Two of the North Tower Guards draw their long bow strings and fire from 40 feet to the North, their sights set on the huge beast.
The third guard stands to the side, taking a different approach. He begins to sing in a booming voice, exalting fallen heroes and calling his comrades to glorious battle.
First Ranger Shot - Attack: 10 Damage: 7
+ Radiant Damage 4
Second Ranger Shot - Attack: 13 Damage: 5
+Radiant damage 4
Crusader’s Mantle – Adding 1d4 Radiant damage to each ally within 30 feet
As the volley narrowly misses the Spider beast, the South guards move in.
The Ranger fires his long bow, while the other guard approaches more closely, coming up next to Leann and using a torch to light a rag hanging from the edge of a bottle. He tosses it towards the Drider with all his might.
Ranger Longbow - Attack: 23 Damage: 8
2nd Guard Bomb / Molotov - 3d6 upon Drider's Failed Save
Drider Save - 17
The Ranger's missile flies true and deep, burying itself into the beast's soft flesh on the side of its abdomen.
The bomb glances off its shiny back, the glass refusing to shatter as it falls uselessly to the sand, the rag snuffing out, the oil glugging away.

Meanwhile, Kat runs up behind Leann and the Guard, her eyes turning into fiery columns of red fury, leaping into the sky. She lets out an unearthly howl as the sky darkens above the Monstrosity and stretches across the battlefield, covering everything in shadow.
“De alsama' taqarar masirak!”she screams.
Thunder crackles as streams of lightning arc from the cloudy air above the Spider-thing, reaching for its glossy flesh.
The Drider attempts to dodge the bolt (I still think its hilarious that this is even an option!) – 14
Damage on Hit - 8
The Drider’s many eyes roll back as the electricity rips through it, leaving it steaming, but not even stunned. It smiles at Kat and gives an evil growl.

From Hadar's vantage point, there was no advantage here. Torn, bleeding, bruised, poisoned (twice), and having recently been stepped on, he was at a loss. He wants to kill this thing, he's angry to be on the floor, but really, he couldn't give a damn at the moment.
The Drider really did have a lovely pattern on his underbelly, Hadar thinks. Being that close to it, made him miss the Underdark a wee bit more.
Ouch! Ouch! Ouch!...as Hadar feels the sparks of electricity coming off the beast. That friggin hurts, too! "Fine," he grumbles to himself. He's gotta figure something out.
From his prone position, and with some pain, he flips on his belly to come up onto his knees. Readying to tackle the Drider's legs and use the rope, Hadar takes another hard look around and at the man-spider. What could possibly give him some advantage here?
Intelligence check with disadvantage = 9 (my bad, I forgot poisoned applied across the board)
Hadar’s wound oozes viscous blood mixed with a strange, bluish sheen as he rolls over and comes to his crouching position. He wracks his brain for some sort of strategy or memory of a Drider’s weaknesses, but just can’t place it. Maybe he’s hit his head harder than he thought.
Getting a good view of himself as he looks down to rise to his knees, he realizes that he still appears to be glowing with a simmering flame, strangely visible against the sun despite its almost black appearance. This doesn’t bode well for his fight against the Drider.
He can see the larger group closing in from all sides and the Beast firing an arrow into apparently unoccupied air near Ashissa. It appears to be an almost intentionally awful shot.
From his prone position, his heightened senses can’t help but feel the ground shaking just slightly and an eerie shifting and creaking coming from behind Eriana and Rob as they cling to the Southeast corner of the Great Hall. His Ranger-mind remains strangely trenchant, despite his addled thoughts and lack of strategic thinking.
Leann approaches the beast and attacks, but her slash glances off of the Drider’s smooth shell, failing to make purchase. The steel resonates with the hum of thunder waiting to be unleashed, yet stifled.

