a Dex save DC 17. 47 cold damage, save for half.
Shocked by the rings action Sickle manages to growl out his command regardless.
Covered in an icy sheen, the Tabaxi stumbles back and drops both blades, his body shaking uncontrollably. "I surrender..." he says through clattering teeth.
From the log across the river Badger sneaks, his eyes scanning the far roofs. Then he notices a sudden commotion, spotting Mal, Sickle and a Tabaxi on the roof, Mal attacking with her blades but clearly trying to subdue. Then he sees the bright blue blast of cold energy spray across both Mal and the Tabaxi. The Tabaxi drops his blades, covered in frost, the air around him steaming with cold.

"On your knees cat, we mean you no harm unless you mean harm to us. We just want some questions answered about the area and the surroundings." Mal hisses out between clenched teeth and then takes out some rope and binds the hands and feet of the Tabaxi.
Then will whirl and approach Sickle hissing out, "What was that, are you trying to kill me as well? Be a little more careful next time or at least give me a heads up."
”I...I...I didn’t know you were jumping him. I...missed. It won’t happen again.” Sickle rubs his hand to warm it up. He looks a bit confused, now that the tabaxi has surrendered.
The Tabaxi glances back and forth between the frost covered Mal and Sickle, then back at Mal, "Oh, yes, yes, sorry. I took you as enemies. I'm sorry. Please, we are not safe here in the open. If you follow me back to my den, we can talk safely."

Shrugging the cold from her shoulders speaking through the pain to Sickle, "S'ok, just caught be off-guard." Then she will stick her head through the bushes and signal Badger and Silas to come up and join them. Once they arrive safely across the log she will signal the Tabaxi to lead on. She will also tie an extra rope to the rope around the Tabaxi's wrist and use it as a leash so the Tabaxi can not just run away.
"Quickly but quietly, lead on, we need to find some safety now." As she lets the Tabaxi lead on.
[OOC: Mal will definitely need a rest after this as I completely forgot how many hit points she has now, which is currently resides at 1, oops. :) ]
Hearing the sounds, his head snapped over in it's direction. His hands were already moving and he had his bow in one and arrow in another and his feet were taking him towards the sound. Eventually, he saw two figures upon a ruined building. One had surrendered. Good, he thought. That means its not undead, and that meant something was intelligent. Lowering his bow, he figured it was best to be hands off for the moment. He ducked back around the a corner opting to following them before deciding to reveal himself.
The old Tabaxi nods to his belongings, "Perhaps one of you could grab my belongings. They are a warriors only precious belongings."
The three clamber off the roof, the Tabaxi jumping down with agility. Badger and Silas show up a few moments later, picking their way through the undergrowth.
Silas, as you approach Mal and Sickle with their prisoner you look into the old Tabaxi's eyes. You see a glint that you've seen before shimmering there. It's the subtle shine of insanity.
Together, the four of you follow the Tabaxi. He leads you to a ruined building, and points at a crack in the ground that shows the sign of frequent use. "I'm down there." You proceed cautiously, but find that indeed the ruined basement is dry and mostly secure. Several gaps through the ceiling as well as some gaps around the perimeter let daylight leak in to the make shift camp.
Once inside, the Tabaxi looks to the group. "My name in Bag of Nails. I am sorry for the misunderstanding above. If you would allow me to, I will cook you some stew to celebrate our new friendship. I could certainly use the warmth. He rubs his frost bitten flesh where the spell had struck him. While I cook, I'd be happy to tell you my story and why I'm here. I'm searching for a fist sized stone of Opal known as the Navel of the Moon. It will help me find my son. He is missing."

The Goliath hung back and watched the party follow the Tabaxi. After seeing where they went, he'd go about searching for a position to keep an eye on them. Until he knows what to do about them, the safest route is to watch and wait. He groaned inwardly as he hated waiting, but his teacher would hang him by his feet and whip him if he considered going in and raising hell before knowing what their intentions were.
As the group pokes around Bag of Nails' basement Silas watches him. It's very clear to Silas that this creature has no intention of leaving any of them alive. There's insanity and murder in his soul.

He recounts a long story about his days past when his son was lost to him, and then learning the rumor of the Navel of the Moon. The stone apparently will lead you to your loved one if held and focused on. It's said to be somewhere within the ruins of Omu.
Badger reaches out, and immediately feels an overwhelming urge of fear and violence from the creature. His surface thoughts are focused on the stew, making you eat some stew...and a hollow gourd in his night pack that contains some sort of ground up powder. His mind is unlatched however as they dart from fear to murder and back. He has long given up trying to find the stone.

Mal will be moving about the "house" in time with the Tabaxi making sure to always be behind him. With the warning from Silas passed around, she will continue to do this with rapier in hand.
Badger will wait until Bag of Nails has finished his story, then will use the helm to suggest to the tabaxi that he should sit in the corner, answer their questions, and wait for instructions (DC 13 WIS save). If successful, Badger will then warn the others of the creature's villainy and ask Mal to check the goard. If the spell is unsuccessful, Badger will quickly warn the others of the poison anyway, and prepare for a confrontation.

Bag of nails looks at Badger, and, a fog over his eyes, nods and heads over to the corner. A few moments later Mal has the gourd of poison secured and the group huddles about to decide what to do.
Bag of Nails sits in the corner, quietly. His eyes darting about the group. He is on edge but quiet and seems to be waiting to be told what to do next.
The group examines the gourd. It contains a dark purple dust. Mal recognizes it as a rare poison called "Midnight Tears". She explains, "It stays in your system, and in the middle of the night, some say because your body is sleeping and that causes it's activation, some say it's when the clock strikes midnight....either way, the poison takes hold and in most cases is fatal."
The group eyes the psychotic unbalanced Tabaxi trying to figure out what to do with him. Leave him, and hope he doesn't try to hunt them down, end him here and now or tie him up or otherwise make it difficult for him to follow immediately, and assume he'll figure out how to escape before something kills him. He does have fangs and claws, so he can probably get out of a binding eventually. Thinking on this, the group looks over at his bound hands with suspicion.

"The way I see it we have three options. Kill him and be done with it or fix his madness, if we can, and then let him be on his way. Finally we could leave him tied up and hope he does not follow us when he escapes his bonds. Regardless of what we do this "house" of his seems pretty safe as it looks like he has been living her awhile so we might want to hold up for the night here. Seeing as he was attempting to murder us I have no problems killing him and being done with him. I can walk him outside to where the log is and push him over the side and into the lava and be done with him. what do you all think?" Mal says with no emotion in her voice.
