(OOC: Reminders: Sebastian gets a good look at the castle from the sky. The Castle Entrance has two adjacent towers with arrow slits, Sebastian is able to peer through and see 3 goblins sleeping in the left tower near the arrow slits. The doors to the castle have been smashed in, so anyone could just walk into the castle. Sebastian flies over to the right tower, The right tower has no one near the arrow slits. The right tower does have a window on the southern side, as well as a significant portion of the tower destroyed and crumbled into rubble. Sebastian is able to see the room adjacent to the room with arrow slits has 6 goblins sleeping there. Unlike the left tower, this appears to be a make shift barracks for the goblins to sleep in. Sebastian continues to fly around the castle, and finds the Postern Gate, it appears to be unguarded. The door to the castle is closed, and appears in relatively good condition. No damage to the door, but there is a lot of plant life growing on this side of the castle. Sebastian flies by the back right tower of the castle. Sebastian can see through the arrow slits of this tower and sees a large creature in there. This tower is dark, the only source of light is likely through the arrow slits. The next room Sebastian can peer into is another makeshift barracks, but this time it has active Hobgoblins, 2 of them are sleeping, while another 1 is patrolling the room. The large tower in the back has it's arrow slits closed up. You are unable to tell if this was due to the castle's poor condition or if the goblins did it intentionally. Sebastian next spots, a destroyed tower on the left side of the castle. There isn't even any goblins patrolling this destroyed tower. The next part of the castle Sebastian flies by, has two large windows, but both are covered by curtains, preventing Sebastian from looking in. Sebastian finishes his circle of the castle by returning to the other side of the left tower. There is a window he can see through showing a room filled with boxes and barrels, this is likely a supply room of some sort, and those boxes are likely stuff the goblins have raided from people traveling to Emberhorn City. One section of the left tower is crumbled into rubble like the right tower. There is a make shift barracks for some Hobgoblins. 2 are awake and patrolling while 3 are asleep.)

(OOC: based on the above findings, the players options to enter the castle are; going through the front entrance, the hole in the back of the front right tower, the hole in the side of the front left tower, the postern gate on the right side of the castle, and the hole in the side of the castle on the left side. The party is welcome to try to come up with an alternate creative way to try to enter the castle.)

"I'd like to catch those goblins asleep if we can." Misty tells the others as soon as the surprise of the newcomer is done with. "If we hit those six sleeping in the chamber near the arrow slits, and take them out, that would be a good hit to the forces arrayed against us." She considers. "If we then can take some of the other goblins, without an alarm being raised, we might cut down on our enemy forces decently before having to fight those hobgoblins." She glances to the group. "Thoughts?"
"Catching them unaware and attacking them where they least expect it is a good plan. I will follow whatever path the group sets out upon. As I stated before, I may be able to help the party approach the castle without raising alarm." Stannic looks at the group and pauses "But with some of you stomping through the woods in heavy armor nothing is certain"
Gniff nods along while he runs a hand along Quinn's flank, "That should be it then. For the heavier of us, perhaps they stay back but close enough to engage?"
"I see where this is going" Casmir says ruefully "You strong and silent types just tell me where to stay, I'll keep the javelins handy and be ready to run"
"I would not recommend hanging too far back, or separating the strongest fighters, especially with the enemy numbers that are being reported from the castle. I was only trying to state there were limits to the spell's effectiveness. Regardless, we should move soon if we desire to catch them asleep." Stannic pulls a spiral shell from his robes, focusing his energy upon it while murmuring an incantation. A brief gust of wind spins around the party and a veil of shadow and silence surrounds them as Stannic casts Pass without Trace "This should aid us approaching the castle. Everyone should stay close, I will travel in the middle of the group." He glances at Gimble and Gniff "Perhaps one of you could take the lead and watch for traps or goblin scouts?"

@ the party, the party successfully sneaks up to the ruined side of the tower and finds 6 sleeping goblins. 5 of them are clustered together and the 6th one is laying between two piles of rubble. Gimble is unable to find any traps. The tower is barely holding together and the party can feel the chilly wind even while inside the tower. Quinn stays by the edge of the tree line and watches the party from afar.
@ Stannic, Misty/Sebastian, As the party enters the ruined tower, you noticed the connected room to this ruined tower. You can't see much since the rubble obscures sight. You can hear multiple voices. It is in a language none of you understand.

text map: the party is entering the tower, there are six sleeping goblins in this room of the tower. there is a shut door further in the room. There is an adjacent room, no door separating the tower and the room, but there is enough rubble blocking most of the tower and the room to keep them separate, but enough for someone to walk through the rubble to the room. There is enough space between the ceiling of the room and the rubble for someone to climb over the rubble as well. From what the party can see there appears to be a table in that adjacent room.

"Killing enemies in their sleep is not very honorable... But I am sure those goblins wouldn't hesitate to slit our throats if the situation was reversed" Casmir says softly "or bash our skulls" he continues, adjusting his grip on his hammer and walking carefully towards the goblin lying between the 2 piles of rubble.
(OOC: I say we try to finish them off as quickly as possible. Roll for initiative? Sleeping targets give advantage plus automatically crit, correct?)
Misty moves to the first of the sleeping goblins and drives her magical sword into his chest. She looks to the others, waiting for others to move to help her. It is grizzly work and she doesn't look very happy about doing it, but she dare not let these wake up and give away their arrival, not with the forces her owl spotted there.
