Soveliss looks at the woman with stoicism, but speaks with a subtle warmth, "Calm yourself. Please, breath and explain to us what is wrong, perchance we may be of aid."
Persusassion: 21
The woman seems to calm down a bit, glancing around as she twitches and cringes from anything and everyone. "Have you seen my doctor around?" She asks. "He is Dr. Brains at the Adamant Asylum..." After a moment she wanders away, caught up by something only in her mind.
You first try to touch the mind of the Nurse... She is wondering what the item for auction might be today. She has heard a rumor that tomorrow's auction is going to be for some strange magical barrel, but has no clue what today's is. Next you try to touch the mind of the woman with the sewn-together face as a mask... She frowns at you as you cast your spell, and you hear her thinking about why you are casting a spell and wondering about what you are doing here and who you are. Finally you do the same with the man in the cloak and mask. He just remains there, your spell somehow unable to affect him.
Al-Ashari pursed her lips - not helpful, not helpful at all. Still, it was not a complete waste, now she knew about magical item on tomorrow sale, and the fact that her own magic can be transparent to locals or outright blocked.
There was one more experiment she would dare to conduct - talking to patrons. "That face is quite elegant, if I may say so," she smiled friendly at the woman in a mask. "Glad to see the auction here has some style in it. Though I would not refuse some more open approach. I mean bidding and listing."
If the woman did not react to small talk, Al-Ashari would sit on the bench (inviting Lunastra to do the same) with the look of a patient auction attendee, waiting for buddings to begin, while casually looking around, trying to get any clues about the place, the items in the boxes and those curious people around.
You go first. The brain things are closing in on your position, about 20 feet away. They don't seem to know your exact location, but are somehow able to hone in on your location regardless.

Kale...
As you continue around the building you find... Men and women in white laboratory coats stride through the streets purposefully. They wear bright metal pins denoting their place of work - somewhere called the Adamant Asylum... There are 2 of them. They do not seem to notice you.
The dozen homeless mill all around you as the mad woman moves off. You spot the woman a block or so away a moment later, where a tentacle reaches up out of a storm drain and yanks her away, the sound of a scream, cut-off, and crunching bones can be heard even from this distance. The milling homeless do not react, and it is clear it is far too late to help the woman regardless. The tiny raven on Soveliss's shoulder shreaks... "Death! You all will die!"
"You like my Lovely?" The woman says, patting the sewn-together face over her own. "I am rather pleased with it myself..." She seems quite pleased that you complemented the mask. "Oh, Mr Fiddle and Mr Blind will get around to putting something on the auction block sooner or later. They sometimes manage it by this time, but it can be much later... I imagine it won't be too long though, not with newcomers like you two here to meet." She looks over both of you then with a frank look. "I am guessing you have not been here too long... You don't look like long-timers for certain."

Thursday flips a dagger into the air and catches it at the tip and flings it at one of the brain dogs.

A madhouse? There's a courtyard full of inmates just waiting for those two to arrive. Internally shaking his head, Kale stays hidden lets the individuals pass by before he continues his circuit.
( If he doesn't find Thursday on the way back, he will enter the courtyard again and make his way towards the building's interior. Whatever he does might change if he does run into her depending on the situation. )
"Why, yes, who would not? It's so exquisite. And we are indeed newcomers here, but how could you tell?" comfortably continued Al-Ashari the mad conversation, "I do see you are an expert, though. Are there any rumours what can we expect to see today?"

Your dagger flies true, slamming into one of the brain puppies, but it does not seem to do the amount of damage you would have expected. The thing is hurt, but not down. All four move towards you still, coming right up to your hiding spot, though it takes a double move for them, so none of them can attack.
Thursday and Kale...
The people in lab coats have moved on (unless Kale did something to get their attention) and kale now sees four dog-sized brain things clambering around near a shadowy section of the ruins. (Give me a perception check if you want to try and spot Thursday...) One of the brain puppies has a dagger stuck into its side. Kale, you are about 30 feet from the brain puppies. (Thursday, give me a perception check if you want to try and spot Kale. Remember both of your guy's perception is done with disadvantage...)
Kale sees Thursday suddenly appear in the shadows, then take down one of the brain things with her rapier, then Kale sees her sprint away from them, heading in his direction. The brain things move to follow, then change their minds, and flow away into the shadows, disappearing into the ruins. Combat is over...

The walking brains are strange enough, but the dagger sticking out of one of them catches Kale‘s attention as the oddest thing here. Taking the dagger as a sign of the creatures’ ill intents, Kale readies himself for a potential messy encounter, looking annoyed. He glances around more carefully, searching for signs of Thursday‘s presence anywhere.
PERCEPTION, DISADVANTAGE: 21
Regardless of what he finds, he draws out his fochlucan bandore and strums a soothing tune on it, hoping to catch the little creepy little things off guard while they‘re not paying attention. „Brains with feet, walking so straight, I wonder if you’ve seen my teammate?“ he sings, casting charm monster on all four of them at the 7th level. Thanks to his bandore, they have a disadvantaged chance to resist his charming song.
Backing up here a bit then... You do spot Thursday in the shadows by the brain puppies. Roll initiative if you want to take the above action, will need to see where you show up in the order as to what happenens...

This is going to take some research, so I'll post when I get that done...

Thursday draws her rapier and pokes at the injured brain.
Attack: 16 Damage: 7
(if hidden from my stealth roll still, adv roll 29 and sneak attack: 17)
Then Thursday does a big flourish with her rapier to create a little moment of time where she can safely disengage (cunning action) and run 30ft back.
