As Hadar presses Erin's corpse against the door, the blueish field around the frame sizzles and pops, sending a humming sensation through his body.
Hadar examines the door, and a glowing hand print pulses near its center. He continues lifting and places Erin's hand firmly against the hand print.
The field immediately snaps out of existence, and the hand print quickly expands, leaving a resonant energy across the stone slab in the entry way. Before the small group's eyes, the slab slides up into the tower, revealing a small wooden double-door.
The doors appear to be ancient and weather-beaten, a bluish hue of old paint chipping away on their surface. They look as though they'd as easily fall off their hinges as swing on them. The right side door shudders a bit in the breeze as if asking to be entered.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Ashissa forgoes her chance to attack as she telepathically orders Baku to perform a Stinging attack at the prone drider while she retreats behind the two guards near her and throws a mischievous wink and a playful flying kiss on their direction.
Sting. Melee Weapon Attack: Attack: 22 Damage: 5 Piercing Damage, and the target must succeed on a DC 11 Constitution saving throw or become poisoned for 1 hour. If the saving throw fails by 5 or more, the target falls unconscious for the same duration, or until it takes damage or another creature uses an action to shake it awake.
Golhern the ranger raises his eyebrows and whistles as the attractive warlock runs by. The monster had been brought to its knees and laid to a tenuous rest by the loveliest ladies he had seen in years and he was more than a little bit excited about the whole thing. Grinning ear to ear, he turns to Damh the bard and Quinn the ranger and laughs.
Kat brings them all back to reality as she claps her hands together loudly. "Let's keep our brains out of our pricks, boys."she spins on her heal and steps to runs a few paces back and around the South edge of the darkness before shouting "Where are Eriana and Rob?! Make yourselves useful and go check on them."
Golhern and Quinn run toward the Well house. Entering the foggy miasma hesitantly, calling out for Eriana and Rob, their yellowed silhouettes disappear into the doorway.
Damh joins Kat at her post between the dark globe and the Light house and lays a hand on her shoulder reassuringly, guarding her back.
Kat raises her hands aloft and claps her hands above her head. Half of the valley shakes with an ear-splitting Thunder and the doorway to the Great Hall creaks and groans, the ancient stones and wood buckling beneath the weight of the roof as the sonic onslaught rips away the mud sealing it all in place.
The doorway to the Great Hall is now inaccessible.
Kat turns a sad eye to the seemingly forgotten remains of Old Mordecai, half buried in the sand and rubble, before turning to hurry towards the Light house, Damh in tow.
Tunist bursts through the twin doors as Kat's thunder exlodes through the long canyon, yelping painfully at the sound. A cloud of dust puffs from the filthy mastiff into the small antechamber.
The room is only about fifteen feet round, marbled blue stone tiles lining its floor and a rusty spirla staircase running up in coils to the top of the tower, in shadows above. The taper of the structure is slight, but the cramped interior only becomes more claustrophic in the tower above.
The room is barren except a small desk with several drawers and glass jars atop it. Everything is covered in a layer of fine, sandy dust.
Jimmer and Twinly step into the room behind Tunist as she turns to bark loudly, the sound echoing up the inner tower like a cannon. She sniffs at the desk before gazing up into the tower, wuffling inquisitively.
As the two men enter, an eerie light rises from the blue tiles, lighting the interior slowly. Starting at the floor, the illumination rises along the inner walls up into the shadows, lighting the staircas to the top of the 30 foot tower. There is a small hatch near the top.
Twinly looks back out to Hadar and then to Tunist. "Any ideas here folks?"
Meanwhile, the Well house sits silently after the two Rangers make their ingress.
The fog folds in on itself, retreating into the small hut behind the Rangers, eliciting confused shouts of alarm, followed by a gut wrenching, gagged scream.
A solid boom, followed by two more shakes the metal roof of the building before it explodes outward in a cloud of sand and rocks, the debris cascading across the canyon for 30 feet in every direction.
Ashissa, Kat and Damh all need CON saves DC... 8 LMAO
From out of the cloud, a gangling, towering hulk emerges, continually shedding its own yellow-green, filthy slime skin and reforming it all at once in a ghastly cascade. The sun seems to boil the surface of its slime, pockets hissing and popping along it.
A huge, orange eye bobs within its trunk, heaving in and out of the goop as droplets and stringy projections run across its surface. Innumerable limbs and eyes and mouths rise and fall across the disgusting thing's surface, forming and melting and forming again, almost randomly.
Quinn's legs are protuding from a wrything orifice 5 feet up its height, still squirming and twitching as if he is being devoured alive. There is no sign of Golhern or any of the other villagers.
The things upper half splits open and it lets out a coughing, labored gurgle, slime flying through the air. The great eye twitches toward the general direction of Ashissa, Kat and Damh as the twisted maw belches out a wet and thunderous voice.
"Brou'ka slanos, vel'bol inbal dos xunor xuil ussta wanre?!" bile fizzes against the hot sand as it bursts from within the demonic tower of ever-shifting filth and falls around the Well house.
"We have come to retrieve Lolth's bounty from this place. The time for patience is gone. Where is the human known as Mordecai?"
Ashissa feels that same creeping presence from earlier claw at her mind, this time squeezing and attempting to find hold within her skull with a heavy, magical pressure.

