"If by speed you mean looking like you're going fast yes," Van says after a moment's pause. "Otherwise... I'm afraid not. I can however make people disappear."
"Hmm.. disappearing might be good. Think it would get a couple of you across to block that other entrance?" As Rigel asks the question he steps back a few paces and activates the button on his Rod of Lordly Might that turns the small staff into a 20ft climbing pole. "This should get a couple of us down. Perhaps Marcon you could pole vault across after I get down. Sort of a "high" road "low" road attack. Garet can cover us With his crossbow while Ronk and Van close off the escape route. Any other ideas? Maybe Ronk and I can stealthily take down the bugbears while the rest of you head off the others." Rigel looks anxiously at the rest for a better plan.
Marcon sighs and rubs at his face. "Much as I'd to, I'm too tired for any tricks like that. You saw how I was doing with the zombie back there."He flashes grin. "Best I could hope for would be to luck out and land atop the buggy in the crevice 'n give'm the people's elbow... or so that's what my called it. But ya'll serious didn't hear-..."The rest of the words catch his throat, and after a moment's pause, he just shakes his head and rubs at his eyes.
"I'll just... cover you guys alongside Garet once ya'll our in position below doing your thing. Just keep in mind that neither of us -- us being me and the big guy here, ain't gonna be able to see much past a certain point with my torch."As he's saying that, Marcon doffs his shield, and with torch in one hand and crossbow held(for the moment) in the other, looked about ready to commit to his suggestion.

Inside the 10-foot high tunnel, Rigel’s weapon extends rapidly becoming firmly lodged between the ceiling and the floor, sending a loud “clank!” echoing through the caverns both ahead and behind the party.
Ronk winces at the noise. "Uh oh..." The bugbear sighs and does a few stretches. "Am I going down to the bottom of the chasm or across to the other side?"
Marcon grimaced as well, but reigned in any impulse to go charging out crossbow blazing and so forth. Though a long shot, perhaps the bugbears at least might ignore the clank it as nothing but one of the booms of wave echo cave... though weirder and sharper in tone.... yeah...
Either way, he'd continue to hang back peeking around the bend while holding the torch(and by hopeful extension its light) just of view from any drow or bugears. Long enough for Rigel and the rest of the ground to do whatever they intended to at this point.

Rigel collapses the climbing pole. Turning to Ronk he asks, "Ready?" Rigel then lays out the plan to make sure everyone is of the same mind. "I'll take the farthest. You go first and take the closest. Try to work your way back to this side of the gap. We want to lure the others down. The rest of you cover from up here but try not to reveal yourselves until the others join in. We'll just have to hope that they join instead of go for reinforcements."
As soon as he gets achnowledgments he'll slip around the corner and quietly up to the edge of the chasm deploying the climbing rod when he gets.there.

Ronk shrugs. "Beats trying to bluff my way past more bugbears..." Ronk gets his spear at the ready and hops over the edge , landing as quietly as possible.
Ronk uses his reaction for Slow Fall to reduce fall damage by 25.
"Aight, but gonna need'ja to shout it out then. What with me and big guy here not be able to see without me torch." Marcon reminds. "Or give some other kinda signal if noise is gonna be an, uh... ongoing issue." He adds with a weak smile. And with confirmation on that point, he'd continue to hang back awaiting any sign or signal to join the fray from a high rise assault.

Peering over the edge, Rigel sees no trace of the bugbears, but easily spots the drow who has moved back from the ledge at the west side of the cavern overlooking the chasm. The dark elf is peering out from a darkened hallway - shaped stone, not natural - and appears to be looking for intruders, but has not spotted him or Ronk, even after the 7-foot tall goblinoid lept over the eastern edge of the chasm and landed deftly at the bottom without making the tiniest of noises...
Ronk too takes stock of his surroundings at the chasm floor, but does not immediately see any danger. He does notice the crushed skeleton of a dwarf buried under heavy rubble at the bottom of the rift....this is what the bugbears were attempting to clear away only seconds earlier.

Rigel, impressed with Ronks approach, takes note that they may have been partially compromised with the disappearance of the bugbears. Realizing it's too late to stop the plan Rigel waits till the drow is no longer focused in his direction then descends the climbing pole.
At the bottom of the pole, Rigel lowers himself to the ground...and releases his weight onto a wayward stick which release a loud "crack" muffled only slightly by the sound of the rushing waters pouring forth from the mouth of the underground river...
Rigel cringes at the sound and retracts the climbing pole as he continues to make his way across the chasm bottom. With the other bugbears gone he needs to bring the fight to him anyway.
Still in his "superhero landing" pose from the jump, Ronk sighs to himself and shakes his head at the sound of the stick breaking then starts moving forward to the dwarf skeleton.
Beneath the heavy boulder, Ronk sees the body of a dwarf in warrior's armor. The skeletonized remains look very old and appear to be wearing an exquisite set of gauntlets that have not aged like the rest of his armor.

Seeing the fancy-looking gauntlets, Ronk shrugs and starts to reach for them, then thinks better and checks around for any traps or nastiness left by the bugbears, or just for if he can get them off the skeleton without making too much noise.

Rigel moves to Ronk side. He gives an apologetic shrug and motions towards the top of the chasm wall. He activates his climbing pole again trying as always to be as careful and quiet as possible.
