The already grievously wounded creature skittered down the wall, its dozens of legs propelling its massive crocodile/centipede body lower down the pit. It scrabbles another 40 feet down the wall. (It's 60 feet down now, 40 feet up from the bottom of the shaft.) Its bluish fleshed body seems to glow from within as strange dull light moves up and down its long body. As it opens its maw another time, lightning crackles around the inside of its mouth. Then it lets out a crackling explosion of energy that arcs across the space and strikes the flying Lionel.
Lionel, Dex DC 16 Save. 67 lightning damage, save for half.
Creature is 40 feet up from the bottom. Lionel is 30 feet up from the bottom. Ulthan and Ketch are both at the bottom. Meepo is within the room and has opened his portable hole, his skeletons are ready to emerge.
Mordekai you're next. As Quinn shivers nearby he says, "More of this awful truthful killing....but...there is a lie here.....I...sense it. Let me help you." Quinn slips INTO Mordekai and he feels a strange sensation of another mind along side his...alien and different. He glances upwards from within the archway. He sees the creature, and Lionel, Ulthan, and Ketch. But....further up...near the top of the shaft, he sees a semi-transparent figure...moving down the stairs as he stares down at the battle. The figure waves his hands and Mordekai sees a shimmering semi-transparent field fill most of one side of the shaft. It's below Lionel, but above everyone else, and this invisible wall that Mordekai knows only he can see gives the creature and the invisible wizard full cover from those at the bottom of the pit. (Mordekai you are under the influence of See Invisibility.)

Mordekai will move out to the other side of the shaft, getting out away from the cover of the wall. He'll call to the others "There's an invisible wall giving the beast cover from that side." Then he'll cast Hex at 1st level, followed by a couple of Eldritch Blasts, all at the creature. He'll keep an eye on the wizard, but ignore him for now.

While climbing about 15 feet of stairs in order to get a bit closer to the creature Ketch marks it as his prey (( Hunter's Mark bonus action )) and draws out one of his hand axes and chucks it at the thing.
Hand Axe Attack: 18 Damage: 6 plus 4 damage via Hunter's Mark.
"Cover from which side?" Ketch asks hurriedly, presumably annoyed that his axe bounces off the invisible wall...
Mordekai moves to one side to blast the creature, though both of his magical blasts shank off of the creatures tough hide and slam into the wall of the shaft instead, sending a shower of pebbles to the shafts floor. Bits of rock plink off the invisible wall. Ketch sees Mordekai’s position and quickly understands where he needs to be, rushing up the stairs and hucking an axe that slams into the things side with a satisfying thwack.
Lionel, Ulthan, and Meepo are up.

Meepo, seeing the battle moving around the larger chamber changes his mind and sends all of his skeletons forth, having them spread out around the outside of the well chamber, and several needing to dash to do this. Those closest loose arrows, which ping harmlessly off of the invisible wall. (I want them spread out along the outer wall of the 60-foot circular chamber, so that they are not bunched up, and, some at least, should be getting unobstructed shots off next round.
Meepo, himself, steps into the doorway after all of his skeletons file out, and sumons forth one of the larger skeletons again. summon undead
It appears near Mordekai, sending two blasts up at the large beast coming down from above... (Cast at 4th level again.)

A large skeleton appears next to Mordekai, and then it unleashes two dark bolts of energy. The first misses the beast and slams into the wall, which forms a strange black patch...the moss hanging from the wall turns brown and dead. The second blast strikes the creatures and leaves a purple blotch on its flesh.
Another arrow from Ulthan finds its mark near the creatures neck.
Skeletons fan out into the room, a few arrows flying upwards and plinking off the invisible wall or into the beasts hide. (took the first few attacks from the first rolls you made, some damage is inflicted).
Lionel flies up to it and slams his blade into the creature. The first one shanks off the creatures hide but the second scores a hit, a flash of energy leaving a sizzling wound. The creature cries in pain but keeps fighting.

The invisible person 70 feet up from the bottom of the shaft hunched on the stairs looks about, and then lets go with a spell. A small streak of fire descends into the pit and then explodes into a large blast of flames. The flames catch Ulthan, Mordekai, Ketch, the big summoned skeleton, and 4 regular skeletons.
As a bonus action, Ketch prayers for a Spiritual Weapon to appear, huge and glowing and hovering 5' under the creature... And for it to attack it...

Ketch chucks his other hand axe at the create and then starts hauling butt up the stairs in order to try and get into melee range with the thing, out of throwing weapons...

He will use any movement he has left to get back under the wall of force, and as far back towards the other chamber as possible.
