Oh, well, now it was Meepo's turn to get a voice in his head. This one seemed the right one, though. Seemed. "I hope this is not the trick of that murderous Queen. Can not say I like that princess either - forcing someone to free you under the death threat is not really a benevolent act. But efficient, have to give her that. Just get the shortest way to her prison and tell to expect us."
“The cursed one is the only one who can free her, but if the don’t and the curse runs it’s course then the cursed one’s soul adds to the prison?” Ketch asks, confused. “Do I got that right?”
”Cause it seems strange that if the curse comes from the one doing the improsoning that they’d curse someone at all. No curse, no cursed one to free their prisoner… if the curse comes from the imprisoned then why would they have it so their curse could lead to your souls strengthening the prison?” Ketch shakes his head, frustrated.
”Hogwash, I say! If it was a curse then it would have been cured by Gruumsh, through me, when I tried to remove such earlier! This is all fairy tricks and I’m starting to think we should just ignore them altogether. My understanding is they’ve only as much power as you give them. Ignore them and it all turns yo pixie dust…”
"Meepo think find princess." Meepo says, having gotten no response yet on the princess location. He glances to the others. "Meepo friends ready continue?"
In Meepo's mind he hears, "The location of the prison is not important. It is the maker of the prison who is important. Zyrian the scrivener created the curse for the hideous Queen! He is now nothing more than a ghost, and can be found at the Haven of the Red Quill. It is the same place the book was found. Follow the map, it will lead you to Zyrian so that you may destroy him and end both your curse, and free me from my prison!"

Mordekai stands up and agrees with Ketch's sentiments, then launches into fluent oration about friendship, and having Meepo's back because that's what friends do, and he finishes with "...and so of course we're ready to come with you." It's all incredibly clichéd, but the force of Mordekai's charisma overcomes that flaw, and everyone finds themselves inspired and feeling good.
When Mordekai finishes his grand speech, he says to Meepo, in tones now lacking the grandeur, "Where are we going, exactly?"
The group leaves the crossroads and continues following the map. With Machil's map in hand, finding the ruins is a simple matter...of walking. You walk for most of the day, resting at night, and resuming the next day...and the next. Four days pass. During this time, Meepo sees the writing continue to creep up his body. During this time, the group also notices that this world seems to have a lot of pests. Rats scurry around the campsite each night, snakes zip through the grass, and beetles, flies, and spiders seem ever present wherever you go. At night when you rest, the sky is dark, the land seems peaceful, but your dreams are troubled. Strange imagery of alien landscapes and a constant theme of undead scrabbling about around you, hunting...always hunting you. The chase scenes in your dreams are constant and from morning discussions, it's clear that they're not just your dreams. Everyone is having similar dreams. They leave you always feeling tired, never fully rested, and with a jittery, nervous feeling in your gut that makes you always look over your shoulder. (no game impact at the moment.). Everyone except Meepo, who's dreams are consumed by dreams of the Princess of Shadow Glass. In his dreams, vast armies of the Queen's of Air and Darkness march across fertile farmland seeking his destruction....and he often sees the imagery of the three crowns.
Meepo:
You can now cast one of the following spells blur, invisibility, mirror image, phantasmal force, or silence at will, with no components, once per long rest. (one of them, once, not each of them once) However you find your body feeling strangely brittle...a little like hard glass. You gain vulnerability to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage, and effects that grant you resistance or immunity to such damage are suppressed. Also, unstated from the last benefit, but so I don't forget, you can't gain benefits from Potions...but Meepo doesn't know this.
On the fifth day you come upon the ruins of an ancient city. You've met no one on the road. This part of whatever world you're on must be deserted. The road was overgrown and you've seen no sign of civilization. The city looks destroyed. The nature of the destruction seems to be catapults, arrows, and fire. Skeletons of the dead can be spotted beneath the overgrown rubble...though nature is well on its way to reclaim this place.
Soon enough you come across the great well that Machil's map makes notes on. A spiral staircase leads deep down into the underground bowels of the city, the bannisterless stairs winding around the outside of the treacherously deep well that is at least sixty feet across, the walls lined in stone bricks. Windows peak through into the well from through the walls as the well descends, hinting at levels and levels of rooms beneath.
Machil's notes call this the Haven of the Red Quill, supposedly a great library once long ago.
The Princesses voice whispers with anticipation in Meepo's mind, "Soon, you'll be free of the curse and my prison will be broken. Find the ghost of the wizard and destroy it."

each morning Ketch ritually casts Divination and asks Gruumsh if we are following the best course to rid Meepo of this strange curse upon him. ((Unless he gets a really unexpected answer he just does it each day…)) Also, in his stubbornness, Ketch casts Remove Curse once upon Meepo and once upon the book that gave it to him… ((he still has the book, yes?)) ((So 3 spells each morning, but one a ritual…)) Otherwise Ketch grumbles about all the walking. Complains about… everything. He grows more and more irritable the more he walks, the more he dreams, the more he has to look upon Laffa, the more anything… All in all, Ketch wants something to hit and Laffa is looking more and more likely to be that something just because he is present.
Ketch feels a momentary lessening of his frustration upon finding the well but “There’s steps. Steps and steps and steps…. There is no end to this walking!” In frustration he swings his axe out against the bannister just to finally do something besides walk…
As they travel Meepo would have reanimated the skeletons destroyed in the battle with the giants and elfs. If possible he would have added to this with skeletons he found on the way, but let me know if and how many that would be. He would animate the last of the 3 elfs they have bodies for, adding the one he used speak with dead on to his other two if possible. (I realize this one would not be permanant though.)
Meepo has gotten use to simply ignoring the voice in his head. He moves to the well and glances down the seemingly endless stairs. "Meepo suppose need go all way bottom..." He states more than asks out loud.
"Do you think it is time to call our group "wizard slayers"? It seems to be our main occupation lately. Though, the ghostly form will be a novelty." He stepped on the first stepping stone. "Let me go first. In the worst case, if some of these steps are not safe, I'll can at least fly out of this... library?"
"Sorry," Lionel's smile was wide, fair and genuinely friendly. "I keep forgetting that we can do that. We can certainly make our path down there shorter... But are you sure we want to jump like that into the unknown? If so, let's do it!"
Should the group risk it, Lionel can transport every willing creature as far as he can see.
"You princess?" Meepo says out loud, glancing to the others and touching his head meaningfully. "Why speak Meepo's head now?"
