Ronk lets out a surprisingly high-pitched scream as he sees Marcon's arms transform and then slash at him... Then stops as soon as the webbing falls away from him. "Aaaahhh! oh... Oh, ok then. Uh... Thanks..."He hefts his spear and launches a flurry of attacks at the bugbear in front of him.

Ronk's spear gouges into the enemy's stomach twice this time, urging the bugbear towards death...his fur has become soaked with blood and clings to the monster's legs making him look much strangely thinner on the lower half of his body....similar to when a dog gets a bath.
SPDR 2 Recharge (Web): 5 While BGBR 2 has Marcon somewhat distracted, the spider rushes forward with fangs beared
Attack (Bite): 13 vs. AC 18 (Marcon); dealing 11 piercing damage on a hit. If hit, Marcon makes a Constitution (Save): 16 vs. DC 11; taking 13 poison damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.
(OOC: If the spider's poison damage reduces a target to 0 hit points, the target is stable but poisoned for 1 hour, even after regaining hit points, and is also paralyzed for the duration.)

OOC: I forgot to add ADV to the spider's attack roll as a result of BGBR 2 using the help action. Here's the roll string again for the second attack:
Attack (Bite): 20 vs. AC 18 (Marcon); dealing 10 piercing damage on a hit. If hit, Marcon makes a Constitution (Save): 19 vs. DC 11; taking 6 poison damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.

SPDR 3 Recharge (Web): 5 vs. DC 5 or 6. If recharge fails, spider will retreat to the southwest corner of the chamber and take the dodge action.
If recharge is successful, spider will launch another web attack at Rigel (see spoiler.)
Attack (Web): 24 vs. AC 16 (Rigel); on a hit, he target is restrained by webbing. As an action, the restrained target can make a DC 12 Strength check, bursting the webbing on a success. The webbing can also be attacked and destroyed (AC 10; HP 5; vulnerability to fire damage; immunity to bludgeoning, poison, and psychic damage.)
The chamber was becoming somewhat hazy as the smoke continued to pour off the charred spider corpse lying in the bonfire. The fire popped and crackled loudly as the wet innards of the monster spilled out of the husk and onto the hot coals. Despite their inferior numbers, the party was managing to hold their own against the bugbear brute squad and the remaining giant spiders, who seemed strangely...domesticated? They were only attacking the party members - not the brute squad - so it was clear that they were more than just a group of predators encamped in the underground complex.
As the battle raged, it almost went unnoticed when the double doors at the south end of the chamber began to swing slowly open. In strode a tall female eladrin - her skin was the color of mahogany and the irises of her eyes were an intense red, which matched the color of a cruel-looking longsword that she drug behind her as she walked. The sword's tip scraped against the cold stone floor, letting off a high-pitched screech that grabbed that attention of anyone who had not yet noticed her.
Dangling by it's hair from her other hand was the severed head of a male drow elf. The decapitation must have happened only moments earlier as blood was still draining freely out the bottom of the neck. Perhaps more horrifying, the synapses of the brain must have still been firing because the facial muscles and eyelids twitched wildly and the lips and mouth opened and shut as if still trying to recite the drow's last words...
The thin, beautiful eladrin stopped just inside the southern doorway and just stood there smiling silently for a moment, admiring the chaos of battle that was erupting around her. She then lifted the severed head by the hair so that she could look it directly in the eyes. "What do you think, Black Spider...who will win this battle? Should I intervene? Or perhaps let the fates decide..."

Still under the effects of his zephyr strike spell, Rigel rushes from between the two bug bears. His spell allowing him to evade any attacks levied against him as he moves. He skillfully maneuvers around behind the spider attacking Ronk. Just as he arrives he drops his concentration on zephyr strike and points at Isolde. We'll deal with you next. he says as he points at the woman. He then promptly turns and swings away at the spider.

