"Ah, I apologize. I have yet to introduce myself to you all in your tongue. Vinxa is actually draconic for thank you. And please, I am no master, just a mere disciple of faith." He resets the board, "Hmm, my clan is the Jesenei, my given name is Vono, although most challengers tend to refer me as Tenacious...Forgive me but I lack most knowledge of this...game? It is very unlike the scrolls they would have us read. And I know of a few of yours would like to fight, but I am only able to have a match with one."
Sylvester: “My apologies Vono. The game is simple to learn, but you are right my group is eager to fight and proceed. Traveler willing, one of them will win. You are a formidable opponent.”
Sylvester will join the group sitting next to Kastor trying to give him as many pointers to help if he chooses to fight.
"Very well. We shall meet at the sparring grounds then. I wish you glory." Before he heads to the grounds, he gives a bow of his head to Sylvester, "I shall take you up on your offer and shall see if we can return to the game or if I am to guide you all afterwards."
"Now then, would you like me to begin or shall I?" He asks Kastor.
Kastor steps into the sparring grounds, taking on the invitation. He calmly looks at his adversary, sizes him up for a moment, nods in respect, and then summons his Wildfire Spirit, 10ft away from Vono (DC13 DEX save or take 17 Fire Damage).
Kastor then used his bonus action to cast Flame Blade, and awaits retaliation.
Kastor's spirit makes its fiery entrance, scorching Vono. The dragonborn tries to stab at Kastor through the flames only to find his reach too short. He tries to follow it with a kick and a elbow thrust still unable to harm Kastor.
The dragonborn keeps the distance, not going for a parry but simple evasion of the flames. The flame spirit's aim is off as it strikes the building. He sways away from the flame blade.
The monk swings widely with the end of of his spear, colliding into Kastor's temple. Leaving Kastor stunned from the blow, the dragonborn readies a barrage of blows.
Monk Attacks
Spear Attack: 24 Damage: Unable to parse dice roll.
(Honestly, he draining my luck. Like really, another crit.)
The monk brings his spear around once more, striking the other side of Kastor's head. As Kastor falls, Vono sheaths his spear, giving a bow, "You fought well, spellcaster."
With the duel over, Vono looks to the group. "Shall I fetch a pail for your comrade?" He asks.
(Kastor can do a short rest and regain all his HP back.)
After helping with Kastor, the lizardfolk has their turn.
They go with a brute of a lizard for the duel. The dragonborn's approach is slightly different as he just evades most of the brute's attack while attacking back. It takes longer than the other rounds but the brute eventually falls, battered and bruised almost everywhere. And as with the first, the lizardfolk carry off their companion back to their dwelling in the abandoned village.
Night nears and Vono comes to check upon you all with blankets, "Would you like some blankets?" He asks.
"I will take one." Nasaar agrees. He would accept one. "I will fight you when the next combat is allowed to happen." He tells the monk, as well as his companions.
"Of course, but I must meditate during the night. We may talk more of matches and chess in the morning. For breakfast in the morn it will be bread, hopefully it is to your liking all. Now please excuse me, I must see to the lizardfolk's needs as well." He quickly leaves after setting spare blankets on a cot.
(Feel free to do a long rest and Nasaar is set for the match tomorrow?)

(Once you guys choose who will fight, then the same match shall happen under the same rules.)
Kastor steps forward, with a quick look to the rest of the group, and nods respectfully to Vono.
"It could be said that tenacity is simply to have a fire in your spirit. Let us see how the two match up."

@Kastor: “I told you he was quick and hits hard. Not being able to keep a distance is definitely a hindrance”
@Vono : “I do not need the blanket but thank you. I don’t really sleep much. We can play our game when everyone else is asleep if you like.”
Sylvester will sit at the dragonchess set patiently.