Baku continues to observe the drider from the skies while Ashissa creates another beam of crackling energy at it before she shuffes five feet within the illusion's range so as to not let the monstrosity know her current location after firing such attack.
The Drider shrugs Ashissa's blast off without much more than a wince, glancing at the Celestial as if trying to understand where the bolt even came from.
As the Eldritch Blast fizzles out, the 3 guards from the North make a battle cry and attack again. The 2 Rangers release their arrows in unison:
1 Guard- Attack: 9 Damage: 5
2nd Guard- Attack: 6 Damage: 4
The first guard's arrow goes wide, nearly clipping Kat in the shoulder as it finds ground to the South.
The second man's bowstring snaps loose and slaps across his face, his arrow falling harmlessly to the ground.
The the 3rd guard stands between the two Rangers. Dipping his hands into a pouch on his belt, he pulls out handfuls of finely ground iron filings and claps his hands slowly in an odd rhythm as he turns his song to a low, guttural tone. As the metal dust puffs from his hands, sparks fly around the cascading filings, little flames bursting from them as they hit the ground.
The resonance from the claps seems to echo around the Drider, and the air around its second sword, still in its sheath, seems to steam and radiate an intense heat.
Heat Metal- Drider will take 3d8 fire damage if it draws its 2nd sword. Must make a CON saving throw or drop the sword if it can.
If it doesn’t drop the sword, it has disadvantage on attack rolls and ability checks until start of the 3rd guard's next turn.

The Southern Ranger fires his longbow again, a stoic look of concentration on his face. The arrow sparkles in the sunlight and the tip seems to leave a frosty trail in its wake.
Frost Arrow +1 Attack: 7 Damage: 7

Drider CON Saveagainst halved speed from Frost Arrow - 20
The blueish arrow glances off the Drider's shiny shell and the tip shatters, spraying ice into the air above its back.

The 2nd Southern guard holds another Bottle Bomb above his torch and lights the cloth wick, aiming his throw and letting fly, shouting out a warning to Leann so she doesn't get caught in the blast.
Drider Dex Save against Bomb Damage 21
On Fail - 14 Fire Damage
The bomb makes contact with the beasts back, exploding in a glassy fireball. The heat from the blast crisps the Drider's back and it turns its burning red eyes toward the thrower with hatred.
As the bomb explodes, Kat points an accusatory finger at the Monstrosity and shouts "Sawf tafeal kama qult!"
Tunist continues to drag Erin's corpse out of the Great Hall, passing the terrified Rob and Eriana and angling South, coming up to the North side of the Lighthouse.
As she passes by the Wellhouse, her ears perk up, and she pauses, but continues dragging with purpose.
The Drider turns its hateful eyes from the Guard with Firey Bottle bombs and looks further back to see Kat Commanding him like she had some right to expect such a thing.
It laughs deeply with an evil tone, sighting her with its bow and firing a steady shot as it squints its eyes to try and see clearly.
Bow attack @ Disadvantage - Attack:19
Damage on Hit4 + Poison3
As the arrow sinks solidly into Kat's shoulder, she cries out in pain. Her face goes pale as she smells the acrid poison dripping from her wound.
The Drider holds its freehand out in front its chest waves its fingers in the air. The air in a 15 foot globe around the beast goes inky black, enveloping Leann as she stands within sword's length, and the crouching Hadar 10 feet away.
Darkness - Cast stationary on the ground.
The sounds of 7 massive spider legs scraping across the sand can be heard by all before the Monstrosity bursts out of the back of the Darkness, leaping the gap between the spell effect and the Great Hall doorway. Standing in the shadows of the archway, it blinks its eyes several times before smiling and firing another arrow at Kat, then leaping up into the rafters, favoring the stump of its severed leg.
Longbow Attack: 12
As the Drider disappears into the darkness of the Hall, the arrow flies over her head to bounce off of the Lighhouse tower behind her.
Leann, please roll an opportunity attack @ Disadvantage.
There is an unsettling rumbling underfoot that everyone in the area can now feel.
Over the din of battle a buzzing sits on everyone's eardrums. There is a strange tingling in the air accompanied with an ever growing scent of foul sulfur and old Earth.
Rob and Eriana are no longer standing at the edge of the Great Hall. None of the villagers who are not present on the battlefield seem to be nearby at all anymore.

Hitting the deck after the firebomb, Hadar once again rises to a crouching position only to hear the damn thing go back into the Hall. He's really starting to hate this crappy place.
Blinded (again), Hadar can really feel the trembling of the earth now and he probably should know what to do with that info. But, as everything seems to be slipping through he grasps, he does what he does best, and throws insults at the beast until something comes to him he can hit or get behind or whatever.
So just as something flies over his head, he leans back on his feet and spits out in undercommon towards the hall, "What the hell are you trying to hit over there? Are you really this thick? Lolth would be so disappointed in you. Shoulda took me up on my offer, no?"
