Vespers Mage Hand will lift the hand far enough off the ground to where Krackle can't reach it and keep it at a safe distance. When Chrys goes over to destroy the mask with her hammer, she'll have the hand move it down to the dwarfs reach.
Krackle would thrash around for a bit before stopping as his tiny chest raises and falls rapidly. His frail body cracks and pops under the weight of his companions pressing down on him. His large beady eyes focus only on the mask however even as he stops resisting for a moment. He doesn't respond to his pleading companions as though he doesn't hear them.. He mearly winces in pain as he lay on the ground staring up at the mask..
OOC: I would say if someone does cast sleep, that Krackle will go to sleep.
Once Krackle is magically placed under, the mage hand drops the mask in front of Chrys. "Ok, I hope this works." Just in case the mask isn't broken by the hammer, Vesper cuts off about 7 feet of rope.

Lumen's still furious and is barely seeing Krackle's wincing. But he does realize that it's not likely the odd, foolish, but usually-well-meaning kobold doing this. He casts sleep so that Krackle's in the area, and as few other people are in it as possible, especially not Ellywick and Harriet. "If I put myself to sleep, just shake me awake,"he says to Kess, Vesper, and Chrys.
With her long, but strong arms, Kess is able to keep a tight hold on Krackle and prevent him from wriggling free while you try to reason with him and discuss your next course of action. Throughout all of this, Ellywick, who recognizes the dangerous situation that has been unfolding has led Harriet away and off to safety in the woods right when Krackle transformed into a bear. She gives you a concerned look of understanding and says that she'll "just be over here a ways" until you can get things sorted out.
As Vesper uses her Mage Hand to lift the mask up out of reach, Lumen prepares to cast his Sleep spell. Knowing that even though he can target a single point, the effect is a 20 foot radius outward from that point, so he instructs everyone else to stand back, except for Kess, who is holding Krackle secure. So, it's very possible that she might also be affected by the spell, but the alternative is Krackle escaping. And you can always wake Kess back up if needed.
Fortunatly, that ends up not even being an issue. Lumen points right at Krackle's chest and casts the spell, and you watch as Krackle falls into a deep magical slumber. Even though Kess is right there next to him, the spell does not seem to effect her and she remains conscious.
"We've got less than a minute. I'll tie him up if someone can hand me some rope. Let's try to shatter, crush, or burn the mask. Chrys, your hammer? Vesper, some fire? Kess, anything?"He looks around for any flat stones nearby for the mask to lay on.
(Asked this before, but what is the mask made of?)
Lumen also moves his silent image of the mask from the treetop down to the ground, in front of Krackle, where it rests. It lasts ten minutes, and sleep lasts one.
Vesper tosses Lumen the segment of rope that she's finished cutting. "This should be enough to restrain him with." (There's no check that has to be made to tie someone up in 5e, but the person that's tied up has to make a DC17 Strength check to break free). "I can cast Magic Missile two more times today. If Chrys' hammer doesn't get the job done, I'll shoot some missiles at it and if that doesn't get the job done, then we need Dundragon's help."

(Can Chrys use her dwarven racial knowledge to know if there's a way to break obsidian? Say, to grant advantage on the roll or something?)
Chrys takes a moment to stare at Krackle with equal parts of concern and disappointment. Turning away silently, she will try to smash the mask with Due Process.
Regardless of whether Chrys succeeds in destroying the mask, Vesper will speak to the rest of the group while Lumen ties up the sleeping Krackle. "This was what I was afraid of happening to Krackle. Not specifically getting corrupted by some evil mask, but acting without thinking and getting himself in trouble. I don't think that he's stupid, just that I don't think that he's aware of how dangerous adventuring is. Like how Lumen needed to keep Krackle from running in the cave. We got lucky, because the goblins didn't have any traps and no one was keeping watch except Pox, but if there were traps or creatures down there that weren't so easy to beat, he'd be dead. I hope that this ordeal will teach him not to just grab every item off of the bad guys we kill on this journey, but I think that someone needs to have a talk with him in regards to how acting without thinking can get him killed really quick in our area of work."

