Unsure of what exactly lurked in the shadows, Alessandra’s eyes flare orange as she activates Eyes of the Beast (While active the user ignores any sight penalties imposed by darkness, including supernatural. While active, the inhuman appearance of the eyes confers two bonus dice to Intimidation pools against mortals) to try and see what was surrounding them.

As Sorrin monologues, a swarm of what appear to be satanic Lasombra cultists charge at the coterie from the darkness in all directions as you have your back to the wall of the stairway that leads up to the library. Aless's vision kicks in a moment before - you can discern basic traits just before the rush. The entire floor is crawling with what appears to be dozens upon dozens of humans swathed in black paint and red markings on their skin. They're all dressed in tattered clothing of various types and all look extremely violent. They are armed with basic crude blunt weapons like pipes, two by fours, poles etc - nothing lethal as far as Vampires are concerned, but still enough to eventually wear you down. Misha slips the flashlight in her back pocket and raises her fists and rouses her Blood for supernatural protection. (..will roll in discord.)
THE FIRST WAVE The first wave of Atellis Ater cultists attack. Ordonio sends in the fodder first. Each of you are roughly engaged by three cultists apiece. Each group of cultists each player faces has a difficulty of DV2 to defeat. For this particular combat encounter, dealing with minions, it is very simple so we can keep to story and action flowing. Describe what you're doing, form your dice pool, and roll against DV2. Any success margins you get means you abstractly defeat your group of cultists. The story pushes forward when each of our groups are defeated. If you fail the roll, you take the difference of fail margins in Superficial damage.
NOTE: You may only activate one Discipline per wave - sort of like in D&D where you can cast one spell per round.
When you roll in Discord, simply note you pass or fail margin so I don't have to backtrack in the chat.
Sorrin effortlessly cuts down the 3 minions that charge at him, and keeps up his daunting aura, as he puts down the third one, he calls out, "Can't even offer a retort so you send you followers to shut me up?~ My, how confident in your claims you must be."
“How annoying,” Alessandra growls as she unsheathes her dagger and strikes out at the cultists!
(Margin success of 1)

With bone cracking strength, Misha socked and elbowed down the cultist wave of hers foolish enough to engage her. It felt good to get into a fist fight again, and the cultists were indeed cannon fodder and dropped easily. "Ha! Ees that all y-"
Alana was the only one left to deal her with assailants, but already Misha could hear another wave coming, even though she couldn't see well.
THE SECOND WAVE As quickly as the first wave was dispatched, the second wave appeared and the darkness thickened unnaturally. The flashlight began to dim. There was still no sign of Ordonio. Was he the darkness itself? It was unknown. His voice, coming from all directions, continued to taunt you as you fought - the voices either in your head or throughout the ancient hall.
<The Abyss conceived us - with every moment we are reinvented. You cannot imagine it's infinite chorus. Submit.>
Another wave of mortal cultists assaults the coterie. These cultists are quicker, stronger, more dedicated - and more vicious. Describe what you're doing, form your dice pool, and roll against DV4. Any success margins you get means you abstractly defeat your group of cultists this wave. The story pushes forward when each of our groups are defeated. If you fail the roll, you take the difference of fail margins in Superficial damage.
Off in the distance, Aless, horrors of shadow form into creation. It will be soon when they join the fray.
Sorrin still is able to dispatch those foolish enough to charge at him with relative ease. However, he noted the increase in their ability and pondered over what tricks the puppet master had. Regardless, the fact he got a response meant that his taunts were working.....somewhat. "All I'm imaging is swarm of locust! You're buzzing is as infinite and annoying as them, so why not! And if you plan to make us submit with such noise, you're farther gone than I imagined."
Misha swung and kicked and was able to fend off the second wave. There were so many of them. She noticed the flashlight was dimming, which meant something supernatural was probably about to happen. She barely turned in time to see Victor and Alana get slightly overwhelmed, taking some hits. "Alana! Veector!"she yelled out, trying to provide some sort of distraction on the cultists as she head locked the last one and slammed it against the wall.
The new group proves to be too much and Alessandra takes a bit of damage as she tries dispatching them. Her eyes widen in horror as she sees the shadows shift and shape, calling out to the others, “Something worse is coming, guys! Be careful!”

THE THIRD WAVE The cultists were able to harm some of you, but they were eventually fended off. Bodies piled on the floor in front of you, you had to push them away or adjust your positioning. A terrible coldness drew nearer, rapidly, Aless could see it - a writhing mass of shadow that coalesced into some short of vague humanoid form with long sharp exaggerated fingers of black that ended in sharpness. It was like the Abyss was alive in front of you, eager, anxious, to rend flesh and tear you apart.
"<Perhaps we misjudged you. Come closer and embrace the shadows.>"
The voice again, everywhere, a chorus of sound from many people - as if one. The shadow creature attacked, slashing at you all violently.
For this particular round, we are going to need 5 success margins total as a group vs DV6. This is a challenging one. Any margin above is considered damage to the creature, and any margin below is superficial halved damage rounded up.
This whole fight was proving to be too much for Alessandra as she slashed away at whatever she could. She takes mental note to bring a ******* sword with her everywhere like Sorrin does instead of a concealed dagger, at least in situations like this where it would be more useful to do so.
(Failure! Margin 3 missing successes :c)

Sorrin slashes at the abyssal monstrosity (though arguably the same description could be given about himself) as he maneuvered around it's claws. "If you don't mind, I prefer the warm embrace of a beautiful woman. Though the offer is flattering, I'll have to turn you down."
Victor shakes his head, recovering from a moment where the Beast took control. He finds that he emptied his gun in his fury and reloads. "You and me both, Sorrin." Despite his injuries he puts on a smile and turns towards Misha as he aims his gun at the creature. "Don't go getting hurt now. I'm sure that after this we'll all want to see you dance in that new dress you bought."
