Grenk charges through though the wall of smoke from the fireball and into the room. Three large piles of vegetation are walkin around, with smoke rising from their bodies. They have arms and legs of sorts, but no real head or eyes. Grenk charges into the first one, his sword striking, sending chunks of greenery and plant flying, the flame sizzling into the damp vegetation with less effect than Grenk would have hoped. His second strike hits a hard root and does not damage, but he slams into the large mound and it topples over onto its back with a wet heavy thud.
Badger sends a blast of magic at one but it strikes a hard chunk of matter with little effect.
One of the non-prone ones takes a few steps towards Grenk and lashes out at him with vines and heavy vegetable matter.
Attack: 11 Damage: 16
Attack: 19 Damage: 13
The things clumsy attempts lash into Grenk's armor with no effect.

Sickle grimaces. “I hope this was necessary.” He grips his staff tightly, then points it toward one of the non-prone plant creatures (preferably one that looks the healthiest). With a slight motion, he speaks a word in a language not understood by anyone in the room, but it sends chills up their spines as he does.
(Casting Blight - DC 15 CON or take 37 Necrotic damage. If it is in fact a plant creature, or magical plant, it makes the saving throw with disadvantage and takes full 64 points of damage).

The creature seems to turn it's side at the last moment, the magic from your spell eating at a part of it full of wood and dirt. Still however any vegetation on its side shrivels and dies and turns black as the powerful spell eats away at the creature.

A sparkling bolt flies across the space and strikes the non-prone, partially hurt mound of vegetation, sending chunks of weeds flying.
Mal, your turn. One is prone (advantage on melee attacks, disadvantage on ranged attacks). One is glowing with sparkling light (advantage on any attacks). One is mostly unhurt, just smoking a bit from the initial fireball.

Mal slashes her scimitars into the mound of vegetation, sending weeds flying. The things pushes itself to it's feet, and, seeing Mal, makes a grab for her:
Attack: 27 Damage: 23
Attack: 20 Damage: 12
Another one moves forward at Grenk, taking two grabs at him.
Attack: 13 Damage: 9
Attack: 17 Damage: 9
The things seem powerful but clumsy, at least so far, and their grabs swing wide, though one clips Grenk pretty good with a backhand.
M1 is pretty injured.
M2 is very injured, and glowing (advantage on next attack).
Mal chops at weeds and shrubs sending bits flying, then withdraws, leaving Grenk facing three of the things by himself, while the rest of the group hangs back just out of the tunnel, blasting them with magic.
Silas?

The twice blighted, glowing creature, now sprayed with acid finally slumps down and the vegetation just sort of loses cohesion and spreads out in a big disgusting bubbling pile of rotting leaves and branches.
Another of the useless things (M3) attempts to bash Grenk a bit.
Attack: 21 Damage: 10
Attack: 27 Damage: 13
Surprising everyone with finally hitting, Grenk suddenly finds himself pulled inside the creature and the mass of vegatation envelopes him within it's viney body!
Grenk, you are blind, can't breath, grappled, and restrained.
