The battleaxe found it's target! Bolt of fire passed through it as if the was nothing in the air, but Polly got attacked right back: Attack: 22 Damage: 3 It felt as if concentrated wind gust hit her in the chest, taking her breath away for a moment.
"Is that a ghost axe? Can we hit a ghost axe?" Adray calls out.
Arcana check to see if he recalls anything about this. 16
"Mages attack, magic against magic and all that shit." He calls out. Instead of going after the axe Adray think we break the sarcophagus, we break the sorcerer of the spell.

Surprisingly versed in Arcana knowledge Adray guessed right - the thing does appear to be of a ghost kind, and that ghost completely ignores any damage (or any moves, directed at it, to be precise) of everyone. One would say it single out Polly and the rest of the party are sort of spectators here.
Sarcophagus proved to be too much for Adray - old stone still holds up. Battleaxe ignored Adray's attacks on sarcophagus as well.
Fran would blink a couple times trying to take in what's unfolding in front of her. Polly's firebolt went right through it, Acid will probably do the same... Adray's idea to go after the sarcophagus might be on the right track... but is it in fact the source? Thinking to herself, the artificer will scan the sarcophagus and the immediate area for its source of power/weakness.
Arcana: 22 to test her knowledge of the spell or magic item? Investigation: 13 if you wanted it for her ability to find the source of power or weakness.
"A lil' righty Tighty," Fran will pull out a dagger with her right hand, "An' lefty Lucy," pulling out her second dagger with the left hand, "Oughta fix things."
If those rolls determine anything other than the sarcophagus as the source, Fran would attack/poke/prod/scratch at that. If Adray is correct, lets see if the sarcophagus is any match for!:
The battleaxe reminded you of a spell - it's more "spirit" than a ghost and feels like a spell bound to a specific object? a specific place in the room? As an Artificer, you would think of a magic trap, rather than anything else.
Battleaxe ignored Choir's attempts to purge it from existence. And ignored Choir as well. He was still after Polly and Polly alone.
Fran'd daggers left a couple scratches on the marble surface, but that was it - huge stone object refused to break.
Fran will give a puzzled look for a second. “It’s not the sarcophagus. It may even be a magical trap of some sort?” Her eyes would follow to it’s Target, which is Polly. “Do you have an item on you that could be triggering it?”
Polly inhale deeply when the ghost axe hit her in the chest, but quickly gather her wits.
“Bubbles! Magic doesn’t seem to work on it! The only thing is the spell books I have gathered.”
Polly, who realized that she is the target of the ghose ace then cast Minor Illusions and create a stone around herself with small look holes here and there so she sees what’s happening.

It did not look like Battleaxe was impressed by Polly's illusion - either it could see right through it, or could not see at all and reacted to something else. It attacked Polly again, ignoring talking and stumbling about other adventurers. At least ignoring for now. Attack: 23 Damage: 10 (another violent blow)
By the way, when Choir was stirring black sludge in the sarcophagus, the hummer did not bang at anything, sarcophagus feels empty (magic trap aside)
Choir has no idea what will stop the axe. She will hold her action and try to use her shield to protect Polly the next time it attacks.

If there is a weakness - it's not obvious. It attacked Polly, after Polly attacked it first, even though her attack did nothing to the persistent spiritual weapon, and looks like determined to keep attacking. It does not try to flank Polly, or get away from the sarcophagus. But yet again, Polly did not try it either...
Axe did not follow! Instead it turned around as if searching for another victim. And it seems it chose Adray this time adjusting itself for a good strike as him.
"Everyone out. We dont need what's here!" He hollers out. He will then move towards the exit making sure hes the last to leave if its focused on him. He will move the 30 feet he can and keep the dodge action imposing disadvantage on any attacks.
Getting out of the room sounds like a great idea! Choir scoots.

Ghost axe?
Choir attempts Channel Divinity: Turn Undead on the axe. It can't hurt...
She raises the holy symbol of Akadi, chanting the abjuration against the undead!
(If it works against the axe, it must pass a DC14 wisdom save)
