Two remaining demons were obliterated (though, the gas cloud remained - meaning, everyone can keep rolling saves until they leave the area).
Everything was quiet for a moment - then the second "scabquake" came in with another mighty push against the other side of the wall. The gas was obscuring the your vision, but most attentive could see that this time a web of cracks run along the wall in every direction.
Polly, never having stepped into the poison, continues to stay outside of it's area... What she does do it to stay to wedge into a nook or cranny of the tunnel to get some cover and to not be just standing out in the middle of whatever is about to come their way.

If ever there was a time to follow orders, this was it. But Ordrag only goes far enough to leave the gas, then waits with weapons drawn until the others have passed before bringing up the rear.
"Gust of Wind?" Choir asks in a hushed voice. She doesn't want to use up all of Akadi's patience before they get inside the cathedral, where the real dangers might lie, but on the other hand, there's no sense in being miserly with the spells if it gets them killed before they get there.

It was a good use of the spell, because the cloud was not going anywhere by itself and at least Polly, Fran and Choir had to cross the area. With gas gone, it was safe now - or would be, if the thing that was breaking out the wall would not emerge in that moment in the cloud of scab pieces from the break.
By the look of it, sibriex had a serious competitor for the name "the most disgusting" in that creature. The monster resembled a giant mudskipper with the teeth, fur and ears, and it was huge! The creatures mad mindless look glanced over surrounding, it opened up it's enormous jaws and made a sudden laugh of a hyena. The teeth in those jaws each was twice the size of Ordrag and as hard as it is to tell with monsters - it looked hungry.
The creature probably did not noticed you yet, but that was the matter of a few moments.
Clever Choir. With a smile behind her eyes, Fran stood at the ready with her salve should any one have fallen sick to the gas.
At the sight of the emerging beast, she'd check and adjust her own face covering. This thing might spew more, or worse? The artificer would feel around for her bolts. They were gettin' real low now. She'd grumble to herself as she'd load up her precious ammo in preparation for this toothy beast. Hmmm. Wonder if I can turn em into bolts. She'd glance to Adray and Ordrag for the go ahead. Fran would take aim with her crossbow, ready to provide them with cover fire.
"Which way?" Choir looked nervously to the others, ready to bolt at a moment's notice.

Ordrag had been expecting a fight... but this? Together they could possibly defeat it, but at what cost? This place was still crawling with demons, and they were so close to their goal! Still, Ordrag was willing to defend their rear. He had no aspirations of sacrificing himself, but figured if anyone could take a hit on the escape then it would be him. To end of the passage! Run! Me will be right behind you!
(Are we in combat?) Ordrag will hold his position with weapons drawn, and Ready to defend should the monster approach... unless he gets ordered to engage or withdraw.
"Which way? Away from the monster!" Polly advised vigorously and starts pushing Choir and the others to the east ((at least assuming top of map shown is North...)) "If we're not fighting we're fleeing in the way that doesn't put us closer to it!"
"Yes, make way to the temple. Lulu, get us inside. While she works, we hold it off." With that Adray will continue to usher the others forward and will remain at the back of the group.
They each didn't have to tell Fran twice. Popular opinion clearly stated this was not a beastie to mess with when more important goals were within reach. With that reminder in mind, she'd hoof it.
The group retreated into the next tunnel before the monster notice them and the ugly demon did not follow (probably attracted by the smell of dead bodies near by). However, the last stretch of that direct path was still not without obstacles. Even before you left the tunnel and got to the final opening, you could hear the sound - someone again was barking commands and demanded hard work.
Careful look outside (from those who could see in the dark) revealed somewhat expected: brass double doors stand exposed in the wall of the scab ("Yes, this is the entrance!" immediately commented Lulu.). A relief image on the doors depicts a blindfolded angel wielding a sword, and carved into the door frame are beautiful, gold-inlaid runes. Three goat-headed demons with barbed tails throw themselves against the door as a corpulent, ape-like fiend with tusks and tiny wings kicks at them, roaring commands in Abyssal.
From time to time he stands back (may be tired from kicking) and in that moments the already familiar "boss" is trying to get fiends attention, gesturing toward the corridor you are hiding in.
"We could try the tactic of drawing them to us? Clog them up here where the passage narrows, so only one or two can attack us at once?" Polly suggests...
"Area of Effect spells can be very effective against groups of enemy combatants," Choir says.

"I got grease, and I got fire power." Fran grunts. If they could bottle neck them or keep them in a group, she could barrage them with missiles, or drop some grease for slip and slidey demons.
“Be happy teh.” Fran would be willing to take point to poke and lure some flies. If she ends up combusting some ammo in a barrage, it’d blast out in a cone radius, so it was safest for her not to be behind someone when it happens. Should no one else prefer to be bait, the artificer would move up. If there was room for her to leave Adray and Ordrag on either side of her, she would. Otherwise she’d be sure to plan out her steps to swap point with a melee partner once her portion of the plan was deployed. Or not.
“OwImp can try to draw them here...” Polly says, her tone hushed.
“Same plan as last time, huh?” She says to the familiar who has taken leave of her backpack and which was not hovering at face level with most of the group...
“I’m only doing this cause you’re making me!” The imp shaped familiar insisted. “And because insulting and taunting demons is fun...”
Polly would look to the group and wait until everyone was situated. Once they were (Polly far back from the front line but able to hopefully see whatever approaches) she would signal OwImp to fly into action! Invisibly the imp would fly to the largest of the group, make a tail stinger attack, then bolt back to the group, hurling insults and profanities back at the demons as it does...
