Renny - your prestidigitation spell helps quite a bit. It does both of the things you've described. The rug seems... cleaner... not as rotted. The spell cannot clean the entire rug, but it does help. The air smells... fresher... not as rancid.

Flynt - since Renny has made the room smell a bit better, you join the others and light up the room with the torch. (please bear in mind, since you have the torch on I'm not sure you'd be able to have the shield equipped along with the sword.)

Ignatia, when you try and open the door (it was slightly ajar to begin with), it feels like something is holding the door in place. It's odd... it doesn't feel like a solid item, like how a dresser or something might feel like was blocking the door... but something softer, with more give. 

You manage to slowly push the door open, feeling the slight resistance as you do so.

You open the door about halfway open, and see is THIS

..... an insanely large swarm of spiders. You have managed to open the door slowly enough as to not completely disturb them... but you definitely broke some of the equally as insanely thick webbing. Some of the swarm is agitated and is starting to rustle about. 

There's so many spiders, EVERYONE IN THE ROOM CAN HEAR THIS LOUD RUSTLE OF TENS OF THOUSANDS OF SPIDERS.

Combat has not started... yet. What will everyone do?

Ignatia moved rapidly backwards away from the spiders her hands waving before her as she summoned the audible illusion of a thousand strong wasp swarm in front of the spiders hoping to keep them where they were.

Ignatias panicked eyes went to Renny, " Firebug! Your Up!"

Renny looks over and her eyes go wide, "What do you want me to do? Close the door..."

Initiative (just in case): 6

Ignatia had already backed up against the opposite wall.

" I am NOT going near that door! Set them on fire!"

Later, Ignatia would look back on this with intense embarrassment....ghosts, devils, demons she was unphased....but spiders...something about...and SO many....

BUZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

Ignatia, you create the sound of a big wasp swarm. It overpowers the noise of the rustling of the spiders.... at first. ALL of the spiders now have been disturbed and are freaking the **** out! Whether it's due to the surprisingly loud buzz, or due to the spiders being genetically wired to be afraid of bees, they all start to move about in their enormous web which basically fills the closet. The entire black spider mass in the closet is moving, and it's about to pour out the door which is still halfway open.

Renny and Ignatia frantically banter back and forth as the sound of the rustling overpowers the bees! 

Combat still has not started, but it's on the verge... depending on what happens next. I will keep the initiative rolls already made if we need them. 

(this is quite an entertaining picture in my mind ha!)

Flynt is going to stand back and stare at the swarm. "I can face the undead and demons without fear. But insects are another matter. Perhaps a more peaceful solution, like don't touch them and walk away?"

Renny just sort of looks at Ignatia for a half second... she quickly goes to the door and shoves it closed. Then even quicker backs away from it as far as she can just in case..

As Flynt is admiring the swarm of spiders, almost in a trance, Renny scoots by him and quickly shoves the door closed. *squish* you see all of the spiders who were in the door frame get smashed and fall to the ground. Renny then retreats to the north wall with Ignatia. 

So... the rustling of the closet full of spiders (literally) has been muffled a bit, but you can still hear them in there moving about. They don't seem to be able to open the door (whether they are trying or not is unknown) and it seems they are stuck in there. Then, the buzzing from Ignatia's the illusion spell stops.

Ignatia looked at Renny and whispered "thanks".

Then she made a beeline for the exit...

The spiders in the closet are still rustling around, but the sound is getting quieter, and it seems they are starting to calm down.

Ignatia - you make it to the exit and head out into the hallway. 

Ignati moved quickly to the stairwell needing something to take her mind off all those tiny crawling legs.........

She headed past the bathroom to the other end of the stairwell and, steeling herself, opened the door on her right.

Ignatia, please make a Stealth check, unless you want to try and open the door normally.

(you mean the room underneath the bathroom, right?)

Flynt is going to follow Ignatia with his hand on his sword pommel in case anything attacks.
