Jororic continues his assault on the Hyena next to him bringing out his new magical battleaxe, hoping to get the job done faster (still flanking thanks to Scath).

Valentia brings her spiritual mace claser to the blinded gnoll, and has it strike again.

The incorporeal weapon hits the gnoll in the back. While it was not as strong as she would've liked, it was enough for the beastman's back to move out of alignment with as sickening CRACK! If falls to the ground, motionless (6 force damage and dead).
She then turn her attention to the northern hyena and sound out another knell.

It lust for blood seems much stronger than the call of death, for now.
Scath, still in defense of his master, keeps attacking the barely-standing hyena.

In a gruesome display, Scath's scythe-like forearms sink deep into the beast and spreads them, spilling the overgrown beast's viscera onto the desert arid ground (12 piercing damage and dead)

"Unfortunately, yes. Desert's lousy with 'em," Cree says as she pulls an arrow out of her thigh and two out Scath.
She then goes over to the gnoll's broken body and examines it for a bit. "As for this one... No, I haven't seen him before," She points to it's shoulder "But this brand, I do recognize. He is -or was, at this point, part of the Arzhou Band. They are among the smaller hordes of gnolls. As small as they are, they are notorious for quick, brutal attacks with small numbers."

"I'm not hearin' anything else nearby... Odds are, this one was lookin' ta bring home some kinda trophy on its own."
“Well we should probably keep moving, right?” Lia says, wiping sweat from her forehead and pushing sweat-damp hair behind her ear. “The bodies are likely to draw scavengers aren’t they?”
"Reckon we should," Cree replies. "We have 'bout an hour or two of sunlight left before it gets dark. Fortunately the fight didn't take too long, so we're more or less on track."
Cree leads Scath back to the wagon, "C'mon big guy, Nothing here but hyena meat, anyway." Scath gives a visceral grimace as soon as she mentioned 'hyena meat.'
After moving the bodies out of the way of the bath ahead and behind them, the expedition continue their travels.
Eventually, they come to a stop when the sun goes beyond the horizon and innumerable stars come into view.
"Alright! Let's set up camp and get some good shuteye. We got a ways ta go tomorrow!"
After she looses Scath's reins, he curls up and gives a toothy yawn.
She then helps setting up everyone's tents.
"Never got around ta askin,' how'd y'all meet?"

Turning to a new target, the surrounded hyena turns and bites at Jororic.
Bite Attack: 10 Damage: 10
Jororic's armor is more than sufficient to blunt the beast's fangs.
The other remaining hyena now has access to the group's guide and advances to attack her.
Bite Attack: 25 Damage: 12
Its jaws clamp down on Cree's shoulder, savaging her arm (12 piercing damage)
Scath's turn is next.

Seeing his master getting torn up by an overly large beast, he turns in defense of her.

As he spins around, he is able to jab it with one arm, but the other one merely glances off (5 piercing damage).

Its vision in near-total darkness, the gnoll stumbles around to find find what it thinks is cover and fires two arrows again at Scath and Cree.

Beyond all belief, the gnoll hears two meaty thuds followed by a screech and a grunt each (Cree takes 9 and Scath takes 6 Piercing damage).

Oswin will send his SD to help him flank the northern hyena and combine their attacks to try and take it down quick.

Lia has her spiritual dagger strike at the hyena again...

She herself sends a ray of frost at the blinded gnoll...

Oswin and his creation go to the northern hyena and successfully assault it (15 piercing and force damage).
Lia commands her immaterial dagger to strike the nearby hyena again and this time, it makes solid contact (10 force damage.)
She then follows up by sending a chilling ray toward the gnoll. It's a minor hit, but it does enough to chill the desert dweller (1 cold damage).
Cree will go next.

Cree shoves off the large hyena, which is now looking to be in increasingly rough shape. As she does, the darkness around the gnoll's eyes dissapates.
After taking a deep breath (second wind: 4), she turns to the offending monster and sends a spray of flames at it.

Damage: 9
It is only slightly singed from the burst of flame, which it barely dodges (2 fire damage).
She then musters the energy to send another arrow at the gnoll (action surge).

Again, shadowy energy bursts out of its chest and goes to its eyes.

Arcane damage: 5
Again, the gnolls eyes are obscured and it is bleeding profusely (16 piercing and psychic damage).