Hadar was truly mystified by the magic of the door and floors of the lighthouse. He thought it beautiful and practical. His musings, however, were cut short at the sound of the bellowing monster.
Not waiting to see what else was happening, he stepped into the lighthouse and closed the doors. Securing them from inside with his rope and using his crowbar as a latch.
"That's probably not going to hold anyone of means, but it'll slow them down a bit," he states mostly to himself.
He turns to his fellow soldiers and exclaims, "Shits gettin' worse out there, boys! Got anything else to bar the door with? If not, let's see what's in that desk and get that hatch open."
(What does Leann know about this creature Is she aware the lighthouse was opened? Does she know where Mordekai's body is? So lots of questions before I can take my turn...)
Leann moves to the back of the light house, keeping out of sight of the monster, whatever it is. She does not think she could stand against such a thing and is not about to throw her life away just now. She will move around the base of the tower, as long as she can stay out of sight of the thing. If she can get to the door this way great, otherwise she just does the hide behind the tower.
Leann successfully makes it to the door of the Lighthouse, only to find the door slamming shut in her face as Hadar closes it and attempts to bar it closed.
She really tries to be stealthy, but it’s not her strong suit. She is fully hidden from the large, dripping monster behind the Light house.
Ashissa’s mind is taken and she feels an overwhelming force compel her to run to Leann's covered position behind the tower and raise her spell focus against her.
As a noxious spray springs from her energies towards Leann, Ashissa feels her mind being probed deeply and intensely.
Leann – Make a DC 14 CON save or take the following Poison Damage:

Baku, still linked to its master’s dominated will, flies higher into the air to survey the canyon, searching for what the Monster seeks. It spots the twisted form half buried in the rubble of the Great Hall’s door and flies in closer to have a look. Scratching the sand aside, it finds the tattooed arm of Mordecai and notifies Ashissa through their link.
Her voice is compelled back to the Creature as it masters her – “We have found what Lolth seeks.”
Damn and Kat stand at the base of the Tower, covering their faces as particles of poisonous spray arc from Ashissa’s magics nearby.
Kat, not sure why Ashissa has turned, decides to take the enemy at her back and turns angrily toward the wellhouse and spins her hands elegantly into the air before throwing her fist into the sand violently, dropping to her knees and screaming in fury – “Zalamuk yakun mlewnana!”

Damh, tries to maintain his composure as the spell effects barrage his senses. Turning to the nearby Leann, he warns her calmly as he approaches from slightly behind and to her side, laying his soft hand on her armored shoulder. “There are only friends behind you, breathe deeply Daughter of the Light.”

Meanwhile, behind the closed door of the Lighthouse, Tunist begins barking ravenously at the sound of Kat’s voice screaming above the sounds of battle.
She begins ramming the door, with solid head butts and body slams.
Slamming the door 4
Twinly the fighter and Jimmer the ranger look at each other in confusion with the sudden flurry of activity outside and growing unease as Hadar closes the door.
Twinly takes off up the spiral staircase without much hesitation, reaching the hatch and feeling around the edge of it. "I think its locked! There is…” he pauses awkwardly, “another blue handprint up here…” He grimaces and looks down the small opening in the staircase to the two rangers below.
Jimmer gives Hadar a look and takes a deep breath, “I suppose that makes it my turn.” He gruffly pulls the Light house Keeper’s arm towards him, drawing a hand axe and bringing it down sharply on the dead wrist.
Will it come off immediately? It’s just a hatchet! :-\
The Creature gives an otherworldly howl, reminiscent of a wolf, pig and the shifting of a bloody slurry all combined. Moving forward, it shatters the rest of the Well house before it, quickly closing the distance between itself and Kat.
As it undulates across the sand, its form shifts rapidly, and as Kat watches in horror, it takes the shape of a huge black spider, 6 feet tall at its head and chattering gigantic, frothing mandibles under wickedly sharp 10 inch fangs.

As the first fang pierces her chest, Kat's lung collapses and she gags, blood cascading from her mouth and nose as her eyes lol in her face. The tooth slides neatly out the back of her rib cage before flicking back out of her torso, a trail of blood and venom shimmering a trail behind it.
The second fang finds itself deep inside her belly, and she manages a quietly pained moan before the fang retracts. She drops to her knees, then falls back to the ground on her back. Her eyes have gone inky black and her wounds festerd and boil with reddish orange ichor.
She reaches towards Damh and rasps with her remaining breath – “The crevasse, Damh.”
