“Yes, if you can tell us anything about what is in here, how many goblins, who is in charge, if they are a goblin, what sort of place this is, anything you have heard, please do so. Also, do you know a female goblin named Pox? She was sleeping at the entrance and seemed to be opposed to the cruel ways of the others and we let her go outside, with the gnome Chrys mentioned.”
"Pox is really nice, please don't be afraid of her. If you go out, say that "Krackle says Hi!" the Kobold would say as he moved towards the injured halfling. He would look up towards her and place his hand on her arm. "Ellywick might be hiding. She is a nice gnome and well help hide you if you can get her to come out." He would add with a smile.
The mention of Longsaddle causes Kess' brow to twitch, before she turns to face the halfliing with concern. For a moment, Kess regarded Krackle, her expression forlorn.
Just another reminder that Krackle and Pox were exceptions to the rule; and if the grimy weapons were any indication, there was no hospitality for the party here.
"Watch yourselves against their blades; their weapons are in horrid condition and will likely break under enough duress, but a single cut could cause infection."
Deciding to give the others a break, Kess would creep quietly over to the door and quietly try to pry it open, looking to see what she can see.
"I'm Harriet. Harriet Hilltopple. And yes, there were a few of us who got dragged here. Don't rightly know how many... I think a few of our companions were killed out on the road when they attacked us. Far as I can remember, there were four or five of us who were captured. Most of 'em were locked in that other room over there and left to starve, while I was kept in here to be made a slave by those three mean greenies that you just killed."
"Me fellow caravaners who were put in there died quickly, but then a week or so later, we stared hearin' a terrible thumpin' sound comin' from in there. The goblins were right terrified and so they spiked the door shut."
As Kess approaches the door just off this room to the east, she can see that it's been jammed shut with iron stakes. A single word has been scrawled across the door with chalk, in letters that she cannot read. (Does anyone speak goblin?)
The door will not open with a simple pull, but it looks as if you could muscle it open with enough force. (If you wish to try, make a Strength check.)
"Anaways... I don' know how many goblins there are in this awful, dank place, but I seen the leader. Wish I hadn't, though. Frightening creature he is. He wears a dark mask and he's meaner'n a honey badger. I ain't a violent woman, but I hope you kill him quickly."
"Don't remember seeing noone by the name o' Pox. I was pretty beat up when the brung me in here. I'll be glad to get outta this place, but I'm not gonna go wandering' around here by myself. You're gonna have to lead me out, 'cause I don't know the way."
Vesper can't read goblin, but she figures that a door that goblins would seal off for their own safety must be containing something pretty fierce. "I don't think that we should open this door right now. I think that we should take Harriet out to see Ellywick and then go through the other set of doors."

"I can help.. I can lead you to Pox and Ellywick! Then I will hurry back real fast!" Krackle would offer with a smile as he takes the halflings hand. He would begin to pull her back towards the main room and stairs unless stopped by someone. "That door seems scary... " He would add looking to Vesper. "I can handle taking her out of the cave but if you want we can go together!" He would add with a smile.
(OOC: Sorry sarcastic, didn't see your post at first!)
Her paladin senses tingling, Chrys reaches for Kess. "Don't open that door. I can't read whatever's on that sign, but if it ain't undead behind there, I'll eat my shield. We can try to put 'em to rest later, but right now... we got goblins to deal with first."
Lumen will try to comfort Harriet, offering to carry her in his arms if her legs are weak. He gives the goblin bodies sour looks and actually kicks one as he passes.
"Judging from the foul symbology that permeates this place, I'm not so sure you want to make that bet, Chrys," Kess said, hoping to add some levity to the air. "A friend of mine used to tell me that there are many things that dwell in the dark beneath the world, back when I was doing some work in Luskan. It could well be a fiend or some type of monster from the Underdark bound up in there for all we know."
Turning her attention to Harriet, however, Kess couldn't help but offer the woman a look of sympathy. While her story was certainly far from unique in the harsh lands of the North, it certainly had to be dreadful listening to her comrades suffer for all this time.
"Let's get you out of here, and well on the way to a hot supper and a nice, warm bed. Heavens know you need it. We'll assure that your tormentors won't be able to do this to anybody else, if we can help it."
Assuming that you all go as a group and escort Harriet out of this place together, you return to the entry chamber and climb the stairs back up to the cave entrance.
Walking outside, the halfling breaks down when she sees the daylight for the first time in quite awhile. She doesn’t remember how long it’s been since she was taken captive, and she cries as she kneels down and grabs at the dirt and leaves with her hands, remembering once again what the real world above ground feels like.
When Harriet stands up again, you lead her over to the rise where you left Ellywick. Seeing you approach with Harriet, the gnome emerges from her hiding place and greets you.
”Oh my, what have you here? You poor lass... you’re lucky to be alive, dear. Thank the gods! Does this meat you’ve finished clearing out the cave already?”
”Oh, and that strange little goblin girl came out. Curious thing indeed. She kept saying that Krackle said hi, so I figured that you sent her out. I did my best to remain calm and talk softly, hard as it was... a gnome talking to a goblin... what’s the world coming to?”
”She sat here with me for a short while... which was very odd, I must say, but then she got uneasy and ran off into the woods. I don’t know where she went, but if you need to find her again, I can try and track her.”

"Hmm,"Chrys says with a deep frown. "I don't trust her... but even a goblin deserves a break, if them others been puttin' her through hell. Maybe it'll teach her to be different from the rest 'o them. But we need ya to take care o' Harriet here, Ellywick, not chase after that scared goblin girl. She's in a might worse shape than Pox was. An' there's more evil in that there cave than just goblins... I think somethin' happened to Harriet's friends there. Turned their bodies into somethin' even the goblins are 'fraid of. We gotta get to the bottom o' this."
When the others are ready, Chrys will lead the way back into the cave, shield at the forefront and hammer in hand, up to the first intersection once again. She checks for movement and danger, just as before:
"Yeah! lots to explore. Thanks for looking after pox. Hope you dont mind hiding with our new friend till we get back."Krackle would say with a smile. "I do hope OOC is OK" He would add with a bit of a worried frown as he goes to turn back towards the cave.
Ellywick bids you farewell again and promises that she’ll take stay out of sight and care of Harriett while you go back and finish your task. She has some extra clothing and food to offer, which will help make the halfling more comfortable.
Leaving them behind, the five of you return to the cave entrance and descend back down into the abandoned temple. In a few minutes, you find yourselves back in the main hallway, in front of the right hand passage that led you to the room where you found Harriet.

Lumen nods and gestures with a bow to Chrys, indicating that she take the lead. Then he pops up and realizes he's most likely to be able to open a locked door and listen there, so he takes a look/listen at the door (perception: 13) and tries to see if it's locked, slowly. If it's not, he'll swivel and allow the tougher members of the party to go first.

Krackle would stay very close to his companions. Walking directly behind then as his robe drags just a bit on the dirt and stone floor. The tiny kobold would keep his eyes peeled in the dark looking and listening for threats and he follows Lumens lead and tries to look and listen as well.
