Pizazz's Ravenloft and Beyond

meepo will cast ray of frost at one of the figures behind the arrow slits.

He will then duck back  out of sight of the slits and the head.

Meepo leans out and blasts a ray through the arrow slit, he sees it strike some sort of skull shrouded in green flame with flaming red eyes.  It cackles in response, a mad echoing laughter the flits through the frigid dark temple. 

A flaming mote rips down from above, and the area around Meepo, Ulthan, and Olin erupts in flame.  (Dex saves DC 13, 22 Fire Damage on fail, half on a save)

Lionel, from behind you are struck by several blasts of magic coming through the arrow slits from the green flaming skulls.   (Magic Missile damage: 21 force damage)

Kasimir save: 21 

Olin save: 25 

Mordekai blips back into existence as the light from the blast of flame is fading.   He sees Olin collapse in the far alcove.

How far is Meepo from the arrow slits and those figures he sees through them?

Meepo is 20 feet from the west wall. The arrow slits are 40 feet up the wall.  So, he's 'roughly' 48.9897 feet from the lowest part of the arrow slits that are carved into the upper wall of this room.

Save fire 15 Ulthan's luck is wavering strongly and the little voice in his head is not helping things... Where is my cover he grumbles as he heads away from everyone else, but against the wall, if too many people he'll stay away from them by about 40 feet... bow at ready to shoot anything that's not the roasting party.

Ulthan had cover from direct attacks, but unfortunately the fireball didn't need to be aimed at him.  As Ulthan moves 30 feet down the wall and past a slumped body of the cleric, he suddenly gets close enough that he can see through the darkness and to the statues head. He sees Lionel up there with his sword with a blade of light, as well as two large eye holes with a man inside.  Feel free to attack, or you can continue to move and get far enough forward that the guy in the statue can't see you. 

Mordekai pops back onto this plane 10ft closer to the statue.  He moves up to the right hand pillar, taking a quick glance over his shoulder down the passage to the right, and then firing another couple of Eldritch Blasts on the way at the old man, before (hopefully) not blinking back to the ethereal plane.

meepo casts counterspell to counter the fireball spell.  Let me know if this wouldn't work for some reason.

Ulthan mad... really mad.... in fact smoking mad... Da goggles, dey do nothing! So he bravely stays within site of the evil statue man and lets loose two arrows he planned to loose what feels like a day ago. Although he wants to scream in rage at the result of this attempted attack, he feels enough attention has been paid even accidentally to someone of his stature.

Meepo, peeking out from behind his cover sees one of the flaming skulls summoning energy to release the fireball spell. He quickly begins countering it but a moment later his own spell fizzles as someone in the battle counters his counter spell. 

That daemon in the shape of human had too wait more to get justice! Lionel felt rage consuming him but he had no choice - he had to be alive to fight,

Bonus action: Channel Divinity: Vow of Enmity on the man inside the head (As a bonus action, you can use your Channel Divinity to choose a creature within 10 ft. and gain advantage on attack rolls against it for 1 minute or until it drops to 0 HP or falls unconscious.)

Action - Lay on Hands on himself for 30 points

He would also move on another shoulder, hoping the head will give enough protection from the arrow slits.

Doubt if this is going to do much, but Meepo doesn't appear to ahve much else that he can do against these skulls...

Meepo casts watery sphere inside the area behind the arrow slits.  he then moves it along the other side of the arrow slits, trying to hit any of the creatures there with the ball of water.

save is STR 14.

An arrow whistles up from Ulthan and through the gap, bouncing off the wizards robe, but the second arrow is true, slamming into his chest spraying purple blood across the inside of the statues head.  Lionel, eyes glowing, golden translucent wings on his back, a blazing sword in his hand, leaps to the far side of the head for cover, while he forms a mystical bond against the foe inside the head. 

Mordekai appears outside the alcove, two blasts of magic flying up to the head, one strikes the outside of the skull just beside Lionel, and the other going through but missing the target inside.  He looks down the passage to his right.  It's an arched hall that rises to a height of twenty feet. He glances at a wall of the hallway where he can see his reflection in the amber glaze. But the images don't mirror his movements. Instead, they wave their arms and scream silent warnings to him.  Beyond the wide and tall twenty foot hall of amber mirrors, he sees it opens up.  He sees the walls and ceiling of a great hall beyond that are coated in am­ber that glistens like fresh honey. Dust covers the black marble floor. To the north, the hall has collapsed, leaving a wall of rubble. Many amber doors lead from the hall. There continues to be no light sources anywhere.

A dim glow can be seen from the arrow slits on the east side of the room and you notice what appears to be Ismark there.  He pulls back his bow and fires two arrows across the long room towards the green flame skulls through the far arrow slits. 

Attack: 8 Damage: 5. Attack: 24 Damage: 6

One of his arrows is a beauty shot, from arrow slit, 100 feet across the room just scraping the ceiling in it's arch, and then through the far arrow slit hitting one of the flaming skulls with a crack.  The skull lets off a hideous mocking laughter. 

A wide blast of ice and cold spray out of the air from midway up in the center of the hall, narrowly missing Lionel but spraying into the eye holes.  The bearded man inside shouts in anger. CON Save vs DC 14: 9. 38 cold damage, half on a save.

(OOC: Oh snap, sorry!  I must have refreshed right as you were posting....) 

A sphere of water appears amidst the green flaming skulls striking 2 out of the three of them :

Save 1: 11

Save 2: 8

On of them is captured in the water, bubbles and hissing spluttering from the skull as it's flames continue to burn inside the water. 

It's clacking angry eyes glare down at Meepo, and magical bolts fly through the air towards Meepo.  (Magic Missile: 10 force damage)

Another of the skulls glares across at Ismark, and two blasts of flaming rays shoot out at him. (Fire damage) Attack: 20 Damage: 15. Attack: 19 Damage: 11

The last one fires two blasts at Mordekai who is now in the open.  (Fire damage) Attack: 13 Damage: 12. Attack: 23 Damage: 11

From inside the head, the man glares at the invisible flying elf and there's a blast of magic that rips out across the space.

Kasimir CON Save: 9 vs 17.  Necrotic damage: 69

Kasimir appears in mid air, his veins coursing with blackness, and with horrid shriek he plummets to the floor, bones crunching as his body lands, his flesh looking partially decayed and his eyes shot through with red blood and sightless. The elf is hideously dead. 

Ismark fires two more arrows across at the skulls. Attack: 19 Damage: 8. Attack: 19 Damage: 3

Two amazing shots as the arrows slam one after another into one of the skulls.

Finally now Lionel could attack! He looked inside the statue's head then struck twice with the sword (radiant damage for all):

Attack: 15 Damage: 9 +7

Attack: 25 Damage: 13 +7

Plus Divine smite: 10 and 5 on both attacks

Mordekai would like to Counterspell the old man's attack on Kasimir if possible?  (Mordekai is focused on the old man, so makes sense that he tries to counterspell whatever he's trying to cast)

After taking damage from the skulls, Mordekai reconsiders his complacency and retreats back to the alcove, sending his Eldritch Blasts at the old man once more.

Attack: 15 Damage: 8

Attack: 25 Damage: 12

Blink roll: 6
