Unless something untoward happens once Marcon reaches the top, he strikes up another torch and gives each side of the bridge a good once over, starting from side closest to him(the right). Though his aim was for spotting goblins or more cries of pain, he is partway distracted from wondering if he caught Garet's word right, if at all to begin with. Regardless, once the coast is clear, he tries to find a wall pitted enough to plant the torch, and then goes back lower a rope down from the edge.
As Marcon scales up the rock wall to the top of the footbridge, Rigel crosses under it and continues up the stream passage, which continues up beyond another set of uneven steps ahead, bending eastward as it goes. The deafening sound of a waterfall issues forth from a larger cavern somewhere ahead of him.
In the blink of an eye, the agile Marcon is standing atop the rickety bridge that spans the main passage connecting the two tunnels on either side of the bridge approximately 20 feet above the stream. Lighting a second torch he can see that the tunnel to the east is fairly short and lets out into a larger cavern. He believes he faintly hears voices over the sound of rushing water, which abruptly increases in volume as soon as he stands upright on the bridge.
Below him, the passage is suddenly filled with a mighty roar, as a huge surge of rushing water pours down from the tunnel ahead. This “flash flood” bears down on everyone in the tunnel...Marcon can only watch helplessly as the others below him attempt to hang on...
(OOC: Rigel, Ronk and Garet can attempt a DC 10 Dexterity saving throw to avoid being swept away. If you fail, you can attempt a DC 15 Strength saving throw to hold on. On a failed save, you are knocked prone and washed down to the mouth of the cave, taking 1d6 bludgeoning damage along the way.)
As the water rushes towards him, Rigel presses himself into a small alcove to his right in an attempt to save himself.
Dex save: 10
He desperately tries to gain some leverage by lashing out with both his weapons. Using his dagger like a makeshift piton and his axe as if it were a climbing axe. He stabs the tip of the dagger into a crack while scraping the lower point of the axe head along the wall till it finds purchase as well. Holding on for dear life he waits for the initial rush to ease or subside all together.
The raging flood waters subside just as quickly and unexpectedly as they had come. Everyone was no worse for wear aside from being a bit wet. Vanzaren, busy examining the fissure at the end of the rubbish room, was almost too preoccupied to notice the sudden change in the stream’s volume and intensity.

As the flow of the water settles back to “stream” pace, Marcon and the others in the main passageway have the opportunity to take stock of their surroundings and gather their wits about themselves.
"Is ev--" Marcon claps a free hand over a mouth, catching himself partway into a shout. After a long moment of tense staring off into the tunnel to the right of him, if nothing comes out, he lets out a sigh of relief. "Well, that was certainly weirder than a dancing cow. Did it rain by here recently?"He thought quietly aloud while strapping back on his shield. After a moment's indecision, he decides to head to the source of the sound of water, hoping the path would loop back around eventually to the main stream.
Marcon could only silently hope the others would take his light retreating from the bridge gave away his intent.

Ronk shakes off a bit like a dog and looks up to see Marcon's torchlight receding. "Uhh, we probably should go off alone too much..." He drops the torch, not needing it with his own senses, and climbs after the human, to provide back-up just in case.

