Badger casts his spell as the group moves past the cave full of Stirges and slip to the front of the cave entrance. The wind blowing past the cave entrance creates a loud whistling sound, as gusts buffet people. The view down is 120 feet to the tree line. Even from half-way up this tower, the group can see a lovely view of the jungle canopy in the light of the stars. Down, you imagine a person would look like an ant walking about. The cliff leads around the corner of the pillar. The old ladder is on the other side.

As the group moves through the stirges' cave, Badger notices Sickle looking curiously at the corpse. Badger tugs on Sickle's clothes to get his attention, then silently sits down and withdraws Yertle the lizard familiar from his beard and places him on the ground. Yertle scampers toward the corpse as Badger sits in a trance-like state beside Sickle...
(Badger will use the familiar's senses to investigate the corpse... Probably unnecessarily complex way to do it, as Sleep is long enough and secure enough to risk a bit of time and noise looting a body, but ... just to be on the safe side! Plus it's cooler.)

How does a red dragon blow out the candles on its birthday cake?
Krull and the lizard both dig around the corpse with Stirges deep in magical slumber above them. The corpse isn't as old as it had first appeared. It's maybe only a week or two, but it's been totally drained of blood and dessicated, so it appears older. Krull pulls a pouch off of a worn leather belt, opening it to see gold coins (50gp). The lizard spots a ring and pulls the gold and silver ring off of the finger. Krull finds another pouch with two figurines made of black stone inside. The two familiars return with their loot.

"How long does this spell last?" Silas questions as he very carefully tries to make his way pass the Striges to the cave entrance, he'll look down than up, "Anyone got any pitons? I do not like the possible fall from this height much less farther up so I think we should be secured a least tot this point," Silas will pull off his backpack then pulls out his hammer and rope.

The gold pouch contains 15gp. The ring appears to be worth about 60gp. The two figures are onyx and appear to be worth about 50gp each. Sickle recognizes them as they're brought over. They resemble the small forest creatures he'd seen that their guide had called Chwingas.
