"Forget the pole," Van hisses, pulling a feather from his belt pouch and throwing it in the air. He jumps off the ledge, and right before plummeting he starts floating to the ground.
Ronk finds no traps associated with the owner of the gauntlets, other than the one that originally killed the dwarf whose skeleton is now wearing them.
Rigel extends the pole, this time without making any noise, but his carefulness this time was to no avail - as Garet moves up towards the ledge, he knocks several large stones over the side which ricochet off the wall and floor making several noises which echo loudly throughout the cavern complex both ahead and behind the party.
Vanzaren floats gently to the ground, leaving only Marcon and Garet up top and a group of bugbears lurking somewhere nearby....

Ronk slips the gauntlets off the skeleton and waves them at Rigel in a "Look what I found" manner before tucking them into his robes for safe keeping. He winces as he hears the racket Garnet causes and presses closer to the wall, still trying to be as quiet as possible.
"Ahem..." says a voice from up above, "...those don't look like they belong to you," says the drow, who is now standing at the edge of the crevasse leering down at Ronk.
Four more bugbears step into view behind the drow, all toting heavy clubs. Out of the corner of his eye, Ronk catch two others approaching them from behind!
Rigel activates the first button on his R.O.L.M. and the climbing pole transfigures into a flaming long sword realizing Marcon and Garet may need the light. "Really!? I don't see anyone here who can dispute it. Though you're welcome to try." He challenges.
OCC: Sword sheds bright light for 40 ft radius and dim for another 40. 1d8 damage plus 2d6 fire.
Seeing the light (if only just) but hearing no call to battle, Marcon spent a moment looking confused and even a touch concerned, prior to then setting down his own torch with care by the tunnel bend and quietly making his way to the edge to stand by Garet. By the time he reaches that point he'd been absently making a few absent-minded adjustments to make sure it was fully primed and ready. Biting back a curse, he instead pats Garet's shoulder to get the firbolg's attention, then motions to the Drow(if visible) as he levels his own shot... but wouldn't fire until Rigel called out or any of the arranged foes made an aggressive move on his fellows below.

"So it would seem," says the drow in response to Ronk's matter-of-fact statement. "I suppose we'll just have to pry them from your cold dead hands instead of his," he remarks coldly. Turning to the bugbear to his right: "Kill them...." he orders, "I'll go and retrieve the others". Three of the bugbears at the top of the ledge swap their clubs out for javelins while the fourth begins climbing down the western ledge to join the two at the bottom of the crevasse.

Bitting back a curse at his own hesitation, Marcon tries to make up for it in doubling down and firing upon the drow twice over. He would then wordlessly fall back at least 5 ft for at least a little cover using the height and ledge itself. Though he did so with a frown following a moment's hesitation.
