Yvan is glad that they are able to save the satyr instead of needing to put them out of their misery in the way he didn't want to do, and he watches them off before bringing his attention to the others. "I believed I can detect magic myself... I haven't used it before... but I'll do it if need be." He adds in quietly.

Flawless Night's eye close, and faint purring can be heard while deliberating on the question. "Well... I'd imagine the first one, assuming it does what I think it does, should be good enough. And I do not imagine you would be particularly incline to risk being blinded by the abundance of magic of this place, assuming that other spell does what I think it does." He says.

"On a somewhat adjacent note, my dear new friends... however you intend to collect the essence from the tree, you may wish to do swiftly. For given the unfortunate souls here, and how far along that Satyr was, it is not unlikely she'll be around soon, assuming she hasn't already sensed some interruption of her work." He looks to Rinn. "If you would allow me, quiet one, I would help bolster resilience for what may be an inevitable conflict." He'd say, and if given the go ahead would take out his rapier and seem to knight a kneeling or standing Rinn, before pressing the pommel of the weapon against his own forehead. "May our foes break their bodies upon our unshakeable spirits."

"I can Detect Magic too. And I can do it is a ritual! There's no way she'll get the drop on us now!" Vastra says, as Sassy is now forced to improvise.

Alys and Yvan, as you detect magic, you notice a blip off at the edge of your view.

Everyone, you hear a baying in the distance.

"Gerald?" Kasha asks, looking in the direction of the baying.

The baying doesn't sound like it comes from Gerald or any other animal that the party has encountered before.

"Oh...that's not good," Stella mutters, drawing her blades.

Obsidian hisses in the direction of the baying.

Flawless Night hisses almost simultaneously with Obsidian, and drew his blade. "If you have the means to do so, I would ready ourselves. It seems the hag has already released hounds on us." He would say, as he looked around for any spot to hide nearby. Once he did, he'd duck into it preemptively, and hold his rapier before his eyes. "Grant me Sight Beyond Sight." He intones, as his eyes become solid blue pupils.

Alys will pivot towards the ‘blip’ with a lot more excitement than the others.

Alys, you sense evil and as you approach the blip, you see a creature with what appears to be the body of a canine type creature, but with a humanoid face. It starts to run away as you grow closer to it.

"So the blip is evil..." Alys will casually announce as they get closer. "Wheh!" She'd shudder in surprise, not expecting a humanoid face on a dog. "Soooo... Am I chasing this rabbit down the rabbit hole guys?" The wizard will take tentative steps forward and will continue to follow the creature should no one decide to stop her.

Yvan's hand is at his sword when he notes the blip, glancing over to Alys to confirm he wasn't the only one who could sense it. He follows beside her, and when they approach the creature in question, his eyes narrow. "We go together." Yvan affirms with the cleric, his grip tightening around his blades hilt.

Stella frowns and nods. "Let's go, and keep on our toes."

Flawless Night chuckles into the back of a hand. "If you all insist. Although, I cannot fathom why chase when your prize, or what I assume to be, is right in front of you. Or might this be something of a revenge thing for the harm that Satyr suffered?"

"There's enemies in this forest. Might as well go after them now instead of having them get the drop on us."

You all pursue the hound to find that there's two more hounds joining it. Stepping out from the inside of a tree is a hideous hag with fires rolling around her grey skin, a hunched back, and branches wrapping around her. "Oh ho!" She cackles. "More trees for the forest!"