Oh right... dwarves. Ever direct, bless their souls.
"Erm." Kess paused awkwardly, having just witnessed Chrys layeth the smacketh down upon the mask (or whatever happens to be left of it). "What I was going to say is two things: one, all I unfortunately have in terms of the magical is the ability to evoke bolts of flame, which may not help much against stone... and second, given where we found it and the sheer amount of evil that permeated that place, it may be wise to keep it hidden and out of reach of anybody for now and show that mask or whatever remains of it to Mr. Dundragon. For a mask to turn a sweet little thing like Krackle into a murderous, covetous individual... I cannot but feel that such wicked power is not something easily trifled with. Such a thing shouldn't be in the hands of anyone but those able to restrain themselves against such power."
"Agreed. That's why I was willing to keep it in the bag and transport it that way, so that no one is actually touching it. So we should take the opportunity now, while Krackle's asleep to put the mask, or whatever's left of it in somebody's pack, so that he won't know where it is once he wakes up. And obviously, we'd all keep close watch on our packs."

(For the sake of expediency, I'll move this along quickly and take a bit of liberation with my descriptions of the action.)
After Vesper lays the mask down onto a somewhat flat stone on the ground with her mage hand, Chrys studies it carefully for a few seconds, noticing that it's a solid piece of carved obsidian, about 1/4" thick. This is the first time she's really inspected it, and to her eyes the craftsmanship doesn't exactly look dwarven, but it does seem to be made with a skilled hand.
Then, feeling satisfied with her quick analysis, she stands back up, winds up and slams Due Process down with a great deal of force, aiming right for the nose of the mask.
KRACK-A-WHAM!!!!
The crash of stone on stone reverberates loudly and sends vibrations up the sides of Chrys's arms. Except that when she pulls her hammer away, she sees that the mask is still intact. There is a little bit of damage to the stone and a couple of slight cracks along the bridge of the nose, but the hammer strike didn't seem to do anything.
Feeling surprised and clearly frustrated, Chrys lets out a frustrated grunt and leans down to inspect the mask again. It's obvious that the object is more durable than any regular old thin sheet of obsidian would be, and it would be easy to speculate why that might be.
However, since you only have a minute, of which nearly half of which has now passed, Chrys stands up, winds up again and slams her hammer down for a second time, exerting even more force with this swing.
KAWHAM!!!!
And then she does it again.
KABLAK!!!!
...and again.
KRACK!!!!
...and again.
KRRRACCK!!!!
After her four hits in quick succession, Chrys waves away the dust that's now filling the air in front of her and leans down to inspect...
...This time, she sees that the mask is indeed broken into a three pieces. However, for as hard as she hit the thing, and for as many times, you would all have thought that it would be in far worse shape. You would have assumed that the Due Process would have ground it into to a mess of small, jagged, pebble sized shards. Instead you see the broken, but not totally destroyed object staring back up at you with the visage of a now deformed, broken wicked looking face.
Meanwhile, you hear Lumen, who has been keeping count, reaching the end of the minute.
"56 smelly orc tribes...57 smelly orc tribes...58 smelly orc tribes...59..." (Or whatever traditional phrase he would typically use to track the time. 😂)
Quickly, Vesper's spectral hand gathers up the three pieces and shoves them back into her pack.
A second later, the little kobold's eyes open back up, and he finds himself on the ground, securely tied up, with his companions standing over him.
Chrys waves the dust away and wipes the sweat from her brow, stowing Due Process. She turns around and gives a thankful nod to Vesper, before joining Lumen and Kess and crouching down by Krackle. She continues to just watch, saying nothing, and instead trying to read the little kobold's body language as he answers the others, checking to see if he still seems to be under the influence of the curse.

Thought persuasion check might be applicable if Krackle's mind is not his own right now, but that makes sense.

(And yes, he'd happily allow Vesper to mage hand the mask to safety.)(So we may then destroy it.) :)

The mask is made from carved obsidian. And yes, you’re able to find a copine of suitably sized stones on the ground nearby.