Ronk sees Marcon disappear from the bridge above him into the passage leading east. Torn between staying near Garet and Vanzaren and keeping up with Marcon and Rigel, he hurriedly tries to scale the slick rock face in order to reach the top of the bridge. His haste betrays him and he misses a handhold and tumbles back to the floor of the main passageway.
Meanwhile, Rigel and Marcon both find the source of the flood waters, but unfortunately not in time to prevent another one from happening. As they maneuver east along their separate tunnels, they soon discover a much larger cavern...and a goblin right between them! Marcon instinctively thrusts his torch into the goblin’s face (Attack: 22 vs. AC 15, Damage: 6 fire damage.)
Three more goblins are knocking away the final stones holding back a large pool of water which immediately rushes down the tunnel right past Rigel. Two of the goblins (a race not known for its intelligence) were pulling out the stones from the wrong side, and are subsequently washed away with the flood waters...
Back to Ronk - just as he is picking himself up off the floor, he looks northward only to see another rampaging tidal wave bearing down on him...carrying two screaming goblins with it.
OOC:
from Ronk and Garet - need another DC 10 Dexterity saving throw to avoid being swept away. If you fail, you can attempt a DC 15 Strength saving throw to hold on.
from Vanzaren - looking for a couple of Strength (Athletics) rolls to attempt to climb the fissure, if this is the direction you intend to go.
from Rigel and Marcon - ROLLING INITIATIVE for you and the remaining goblins in the cavern, of which there are a total of 4:
Ronk's eye's go wide at the sight of the second torrent, now with added goblins. "No! No no! Nononono!" He tenses in the crouch he had been in after failing to climb the cliff and jumps, trying to scrabble up a bit higher until the flood passes.
(RONK, GARET, VANZAREN in any order until they roll their own initiative)
MARCON
WHAT RIGEL AND MARCON CAN SEE:
A narrow waterfall high in the eastern wall feeds the flood pools, which apparently drains out the western end of the chamber to form the stream that flows out of the cave mouth below. The remains of low fieldstone walls served as dams allowing the flooding pools to fill until released. On the other side of the cavern, a wide exit stands to the south. The sound of the waterfall echoes through the cavern, making it difficult to hear.
TICKLE retreats through the passage leading south on the far side of the room as soon as he realizes that Rigel and Marcon survived the floodwaters and are not looking to make friends.
DUNNO is not as easily cowed by a mere 2 bothersome adventurers and giggles as he knocks an arrow and takes aim at MARCON (Attack: 17 vs. AC 18, dealing 6 piercing damage on a hit.)
SLOOP squeals in pain as the fire from Marcon’s torch engulfs his face. He make a wild stab with his scimitar in Marcon’s direction (Attack: 13 vs. AC 18 dealing 6 slashing damage on a hit) before disengaging and running towards the waterfall to soak his face.
In the time it takes the arrow to cross the room Rigel assesses the situation. He realizes that the one gob that ran is likely going for Klarg. That realization only reinforces his desire to reunite with his companions. Fighting his hatred for the putrid beasts, Rigel resolves to not give chase and instead reunite with the others. Giving a frustrated grunt, Rigel beckons to Marcon as he turns to make his way back towards the others.
"Come on! We need the others! Let's make them come to us. "

Both goblins that were swept away with the second flood take 4 bludgeoning damage as they bounce off the rock walls of the tunnel on their way down. Once they exit the cave, the surging column of water dissipates quickly depositing the goblins somewhat safely on the banks to either side of the stream.
Garet feels compelled to try and rescue at least one of them, but the force of the water crashing down on him requires him to hold tight with both hands in order to not be swept away with them.
FREEPY’S TURN:
This goblin steels his nerve and runs headlong at Marcon with his blade held straight out in front of him. (He failed sword-fighting twice in goblin secondary school) Attack: 24 Damage: 9 slashing damage. He is not sure whether he hit Marcon or not, but either way he immediately flees from the imposing-looking human and hides behind a nearby rock.

Marcon winced at the squeal, then started to open his mouth for an apology. However, what comes out is more a mix of a gasp and "whoa!' from having just barely caught an arrow on his shield. "Hey now! Would'ja -- Ah! Stop!"He sputters mid-warding off a wild blading from his original victim. When Rigel calls and makes for a retreat, Marcon maybe process the request for a second prior to turning back to face the goblins. "I-I can't! And it won't work! Find another way around if you can!" He calls back. In that moment of distraction, Goblin steel finds purchase in a thick but unprotected thigh, eliciting a pained grunt and even nearly stagger the man.
Though teary-eyed from the pain, Marcon takes only a few moments to size up the situation before gritting his teeth and squeezing his eyes shut. "Focus on the pain. Just like Ma said. That's it... Just me and them now. Safe."By the time they snap open again, several veins throughout his forehead and uncovered arms visibly pressed against the surface. He strides forth after the one that just fled, the sound of his heavy breathing and footfalls forewarning a terrible end to any goblin in the vicinity.
"Captive... Where?!"He asked of Freepy in goblin the moment he steps around the rock. But either out of dissatisfaction of the slow respond or purely by impulse, he drops his torch and pulls out a handaxe to cut the goblin down on the spot. And if they do fall, he turns an impatient gaze upon the two remaining and visible, repeating the question.

Ronk ensures Garet survived the second downpour safely. The firbolg reestablishes his footing along the slick incline and realizes that Marcon has disappeared from sight. Worried, he heads up the passage and bumps into Rigel who is heading the opposite direction. About that time he hears a yelp of pain in a voice that seemed to match Marcon’s. Garet pushes past Rigel and on up the natural steps. He rounds the corner just in time to glimpse the human using his hand axe to snatch a goblin’s head clean off its body. As the arterial spray bathes Marcon in crimson, a primal expression falls across his face...as if he were present in body, but somewhere else in mind.
