DRIFTCHAPEL CLIMAX EPISODE SIX: "THE CULT OF QATU"
The gibbering madmen of the Cult of Qatu have never been closer to achieving their profane goal, scrawling a runic circle with a mixture of human and Deep One blood outside of town where you have fled to. Their ancient master, Qatu, slumbers in her tomb beneath the waves - but now, the tide has risen, and the time has come to unleash her unreckonable destruction upon the world. Qatu Cultists willingly kill and die for their master, and will stop at nothing to complete their ritual.
CHALLENGE ONE - THE RUNIC CIRCLE:A circle of blood and seaweed dominates the area, ringed with weeping, black candles and surrounded by five robed cultists. The circle occasionally activates, glowing a dark crimson and expelling a wave of crippling psychic energy. As you stand near it, a DC15 WIS save must be made or suffer psychic damage as you fend off the horrors of another reality. The psychic energy stops once all five cultists have been killed. Those who attack the cultists will be in range of this horrible energy.
CHALLENGE TWO - THE AVATAR OF QATU:As the battle commences, a cultist leader speaks aloud a profane phrase and bleeds itself with a curved dagger. A moment later, it transforms, body twisting, warping, and ripping in two to reveal a new, horrific form. The Avatar of Qatu has risen, a massive tentacled sea behemoth with little of it's human form intact. As everyone witnesses this Lovecraftian transformation, your mind rips apart and takes damage unless you make a DC15 CON save. This happens once. Then, it attacks.
CHALLENGE THREE - THE FIVE FULCRUMS:The five cultists standing around the runic circle appear to be concentrating, attempting to complete the awakening ritual. As this happens, horrors from beyond emerge and attack anything in sight. Someone must push back the waves of Nightmare.
OPTIONS YOU CAN DO ON YOUR TURN: Attack the cultists in Challenge One, attack the Avatar of Qatu in Challenge Two, attack the waves of Nightmare in Challenge Three. Heal yourself or one person, Cast a spell.
