Fingolin, Tennanaz, Arell: The rest of the group waits behind in the tunnel. “If you think there are supplies that can help, we will wait out here. We aren’t going to risk the egg coming into any danger. Reginald does help move the rocks out of the way which makes what would be at least an hour’s work last 20-30 minutes. Clearing enough room to get through to the door. The door opens. As the hinges are on the right. The door falls down and slamming against the inside of the tower. Looking inside the room, it appears to be a library. All the shelves are toppled on top of each other, in this mound of books, broken wood and torn scrolls. There seem to be some lock boxes, portraits of mages and wizards fixed to the wall, display cases - some broken some not. Hopping down onto the wall/now floor you stumble as try to right yourself as the curved tower and debris is beneath your feet. The room would be rather dark, except the a chandelier with an ever lit fire hangs cocked to the right(downward) glows blue into the room.
Solomon/ Fouder: you leave quickly before the men wake up and get to a position to question your hanging about. Skink gets distracted quickly as there seems to be lizards and it begins to hunt during the journey. But it’s easy enough to keep going north in the city, as you remember it’s the forest that will be complicated to find the exact spot where Cembessa’s forces reside. Some enchantment on the forest it sounds like. You can’t tell to look overhead to see if Kolyyt is following above, but you don’t see any signs of him. After some time you come across the edge of the city as there are several collapsed portions throughout its easy enough to make your way into the edge of the woods. (Anything you would like to do before the next stretch, keeping an eye out for anything, if not you continue forward and need a new survival, nature, or intelligence check)
Fingolin's face lights up at the wealth of books, even as he realises he won't have the time to search that pile properly. "If you give me 10 minutes I can check for any magical signatures, in case any of the boxes or cases are protected by magical means." As he speaks, his eyes peruse the book covers visible at the top of the pile for anything that could be related to interplanar travel, or planes philosophy.
Fouder grimaces as he realises that finding the enchanted area is going to be difficult. "Can you Detect Magic? Unfortunately my study of the arcane has primarily revolved around evocation."
Fouder keeps watching and listening for sounds that anyone else is in the area with them. "I suggest we continue into the woods regardless. There is nothing for us in the city."

"Sadly not my friend. I've not had an opportunity to study this spellbook either", he says, patting the side of his backpack, "and I fear it may take more than a quick browse of the pages to decipher."
On reaching the edge of the woods, Solomon stops and looks around to get his bearings, scanning their surroundings for any signs of Kolyyt or his troops.
Perception: 7
"Common sense would dictate an army needs fresh water, regardless of the terrain. Of course it can be supplied magically, but why expend the effort if you have a body of water to hand? It may be worth finding and following nearby waterways, at the very least for our own benefit."
Fingolin, Tennanaz, Arell: You begin to clear away some of the clutter as you begin to search for anything of use. Arell picks up a broom and begins to use it to sweep things away. Fingolin begins to ritually cast his spell, while Tennanaz begins to look over a few of the display case/locks. Unfortunately it appears these display cases are lock by some arcane means and he has difficulty freeing them from their containers. Looking through the glass of the boxes Tennanaz sees a black pearl, an amber Rod, and a very large diamond that looks beautifully cut. Fingolin’s vision goes purple as several small lights pop up in his vision. Firstly he notices the broom Arell sweeping with is glowing with enchantment energy. A light general magical aura is found in one of the cases - one surviving bottle of ink and paper (for writing spells), you also notice another quill and book that are bound together with a red leather band, glowing with enchantment energy as well. Scraping through the books you find a thick tome that looks it was to do with planar travel. It’s way too big and as you scroll through it, you realize it was written in a way over your head. Taking (several hours and some checks to try and understand it). On the far side of the wall is another door. It’s up about 15 feet in the air, sideways just like the one you entered.
Fouder/Solomon: you look to each other for a moment as you scan the edge of the woods for a spot to enter the thick brush, hesitantly you find a spot and begin your travels. You begin to walk through the forests as the sun is scattered and shaded from the canopy overhead. The shade is welcome from the heat of the sun, the dry leaves crunch under each step. You being to notice a footstep here and there, signs of tracking: broken twigs and paths people seem to take. You begin to wander a bit in the woods. Without so much a clause of where water is. (It’s been some time, months even since there has been a proper rain). You continue to sweep across the forest finding some tracks here and there. A human bolt print leads you to a spot that opens up into a small clearing. Fouder looks down and sees a larger footprint and thinks to himself “that’s bigger than before.” Looking up to see in the clearing, a grown bear. Amber fur is currently standing on its back legs as it investigates a bee hive up in a tree.
"That broom is magical, Arell. Maybe you can command it to sweep by itself." Fingolin wants to pick up the bound book, but the magical aura makes him cautious. He tucks the thick tome in the Haversack* and, pointing at the quill and book bundle, says "Tenezzaz, could you give that book over there a spectral poke to make sure it's safe to pick up?"
Arell blinks in surprise, then takes a long look at the broom in his hands. With a shrug he holds it out with one hand, upright, and simply says, "Sweep,"as he releases the handle.
The broom falls over immediately, you get the sense that you will have to identify or spend some time with it to understand what it does as well as the command word. Same goes for the book, no harm comes from investigating it.

