After a few days of walking, heading down one long spiral staircase doesn't seem like too much of a chore, and so the group descends. The wide spiral staircase descends a hundred feet from the ruins on the surface. A weathered mosaic decorates the stairwell, depicting dwarves, elves, and humans working together to forge a Realm of Three Crowns. Meepo recognizes the imagery from his dreams. The area reeks of decay, and a few birds fly out of the shaft.
At the bottom of the shaft, you look up to see the light of the sky overhead, and glance at the archway that leads from here further underground. You glance through the archway to get an idea of what you're dealing with. The walls of the next chamber show cracks and other signs of stress from the weight of the earth and stone above, but have so far remained standing. The floor is covered in a thick layer of rot and debris, within which can be seen scraps of leather, the husks of countless dead insects, and bits of rusted metal. A doorway in the far wall has collapsed and is fully blocked by a pile of rubble. It appears the only way forward has been intentionally collapsed.

"Meepo no give up." Meepo says, glancing to Ketch. He considers that, if he does give up now, he will lose all of his magic and, likely, not survive much longer. Stepping into the chamber, he moves to the blocked door and starts to pull smaller stones away, working to clear the way forward. The 2 and 1/2 tall kobold would look fairly foolish as he works, as it would likely take him forever to clear the way forward, but he continues at it, even though some stones are likely too-large for him to move.
"Meepo,"Lionel also tried to pull a stone, "do you think your army of skeletons will be more efficient here? At least they do not get tired. And all we need is just a window through - then the helmet can bring us on the other side."
Grumpy and annoyed, Ketch still gets to his feet and begrudgingly starts to help Meepo move debris. Of course muttering under his breath the entire time. When Lionel mentions the boners though, Ketch claps the dust off his hands and steps back. “He has a grand idea, that one. I’m sure they could do this with less bother than us!”
”Not sure one needs illusions when one is satisfied with a blockage, but no harm checking,” Ketch answers Mordekai, nodding as he does. He’ll then use rituals to cast Detect Magic…
Mordekai moves about searching for secret or illusionary walls, but doesn't find any. However, Ketch's detect magic does detect some amount of conjuration magic emanating from a wall on the right side of the room. There's nothing obviously different about this section of wall than any of the others however.
Meanwhile, moving the rocks, bit by bit, does seem like it will get the job done eventually. Especially with the larger, stronger folk helping.
Quinn slips off of Mordekai's pant leg and slides across the floor. "Lies....and truths fill this place." He slips between the rubble like a piece of paper slipping under a door. He emerges a few moments later and continues talking to Mordekai. "There is more of the space you need to move about on the other side of these unorganized piled earthen components."
It seems like it may take a couple hours to dig through this cave in if you keep at it.
However, before you can get to that, you hear the sound of bits of rock and rubble plinking down off the walls of the well and landing near the bottom. A large shadow obscures much of the light coming down the shaft and you hear the sound of something moving from above. (currently you're all through the archway and into the first room, out of the main shaft).

"Well what is this then?" Ketch asks, stepping out into the shaft to look up and see what kind of dragon or other beast is storming down to assault them now...
Ketch boldly steps out into the shaft and looks up at, presumably, his next victim. A massive thing that looks like a cross between an alligator and a centipede, but grown to dragon size. The thing is wrapped around the inside of the top of the shaft. It clambers easily along the side of the shaft, it's many legs clutching the rock face as it crawls down at a slight angle. When it sees Ketch, it opens it's mouth wide and lets out a high pitched screech of menace. The screech echos through the shaft and other room painfully loudly, shivers of fear prickling your spines.
Seeing the Centigon? Dragipede? Ketch screams back at it, unleashing a Half-Orcian Yawp the which few have ever heard! Or perhaps it was just a particularly long and loud burp. It did taste kind of like the rations they had for breakfast...
(How big is this chamber? Not sure I want to bring 23 other creatures in here with us, as it might get hard to move around... Will do Meepo's action once I get an idea of the space.)
At 20 Ulthan slinks off into a dark corner and starts shooting arrows at the beast the orc will be shortly fighting. Arrow1: 20 Damage: 19 Arrow2: 20 Damage: 22
The room you're in is 20 feet by 20 feet. The round well is 60 feet across, and 100 feet deep. The creature is 80 feet up currently, still near the top. The archway between the well and the room is a normal door sized. The wall is 3 feet thick.
The creature pauses, momentarily reassessing its foe as Ketch screams up at it. But then it resumes its aggressive descent.

Meepo tosses the portable hole up on one of the side walls of the chamber. there is a crashing and clanking sound as all of his skeletons, in their armor, as well as his zombies, fall to the new bottom of the hole.
Meepo commands all of the skeletons to come out and shoot at the creature above, then to re-enter the hole again. (Thinking of having them step out, shoot up at the thing above, then step back into the hole, if that works... If not, then they will step out, shoot, and move aside, staying in this chamber, but making room for the next to step out. Hopefully that is not needed, or else no one is moving in this chamber, as it will be full of undead.)

He verbally instructs his two permanent zombies to start clearing the rubble blocking the way into the next chamber.
It takes Meepo's action to setup the hole and his skeletons have to wait until next turn to emerge / act. Though, I presume he's setting the hole up in the side room, rather than within the bottom of the shaft. So, the skeletons will have to walk out, through the doorway / archway, and fire upwards, then move back into the room or to the side. Though I think 20 of them attempting to do this over 6 seconds may be a bit much. I think it seems reasonable for 6 of them to shuffle through the door and fire an arrow and move aside for the next (1 second each). Hopefully that feels reasonable?! There are few rules for mobs of creatures moving about like this. If Meepo sets up the hole IN the shaft in full view of the creature, then I think all 20 could get out and fire in one action, but they need to be spread out throughout the room. Going out and back in they'd all be running into each other as they try and get their bows nocked and aim upwards to fire etc etc. Sound ok?
Ulthan steps into the well so he can fire upwards, and realizes it's big and round, so there are no corners!! What evil villainy of architecture is this! He finds a place against the wall to fire from. Two arrows slash into the creature that shrieks in anger.
(Meepo's skeleton discussion: I am 100% fine with however you think it should work. Meepo would be setting it up in the smaller chamber, so definitely not in the stairway area. If only six are likely to be able to get off shots, then he would have the other 14 stay in the hole, and not have them come out. There is not enough space for all 20 skeletons out in the open. Let's just have six out, and those six can help in this battle.)