The bugbears lash out at the ranger as he moves by, but protected by his spell, the foes find nothing other than air to grasp for as he magically swerves around their claws and weapons. He slams his weapon down hard on the spider's abdomen, eliciting a sickening inhuman screech from the monster...also causing it to discharge a lump of unformed websilk at his feet, but not enough to restrict his movement. Isolde simply returns Rigel's comment with a mocking nod and smile in a show of feigned surprise at his uttered threat.
BGBR 3 hasn't noticed the sly looking eladrin behind him, holding his master's head in her hands. Instead, he charges forward at Vanzaren, hoping to score a quick strike at the wizard.
Attack (Morningstar): 13 vs. AC 18 (Vanzaren); dealing 16 piercing damage on a hit.
Hearing Isolde's voice had at once given even Marcon pause to look at the woman, and by extension the severed head. But between the fatigue and supernatural rage gnawing at his sanity with increasing intensity, the ex-farmhand soon enough dismissed her presence with a sharp shake of the head, prior to then whipping around snarling at the bugbear before him and unleashing a savage assault of claws at the creature's face and upper body.

Marcon's first two attacks were swatted away, but the mutated barbarian moves much quicker than the bugbear and the third strike maneuvers behind the bugbears defenses and carves a chuck of flesh out of the goblinoid's chest.
BGBR 2 The bugbear howls in pain but quickly recovers. He grits his sharp, pointed teeth and firms his grip on his weapon and wields it like a sledgehammer bringing it down on Marcon like a railroad worker pounding in a spike.

RONK (DM posting on his behalf) With Marcon, Garet and Vanzaren dealing with the remaining bugbears to the party's front, Ronk turns his attention to the threat behind him, namely the gigantic arachnid that is trying to eat him. Holding his spear with both hands, he thrusts it at the creature's mouth and follows through with a roundhouse kick in an effort to slam the spider's jaws closed
Attack (Spear): 14 vs. AC 14 (SPDR 2); dealing 10 piercing damage on a hit. Bonus Action (Unarmed Strike): 17 vs. AC 14 (SPDR 2); dealing 8 bludgeoning damage on a hit.
SPDR 3 Still reeling from its severe injuries, the spider turns toward the nearest threat (or perhaps meal) which is the slender eladrin holding the severed head
Attack (Bite): 17 vs. AC 19 (Isolde); dealing 11 piercing damage on a hit forcing Isolde to make a Constitution (Save): 21 vs. DC 11; taking 4 poison damage on a failed save, or 2 poison damage on a successful one.
Marcon leans left as the bugbear's morningstar comes crashing down, catching nothing but empty space in its path.
Ronk rams his spear into the spider's mouth so far that the tip exits the out back side of the creature's head. Keeping his grip firm he then uses the implanted shaft for leverage and lifts himself into the air and delivers a massive kick to the spider's thoracic cavity, propelling the spider backwards while at the same time ripping the spear point back through the entry wound and dragging most of the creature's brain out with it. Ronk lands deftly on his back foot with the grace of a ballroom dancer. The spider rolls over on its back at Rigel's feet and its huge legs curl up around it in the classic "dead bug" pose.
ISOLDE At the far side of the room, the injured spider sinks its fangs into Isolde's shoulder, clearly landing its attack against her, but Isolde just smiled as she calmly turned her head to the side to stare the creature directly in the eyes as it pumped poison into her body. "Yes, go on...feed little one. You'll need your strength...for what I'm about to do to you..." She casts the drow's severed head aside and grasped her evil-looking sword in both hands and flicked the blade twice in rapid succession...faster than lightning striking.

Rigel rushes forward as the spider next to him falls. Time slows in the rangers mind. He sees not only the battle before him but also the possible conflict to come. He realizes in that moment that the longer the bugbear fight goes the more advantage Isolde gains. Seizing on Garets momentary distraction he moves to a position directly behind but between the two remaining Bugbears. He swings the flaming sword with all his mught, striking the ground between them, showering them in sparks and little harmless, but dramatic, motes of flame as he follows through with the swing. The sword leaving a brief trail of fire as Rigel drags the sword past the bugbears and lifts it to point at Isolde. "ENOUGH!" He bellows in accented goblin. "You're out numbered and your patron is dead at the hands of the true enemy. Stop now and live or continue and die. The only way you survive this day is to follow US now." the gruff goblin dialect sounding like gravel beneath one's feet as Rigel tries to persuade the bugbears to change allegiances.