Fouder wracks his brains for what he knows about bears such as the one in front of him. How much of a threat does it pose? He nudges Solomon gently, gesturing to the creature, holding a finger to his lips.
Arell grins sheepishly as he reaches down to pick up the broom again. "Not that simple, I suppose." he says softly, then glances about the room, specifically paying some attention to the other exit. "Perhaps we should return here after ensuring the egg has a safe, new home. My curiosity is piqued, but perhaps our new Elven friends are not so patient."

After the broom falls to the ground: "Well... It was worth a try! It's still magical, so it might be useful once we understand what it does."
Fingolin picks up the bound book and quill, his mood rising in anticipation of what he might find in it and the thick tome. He then tries to open the case with the ink pot and paper to collect those, too.
"Some interesting items, too bad there's no food." Nodding towards the case Tenezzaz tried to open, he says "We could try to smash it open... maybe a bolt will break the glass."He goes to take a closer look as he says that.
Solomon half-crouches at Fouder's nudge, freezing as he clocks the bear ahead. He tears up a few blades of grass and throws them in the air, hoping to determine whether they are up/downwind of the creature.

Tennezaz nods but shakes his head as he does not want to risk a trap being set. With a quick glance at the case once again he will try to open it with his specialized Mage Hand.
Fouder/Solomon: Solomon throws the grabs up in the air and sees that the wind travels East, while they are South of the bear. Unfortunately he snaps a twig under his foot as he repositions. Catching the bears attention brings its two front paws off the tree as it faces your direction. In that brief moment Fouder tries to remember what he knows of bears. He knows that there are two types of bears that look like this. Grizzly bears and more traditional brown bears. He recalls Grizzly bears you are supposed to play dead and hope it’s not too hungry as fighting one usually doesn’t turn out too well once provoked, Brown bears you are supposed to look intimidating and shout as loud as possible to scare it off. He doesn’t feel certain as to which bear he sees before him.
Fingolin recognizes these items as spell components for higher level spells. Maybe worth keeping onto just in case. Unfortunately Tennanaz is having a difficult time with these locks and can’t get it open. No traps are triggered.
Panicking, Fouder casts Thaumaturgy, creating harmless tremors in the ground in the hope that this will scare the bear off before it gets too close. He like to think he'd be able to fight the bear off, but the world seems to have turned on its head since the Sundering.
"Rhaich! You know what? I'm going to take the whole case." Fingolin says as he picks it up under his right arm. "I need to get that Haversack back...You are right Arell. As much as I would like to spend more time here, we should get going."

Fouder and Solomon: You unleash your spell as the ground lightly shakes underfoot (there are limitations to a cantrip level spell). Just as everything else you’ve seen in the world for the past few months. The bear looks a little lean and possibly hungry. The bear stands on its back paws once more unleashing a loud roar. Before it begins to charge. Initiative!
