Noa nodded as Bree recollected the tale of the village's demise from her perspective and simply added that he only heard rumors of an orcish warband on the loose and he came to the village to investigate and possibly parley with the orcs. Despite his appearance, he was very fluent in Orcish and he would rather avoid unnecessary conflicts as much as possible. He couldn't say the same for Perzy'S though as the hobgoblin managed to "recruit" the little goblins to his cause.
"Perzy'S, are they okay? I'd rather we not kill them outright. Besides, we have pigs and some other stuff in the wagon." he called out to his hobgoblin friend. "We should rest for now and see what we can use here. Besides, I think Kuori's in the mood for a good fight right after she rests."
Anyll is oddly rested and back to his senses. The adrenaline from the skirmish left him in a daze after, leaving him wondering if memories of last night were real at all. But of course they were, look where he was. While still bruised from his wound, he is washed and scented of the forest thanks to a twinkling of a spell. He makes his way downstairs and sits near Daishi during breakfast.
"... and I would appreciate it very much if I could have you help me with another task instead."
He manages to catch the end of their discussion, as grabs some toast and honey, "I may be able to assist. The gnolls and goblins do not usually advance this far... I will like to know what has truly brought them here as this land's denizens are my under my care." He attempts to give Daishi as smile, feeling slightly embarrassed about his lack of action when he feels it was most needed.
"Want me to cook up one of the pigs for us?" Bree asks as it becomes clear that they are staying put for the time being at least. (OOC: how late is it in the day now?)
She will start putting together a cook fire as she speaks. The companions would remember her last meal she cooked though, and the fact she tried to use lantern oil as a seasoning...
Kuori listens to Bree's recount of the raid with rapt attention until its conclusion. She nods solemnly and bows her head for a moment.
"[Giant: Torm, righter of wrongs, may these brave ones succeed in putting down this enemy that has committed such evil against innocents. May I be staunch in my assistance, though strip me not of my honor for deviating from my current path.]"
She lifts her head back up to look at Bree and Noa after offering this prayer to Torm and places a firm hand on Bree's shoulder. "Thank you for enlightening me, Bree Hill. You have my deepest sympathies for the losses you and your companion have suffered. Have no hesitation in your condemning of these monsters, however - they have committed a great evil this day, and will undoubtedly do so again if left unchecked. This is why I have decided that, for now, my journey must lead away from Ice Spire and its dragon lord and alongside you three so long as the Orcs remain a present threat."
Her words are bold and confident, despite the obvious lack of any confirmation on the part of the trio she has decided should be a quartet. The matter seemingly settled, she smiles with profound ignorance at Bree's offer to cook and pulls on the lead she tied together to bring the pig away from the wagon a short distance. She draws her shortsword and plunges it down through the swine's flank, doing her best to pierce its heart so as to make the meal's preparations swift. Over the ensuing squealing, Kuori addresses Persy's.
"Young warrior, please inform our charges that they are to surrender any and all ill-gotten wealth to be distributed at our discretion. If someone could search the body of their commander, as well, it would be much appreciated."
As you walk down the aisles with Tibby and Skip, you hear a sort of whisper. Indistinct, but there nonetheless. Tibby and Skip dont seem to hear it and it feels like it wants you to check out the southern most shelf.
After finishing an interrogation of his new charges, Perzy'S ordered them to bury the bugbear and the goblin defector after he has searched them for valuables. Then he has the goblins unhook the pigs and put them in a makeshift pen and see if Bree need help preparing the meal. Perzy'S will head over to the others and share what he has learned and praise Kuori for her defeat of a skilled opponent. The Bugbears name was Brahg, a mercenary that was known for good discipline and capable fighter. Much more sufisticated then most bugbears in combat. The goblins, being good mercenaries , have no problem adapting to new leadership. He also welcomes her aid in stopping the orcs.
" my goblin cousins have an interesting story to tell. It seems they were supposed to have been party to the assualt on my village, but they didnt make it in time to see any action and were on their way to a secondary target when they met up with Kuori. First thing I asked them was why pigs to pull the obviously heavy wagon. Apparently, on the way to the assault they got hungry, and the goblin they killed decided ot would be a good idea to butcher the ox that was pulling the wagon. So they raided a nearby farm, the only animals they were able to capture were pigs. Needless to say, their commander was really angry in the morning when he discovered what they had done. Haha. Since we seem to be getting more people and are going to need more supplies, I believe it's a good idea to utilize this wagon, sans war topper, to carry people and supplies. The goblins did not know which orc band they were supposed to fight for, that knowledge died with Brahg. But, they did know a little about the secondary target. It is on our way near the burned out town of Conyberry. They intended to find the treasure rumored to be hidden in the shrine of Savras, just outside of town. I think we should hit them while they look for it, and maybe even find it ourselves. Keeping the loot out of the hands of orcs can only be a good thing"
When searching the wagon you find a small chest containing 150gp, 300sp, 1000cp and 10 small gems. Along with 1 week worth of Goblin rations for 7 people, a barrel of water (40gal) and of course the weapons of the goblins and the bug bear. On the bugbear you find a gold ring with an eagle design set with small rubies and a wanted poster of a woman in dark clothing with the words "Raven's Omen" written on the bottom. The reward offered is 100gp.

After a couple of Hours roasting the pig, Bree has completed cooking the delicious feast for the group. The goblins help to serve everybody before helping themselves and everyone sits down to enjoy their Food. There is still a few hours left before the sun goes down, enough time to make to Conyberry before it gets too dark with the wagon and supplies. The goblins help setup the wagon for the two horses and load your gear, paying particular attention to staying out of the way. They pay Kuori extra special deference.
"Ahhh, Tis a great Tome you have found and very rare. Particularly translated into common. i lost three finders smuggling this out of the Yuan-ti archive. The price for such a treasure is truly hard to calculate. The price for this wondrous book is 750 gp"
Xam says " 750gp is a bargain for such a book, for 10 gp you should look in the trinket box..If you lack the funds, perhaps there is another way for you to gain the book."
" If you can accomplish a retrieval for me just outside of Conyberry, i will give you the book as payment for the item of my interest. Should be a simple matter for a fellow of your caliber, plus you have friends, making it even easier. A walk in the park, so to speak. What I seek lays in the Shrine of Savras, just outside of town. Its a mysterious key and was lost to human knowledge when the town was sacked and its people all murdered so long ago. Bring me the key and the payment will be fulfilled. I will leave a box i front of this shop for you to deposit the key into. Once that is done, the book and its own key will be in your bag when you next stop for a rest. you wont regret it.
