The group continues down the path. They do indeed spot a su-monster, but it seems to remember the fiery wrath the party brought yesterday, as it screams warnings and flees from the cart. As they continue, the tortle expedition leader regales the party about his several tales to lands they have never heard of, and of the strange creature and wonders that he has seen there. (Feel free to make an Intelligence (History) or Intelligence (Nature) check for those)
After a bit more travel, it gets to mid afternoon as the group has to take off of the beaten path. The hirelings are armed with machetes as they begin carving a path through the thick underbrush so that the cart can get ahead. "Well chaps, we're on the slow and steady now. Perhaps a couple of you could check ahead for a place we can safely bring the cart for the night."
There is a strange creaking noise just after Douglas speaks, like a tree slowly leaning in a strong wind. However, the air is calm today...
Tahia is about to volunteer to scout ahead when the faint sound catches her ears. "Hold, before you go any further,"she calls to the hirelings. "Did anyone else hear that noise?" she asks the group. Perception check: 18
Tahia gets the feeling that the creatures Douglas was regaling tales of are more the monstrous creatures, like ankhegs, yetis, basilisks. He just doesn't call them by name to keep an air of mystery to the story.
Listening and checking ahead, Tahia finds that there is an enormous beast, with dark leathery skin and big boney crown of a head. It is on all fours with a broad build, and a spiky tail as it reaches up on a tree and appears to be trying to eat some of the fruit.
Tvon'ii nods to Korvek, "I don't know much about the fauna in these lands but it seems peaceful enough to be left alone." the elf whispers and turns to Douglas, "What do you say, leave it be or are these considered troublesome in your parts?"
Upon discussion Douglas offers, "Well it is in our path, given our trajectory. They can be a little territorial, but I was told one of you is used to being with animals. Perhaps you can keep it docile whilst we move the cart through to another area."
Gnoll pauses a moment uncomfortable:"... I do know a few spells that may help, but i didn't prepare any of them for today. And i am rather limited in my natural skills and geting along with animals is not one of them. If the beast is makeing trouble, i coyld distract it with a pack of wolfs for example. "
Perhaps we should bypass this all together, it may add a some time to our trip, but that thing is large, and means us no harm. It would be a shame to disturb it.

"Gnoll, is there a beast you could turn into, maybe? I can make it dark, if we're trying to sneak by, but I can't do anything about noise. If we need to cut brush down to continue with the cart, we might need to try and lure the beast away, or wait for it to move on."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"How about the fruit instead? Use a magic or just shoot some down then lure it away using the food. If we try to make it move by scaring it, we risk it panicking. Besides...there's bound to be some fruit nearby that we can grab rather than try to deal with the beast directly." Korvek looks to the trees, looking for similar fruit.
"I can turn into a large beast, but anything i know will be smaller then her and not of interrest. I can create some godberries but they are tiny berries, i am not sure if the will be of help. What about an illusion of some food? Can we make the berries look larger? "
Ok i will create goodberry and we use Minor illusion, Prestidititation and Magic Tinkering to make them look bigger and tastier, and then i will try to lure the big gal out of our way with it. Useing a stick or something to feed the berries, i like to keep my hand.
Korvek isn't sure what the fruit is that the beast is attempting to eat. From what he sees, it is possible that it is going for the leaves. The others note that there are large mangoes growing from the tree.
With some goodberries procured, Gnoll goes out and gets the beast's attention. It lowers itself back onto all fours as it seems to prepare its legs defensively. The goblin then shows the berries, placing them out at the ready for it to investigate. The beast takes several steps forward, its eyes locked onto the goblin, it is difficult to say whether it will charge or not.
"Marvellous, the beast is distracted. Quickly, let's get our cart beyond its field of view." Douglas tells the others. (Can I get a group Dexterity (Stealth) check. This is a group check, so it's a pass/fail ratio. Since you are all stealthing separately, you can't help each other on this.)

(Effectively a huge triceratops like crature)
Gnoll whispers: "I have never seen an animal like that, what is it?"
Tahia points it out or describes it to the others, if it's out of sight. "Can we go around it?"

"It seems calm enough but best to give beasts space. Any objections?"
