"Find whatever looks like a gigantic bridge, and try searching underneath it, that's my best guess," Kale replies. "It seems like finding things here is a bit of a crapshoot regardless of what directions we were given."
The Firbolg walks at a brisk pace as she takes the lead. She shudders as she steps into the rain, and it doesn't have anything to do with the cold. There was something clearly unnatural about the mist, the abandoned buildings, and the cobbled, maze-like streets, and the druid hadn't spent a minute of her life outside of nature. She had always looked upon human civilizations with distaste, but from a distance, and she never imagined that she would be forced to tread upon such violated land within her lifetime.
Luna grits her teeth and bears with it, determined to do whatever she could to leave. Taking heed of Cicero's warnings, she is well aware of the dangers that might lurk in every corner, and she keeps a watchful eye on her environment as she heads towards the group's destination, trusting her allies to be following close by.
(Luna has a passive perception of 25. Also, I'd say it's a lot more Bloodborne vibes than Dark Souls :P)
"Dreary," Kale observes as he steps out behind everyone else. Pulling up the hood of his cloak, he squints into the rain. "It looks decrepit now... but things have to be new, once, before they can be old. Of course, I'd have to have a word with the architect about the complete lack of aesthetic appeal." He inspects the buildings further. "Maybe this is the place where dying things go to be forgotten."
While keeping a general eye out for any of the nasty things that might be hiding in the dense mists, Kale reaches into his bag of tricks and pulls out one of the fuzzy balls. Tossing it before one of the empty houses where a bit of open area can be found around the rubble, he waits a moment to see what appears.

(OOC: It's a lion, but I'll wait to see what actually appears in this setting.)
Kale jumps in surprise at the... thing... that appears before him. It hisses in an incomprehensible language - this creature is not the usual fuzzy, furry woodland creature he was expecting from his bagful of friends. Friendly it still is, though, and... it seems like it can speak, something that's never happened before.
Clearing his throat, he strums a soothing tune on his bandore and attempts to communicate with the animal (Bardic Inspiration, Universal Speech).
"You, creature. Stay close, and stay hidden. Guard us, but do not start battles. Attack only our enemies."
Lunastra looks at the formidable bridge that looms several streets ahead, frowning when she observed its location above several houses instead of water. She briefly glances at her surroundings before turning, addressing the group in its entirety. "That bridge...I don't like it. Should we investigate?" Her eyes widen briefly when she sees Kale interacting with some kind of monstrous creature, but she suppresses the urge to attack it, wondering if the man had worked some magic to keep it from turning hostile.
Nightmarish creature, summoned by Kale was just another piece of no less nightmarish mosaic of the Dream. Creature radiated evil but looked very organic under the rain on these wet grey streets. Al-Ashari half expected the streets change right in front of them even though Cicero said it will be subtle.
It was too cold, wet and ... open... to bother with conventional speech. "If you are still curious about Teleporting, we can just check it out now and try to get to the bridge fast," heard Kale her voice in his mind. Firbolg could be leading the way, but so far Kale was leading the whole sudden expedition - and he was curious about teleportation....
Soveliss nodded to Luna's suggestion, "The bridge does seem to stand out, and it would provided a good vantage to better orientate ourselves." He takes note of the monster as well, but pays it little mind, their appearance in this city was still more concerning then the effect of bending it's surroundings had on their magic.
Kale winces, still uncomfortable with the thought of any voices in his head other than his own. Get used to it, he thinks sourly, then glances over his shoulder at Al-Ashari quickly, hoping she didn't hear that.
"I don't think that would be the best of ideas... I'd prefer if we conducted our experiments with a control, like maybe sending one my creature friends through a test run first, before we scatter ourselves across the planes in a mishap."
Al-Ashari certainly did (hear) but did not sound discouraged. "Do I make you uncomfortable by this connection? Some people do find it strangely disturbing. Never understood that - so much more convenient, no noise, no distractions. But if you wish, I can try to use it only in case of a true need." There was a pause. "Oh, and Teleportation "spell" is not that dangerous. Though, with this weather some mishap is possible." These were the last words, Al-Ashari's voiced quieted down and Kale had the feeling his mind is completely his own - no guests.
"Well, to be frank, it is a little unsettling to hear something no one else can in my head," Kale admits readily. His eyes narrow slightly as he continues to look at Al-Ashari, still not sure if she can really read his mind or not. But it's definitely not the mind-reading that sets my teeth on edge about you, he adds pointedly, just to see if she reacts.
He looks over at the the others, who were briskly continuing forward, unaware of the conversation. "It's probably better to form words where everyone can hear them when you speak, Al-Ashari. Miscommunication is something I don't think we can afford to have about us right now."
Catching up to Soveliss and Luna's side, Kale peers up at the bridge, squinting. "Cicero said the last known location of Fiddler & Blind's was under the bridge, and we don't know what we're looking for for anyway. Why don't we get a little closer to it on foot and do some overhead scouting from up above if there's no sign of an auction house in the vicinity?"
As the party is walking, Kale occassionally stops to cast prestidigitation on various ruined buildings they pass, leaving the mark of his guild on the walls. The symbol will only last for an hour at most, he knows, but at least it might help determine if they end up walking in circles for the time being.
"If you say so," serenely answered Al-Ashari out loud, squinting at the houses under the bridge without any indication whether or not she heard previous Kale's thoughts . "May be if we keep our eyes on the target it will not disappear?"She walked walked surprisingly well for someone, who most likely spent a lifetime in comfortable luxury and indeed tried not to let go of their target.
Storm Drains. Spaced at intervals throughout the city, the gigantic metal drains allow the water running through the streets to drop down into nothingness and drain away.
After about a block a tiny black bird flies down and lands on Soveliss's shoulder... "Dead... You are all going to die..." It calls out. it is the same bird that spoke to his familiar earlier.

You all can see the bridge...
Above the streets, a dark bridge rises overhead, shrouded in mist. No water runs underneath, only more houses. What purpose does it serve?
It is ahead of you, several streets away.

With that, he turns and follows after the others.
"As you command..." The creature says in Deep Speech.

Not hearing any of this telepathic conversation, Whitegaze starts walking off towards the bridge, alert to his surroundings.
