When Yvan would find Hoodini, he’d be his usual dishevelled self, besides the extremely over exaggerated shivers. The owl was accustomed to the cold but was spoiled with the body heat and warmth of the furs. The length of the time in the cold simply roused him from his slumbers. Hooters would lean in to accept the apologetic scratches the goliath would give with absolutely no shame, milking it.
Alys would send another complimentary pillow out by the fire for Courage to use to make himself comfortable if he’d like.
The wizard wouldn’t leave the comfort of her magical space to ensure it would remain active. She was plenty content spending time in the pillow fort Kasha created. The blonde would eventually curl up in a cushy pile of pillows and blankets with her journal and pencil in her hands.
It was reassuring to know that his questioning hadn't been taken as him being insensitive, though he does chuff lightly at being called a boy. Then again he didn't know the tieflings age, so he might as well be, even despite the stark height difference.
Yvan's knowledge on different planes had been limited to only the ones the Misfits had travelled to, so when Courage speaks of how time can work when it came to them, the goliath had listened intently. "That's... understandable." He had to remember that Bixby had put in his note as well of how many prosthetics the man had, and also the fact he had no shadow. For curiosity's sake, he takes a look to confirm it. "Hm... He mentioned also you have no shadow. Is that... normal for people of your plane?"

Courage cannot help but burst into a full guffaw at that last question. "By shiny peaks of celestia! Hahah... haah... ah... No, my boy. Though, I don't doubt there's some plane out there that doesn't have that particular predicament on a larger scale than my own bloodline."He said, and just to make it easier on Yvan, held his hand over a nearby fire to show that he indeed cast no shadow even when wielding a kitchen knife up to it. But as soon as the tool left the tieflings grasp, it's own shadow seemed to return to it in an instance. As if it had been there the whole time.
"Now, I don't know the full story of how it came to be this way for those of my bloodline. Bigots of most realms graced by fiendish influence tend to take it as a mark of us not having a soul. Some lorekeepers however speculate that our ancestor sold every shadow of those of the blood in exchange for demonic power. Then, there are some that believe the very same ancestor or ancestors made a different pact. One in which our shadows are taken at birth, and are used by some great entity as spies or assassins... or both. And that the more powerful those of the blood become, the same goes for our missing shadows."He said nonchalantly before holding up a halting finger.
"Seeing as I've died twice, and been called back by some old compatriots of mine, I can at least assure you that the whole soul thing at least is hogwash. More than that?" He shrugs, and with that, slides the diced up tomatoes, onions, and green pepper into by then a bubbling cauldron of water, various spices, and meat. Between the conversation and cooking unfortunately, he has neither the time or impetus to bother worrying about the howling at the moment. Even Souperb, his little helper, seemed no more concern with anything other than the task at hand.

The way Courage spoke reminded Yvan of a shaman he met back in his time of seclusion. The man had interesting stories to tell, and, real or not, they were entertaining to listen to. So he does just that, and watches the tiefling as he demonstrated his lack of shadow. His brows raise in interest, then relax once Courage continues to speak on about theories pertaining to his bloodlines lack of shadow.
His brows would raise again when he speaks of having died twice. "Twice...?" He tilts his head slightly, intently watching the cook work (and mentally taking notes). "You're full of stories then, I'm guessing... How old are you...?"

The pillow fort was a magical creation. The child in Kasha enjoyed every minute of it, screaming and shrieking in joy and watching Alys play magical tricks on Obsidian just made her side ache with laughter. Obsidian wasn't a fan of magical pranks, but it made Kasha laugh, and her laugh was infectious and innocent - it sounded pleasant and it made you want to make her laugh more. Kasha was half human, and had plenty of traits that identified her as such, but she was also half fae, and that was displayed in the magic she was able to cast - you wouldn't be able to tell except with the ears.
Obsidian was in the fort padding around and leaping from pillow to pillow as the girls giggled inside and had a little fun before they were off again, and it was moments like these that Kasha didn't remember her father was dead, and her mother was a heartless ***** who belonged to a long living race of fae and didn't possess a real true investment or theatrics for mortal humans and love. No. Besides, humans lived and died so briefly, what was the point of maintaining connections?
Kasha would fume and get angry over the thought, but the pillow fort made her think of other things.
Stella stands and pulls out her blades. "Guys? We have a visitor who just came through the second story window. They don't exactly look friendly either."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Initially side-tracked by Kasha's joy, Courage soon grinned at Yvan, and would start to answer. But when Stella starts talking of uninvinted visitors, he flips the helmet back in place a thought. "Seems those stories will have to wait, my friend, as there's a guest that needs tending to. So shall we?"He asked with some mirth behind his voice. Prior to charging up the stairs first, Courage taps the side of his helmet, causing the visor to light up blue.
With that preparation out of the way, he then rushes for the stairs, taking the two at a time if need be.
