Before he returns to the ground to make camp for the night, Gerrack circles the sky one last time, looking for any small game that might serve as an evening meal.

Afterwards, he returns to the ground with a click of disappointment... any sense of relaxation he experienced while airborne shrivels away the moment his feet touch earth. Shaking out his wings, he approaches the camp and begins to set up his bedroll with a practiced air; noticing Gimble volunteering for the first watch, he nods in gratitude.
"I-I could take the t-third watch, if no-one else is w-w-willing. I would prefer not to stand a-alone, but will d-do so if n-needs be."
"I'll take first watch as well." Misty says, sitting up with the new gnome. (She still considers him and the bird-guy new enough to think of them by titles instead of names at this point...)

(OOC: @ everyone, i fail to mention it before since its the "end" of the day everyone should mark off a ration. [unless you have some sort of other food, i forget who but i think someone hunted a hare on the trip up? since we had change in players that person might be gone.] If for whatever reason you weren't able to eat something let me know.)
After the evening's meal, everyone but Gimble and Misty went to bed. The two did typical watch things, walk around the camp, look around, etc. Gimble having the eyes of hawk and the ears of a fox (OOC: i hope you all get the reference, haha.) notice somethings off tonight. Gimble listens carefully and looks around, and he gets the feeling someone is out there. More than that, theres quite a few people... we are in-fact surrounded! Gimble wakes/warns the party. (OOC: i'll leave the specifics/rp of that to you, whether its quiet or you shouting at everyone we are under attack.)
(OOC: @ everyone, roll initiative, and since Gimble got a natural 20 on perception, i'll say everyone gets to roll initiative with advantage.)

Gimble picks up on movements and sounds in the brush surrounding the camp. (Whispering) "Hey Misty, no sudden moves. I have definitely picked up on several people moving about the camp, just outside our perimeter. Just play along. (No longer whispering) Hey do you play cards? I have a deck back in my pack, give me a sec, I'll go grab it and be about in a minute."
On his way to the his pack, he chooses his path so that he is able to find some cooking pans to bump into so that some noise can be made to wake his peers. "Ouch! Damn pots, who put that crap there. Sorry guys, sorry, my bad." Bending down to his pack to get his cards, he whispers to those closest to him, "No sudden moves but, get armed, we have company."
On his way back to Misty he shuffles his cards, all the while, eyeing the perimeter. Waiting for movement and opportunity. "Hey Misty, that Gerrack guy breathes so loud, i could probably shoot him in the dark. (Whispering) You ready? See what I'm saying? Get the others goin, I want to try to get behind them. (No longer whispering) I need to go hit the head, I'll be right back, sorry."
(OOC: Since i got the nat 20, id like to try to work my way into the shadows outside of the camp light and try to get to a position of advantage against at least one of these guys)
At the loud clatter of pans, Gerrack jolts awake with a squawk. He automatically rolls into a defensive position, arms up and wings extended, ready to take to the sky. You get the feeling it wouldn't have mattered whether Gimble was yelling about the camp being on fire or simply tripping on his way to a bathroom break; Gerrack is just that tightly wound all the time. His posture eases slightly when he realizes that he's not under immediate attack, but his feathers are still decidedly ruffled, and there's a bit of a wild-eyed look to him as his eyes dart over the camp anxiously.
Korhil comes out of his meditation and begins to scan the area while he slowly slides a dagger out of his boot sheathe. His bow in unstrung since he wasn't on watch or staying guarded.
Keeping one eye closed he quicky douses the campfire and moves back to his bed roll with his quarter staff at the ready. At this point he opens both eyes.
Yes, he was sleeping in his heavy armour, because it's the only armour he has right now.

(OOC: no, the roll was too low, and i don't consider your character proficient at hunting so the dc is pretty high.)
(OOC: @ everyone, i did notice most of you do not have bedrolls and/or tents. i won't punish you by saying you won't get a long rest or anything like that. But keep in mind sleeping on the ground with no camping equipment is very uncomfortable.)
(OOC: @ everyone, i also noticed some of you didn't roll initiative with advantage. I'm not sure if i wasn't clear that everyone gets advantage with the initiative roll because Gimble and Misty were so aware of the ambush they awoke everyone to be ready for the ambush. if you chose to just not take advantage that is fine too.)

GERRACK is attacking Red Brand Bandit 2
Gerrack lets out a piercing shriek of surprise and reflexively lashes out with his staff at the bandit rushing towards him.
Action - Attack (staff as 2-handed weapon): 18 Damage: 6
He then whirls around for a roundhouse kick with his talons extended.
Bonus Action - Unarmed Strike: Attack: 14 Damage: 6
Rather than move, Gerrack extends his wings to their full span, hoping to provide some cover for Finnian with the display.
