In the city of Uwark, a dwarf named Greg Greenspear asked you to escort him while he brings a wagonload of provisions to the capital Emberhorn city, twelve days travel northwest of the city. Greg was clearly excited and explaining that he got hired by these brothers who had found “something big”. Greg will pay you ten gold pieces each for escorting his supplies safely to Emberhorn city. He gets his supply wagon and the oxen pulling the wagon ready.
The party know as the fated eight (i believe that is the party name everyone agreed on.) went to go meet Greg at the center of the city where the agreed meeting place was. the Streets of Uwark are crowded with people going to and from their various places of business. Upon getting to the meeting they do see a dwarf. The dwarf seemingly recognizing the party says:
Greg Greenspear: (to the party) “Hello Adventurers! Welcome to the city Uwark! I am very pleased that so many have showed up to take on this job. You all have a brave look about you, which is the sort of Adventurers I need.” “The job is I need some tough and brave adventurers to protect the wagon of supplies I am driving to the capital. I know it is a long trip, but you will be well paid, ten gold coins each.” “I am not expecting trouble, just want to be prepared for some. Goblin and orc raiders have been reported in the region, and there is a notorious group of bandits that prey on merchant wagons.” “We got a long way to go so let’s start our journey.”

Adjusting the pack on her back, Misty sighs as she considers the long treck ahead of them. She nods to her companions though as she checks to make sure her shield is safely strapped to her pack and her crossbow is secured at her hip. "Azuth, let me find knowledge and learning on this journey.." She murmurs under her breath. She looks over the wagon then, trying to determine if they are to ride or walk.
Hati is standing near Boo, glaring about at anyone who who approaches the cart (aside from the party). With a quick, strong beat of his wings, he propels himself up and perches himself on the top rim of the wagon, waiting for them to get out of the city before beginning to circle from above. He glances down at the party, and monotonously says, "I'll watch the skies. Bird," Referring to Sikek, "Will you be joining me." He really doesn't care either way, and makes that clear with both his tone and facial expression, but is at least trying to be polite by asking.
Boo will rush towards Greg, sliding on his knees and planting his face an inch into the ground. Boo cannot bow deeper! If he does, Boo shall be lost in the sand! But wait, the rest of his body shall be free! What luck! Praise be to Llirra! "One thousand 'thank you's' for this opportunity, my lord! It shall be done! Boo says so! He does!! Boo is me, by the way. I am Boo. Hello to you. " Boo is now sitting upright, still kneeling. "Might you need anything else; a birthday. Retirement party. A FUNERAL! Need contact no one else, but Boo! " He violently bows his head into the dirt again.
The sun is shining, the city's square thrums with conversation, and the Fated Eight have a job. Finnian gives his rusty red traveling cloak a few last minute adjustments before he settles in for a long trek. He makes sure to give their new employer a firm handshake before the little caravan heads out, saying to Greg, "Plenty reasonable, plenty wise! But don't worry yourself, our little band is more than up to fighting off whatever comes our way." Having said his piece, Finnian takes up a position by the wagon and begins to stretch, flashing his companions the occasional smile as they all waited to head out.
Hansel saunters up to the front and looks down at Greg. The goliath's hands brandishes his greatsword Roy before motioning to the rest of his companions. "Aye, we are greatful to meet you Greg. There is nothing that The Fated Eight cannot take." He stands at the wagon, ready to leave. "Orcs, goblins, angry innkeepers. They are no match for the Fated Eight."

Edmond Hawkbreaker, Paladin
Edmond finishes his stretching, checks his shield and hammer are at ready hand, and looks around to see if anyone else is paying close attention Greg's wagon, or it's contents, or his companions.
Perception 9
Good Morning to you, Mr Greenspear. I believe we are all ready to go. And we will do our best to be nice to the innkeepers on this trip.
Although, for some innkeepers, there is a certain element of fun involved....
She looks over the wagon then, trying to determine if they are to ride or walk.
The wagon is packed full of an assortment of mining supplies and food. some of the items are sticking out of the boxes and crates in the back of the wagon. there is enough room on the wagon to sit next to the driver. Greg notices you looking over the wagon. Greg Greenspear: (to the party) "Every box is necessary, so do your best to protect it. With all of you this should be an easy job."
He does!! " He violently bows his head into the dirt again.
Greg turns towards Boo. Greg Greenspear: (to the party) "Take it easy there... Boo. I'll i need you adventurers to do is make sure my cargo and i make it safely to Emberhorn City. Now get off the ground, i doubt its very clean."
Greg shakes Finnian's hand. Greg Greenspear: (to the party) "I certainly wasn't expecting such friendly adventurers. This might be quite a pleasant trip."
Greg Greenspear: (to the party) "Alrighty, it sounds like you are ready to go." Greg checks on his oxen and then hops on the rider's seat in the wagon. With a very gentle pull on the reins the oxen start heading northward out of the city.
(OOC: i'll want to know marching order/ positions around the wagon. the positions would be left of the wagon, to the right of the wagon, behind the wagon, or infront of the oxen. one person could ride the wagon with Greg.)
The party leaves the crowded city, there are other wagons heading the same direction, as well as wagons coming from this direction.

As they prepare to start out Misty will move over and climb up onto the wagon next to the driver. She shoves her pack under the seat, but keeps her crossbow near at hand.
"Do we plan on camping out at night or will there be lodging at waystops as we go?" Misty asks Greg as the wagon starts to move.
Edmond places his shield and warhammer on the cargo ready to be grabbed quickly, taking up position on the right side of the wagon, quarterstaff in hand.
We can do either one, Misty. Though an inn would probably be better for Mr Greenspan, his cargo, and his ox.
(Edit to uncheck shield and 'hammer to show them as unwielded)
(OOC Sikek will fly in front, trying to scout a wide area)
Sikek takes a talon and draws it across his abdomen, drawing thin crimson lines of blood into a runic symbol, anyone close to him has seen him perform this ritual, but when asked about it he just replies "Personal"
As they start off, Finnian takes up a position on the left side of the wagon. Before they leave the gate, he makes sure that his sling is still in its place loosely tied around his left bicep; in easy reach in case of trouble. Hearing Edmond and Misty chatting, Finnian adds in his own two coppers.
"With any luck there'll be a little of both. If we spend every night by a warm fire, we'll go soft!"
Glancing between Edmond and Finnian, Misty shrugs. "I just was checking with our friend Greg here to see what the plan was." She explains. "I like to know what to expect... You know how I am..." She shares a smile with each of them, since they should know by now that she is a planner and likes to know what is coming up if possible.

"Sadly there is no lodgings along this road. We'll be camping each night somewhat near the road. I can make the camp fire each night if that helps."
