Place' and Hordkhen walk up to the cultists guarding the malnourished folk. Getting closer, you realize that they're chained to each other. There are only 8, but you surmise these people are here against their will. However, they are not well-fed by any means, and there's no way they could've become this malnourished over a day's time. These people are most likely not from Greenest, as they've been here a while.
Hordkhen hails the cultists, "Hello, fellow cultists, I am also a cultist! I am here to relieve you."
The cultists eye each other suspiciously, then look back at the two of you. Hordkhen and Place' make a CHA check.

Rolling for Place': 10
The four cultists guarding the prisoners look back and forth at each other before one of them says, "I didn't think it was near time for that yet, and why are there only 2 of you? This is a 4 person detail. Are you sure you're not mistaken?"
"Aye..." Tar nods "The watchtower guard Is ready to end shift and patrol was sent out, so we're shorthanded for the moment. I mean, if you want to stay here all night, i'll take the evening off and eat for you..."
"I... If you're willing to stand in, I'm not going to argue. You think you're going to be able to handle 8 of them, or should I wait with you until more relief is able to get here? There's a reason the detail is meant for four of us."
When you reply, make a persuasion/deception/intimidation check, your choice.

The cultist who has been speaking nods. "Fair enough, Go easy on them, though. They're probably not long for this world at this point. We have been... handling them enough already." He smiles and motions the other three guards to follow him. Soon they're out of sight.

Waiting for the guards to meander off, Tar then takes one of his rations and tears it into small portions and shares it with any prisoner that wants a piece- "Look like you bunch haven't ate in a while... have a small bite, your bellies won't take to any more than that just yet... " He scans them over- "...but there's some water in it if you tell me where you're all from..."
The prisoners look confused, but they devour the bits of ration and eventually one of them speaks with a weak, cracked voice, "We're from Easting, but I don't know where we are now."
"Spill what you know... " He sternly eyes the group and crouches- passing another ration "...you might make it out of here if you do. Did they sack Easting? Did the indicate where they were headed? Any detail you have buys you help when you need it most."
"You might let us go? You mean, you're not with them? Yeah, they got Easting, don't know where they're going, they just keep talking about getting a hoard worthy of 'Her Glory,' and their growing numbers. We've been trying to escape but we're too weak now. We're the last of the prisoners, the rest were forced to convert or fed to the drakes," A few of them start breaking down crying at the mention of their loved ones being ripped to shreds in front of them. "They mentioned one other 'special' prisoner, but he's not here, might be on top of the hill. Either way, they have something planned for him since he's not down here working for us. He's new, might be from the last raid."

"There are cracks... gulleys or washouts all along the walls of this camp..." He takes the guards keys and unlocks each restraint. "...keep them closed, not drawing attention. There's a healer with us, and we might offer help if possible, but if they catch and kill us, hiding there is your best shot- until then, this here prisonguard is going to pay the special prisoner a visit." Hordken stands back up and looks to Place, and toward the hill, "About time for inspection on the other prisoner eh?"
Atop the hill mentioned by the now fleeing prisoners, you indeed see a lone prisoner tied to a stake. He appears Elven or Half-elven, and is covered in cuts and bruises and tattered and bloody clothes.
From this hill you can clearly see the large tent just North of your position, which appears to be guarded, unlike this prisoner. You can also see that the hill slopes back down toward the Eastern edge of the natural wall, and a cave entrance is visible.
To Hordkhen "Okay so I can conceal our movement (Pass without a Trace) I'm thinking there is no way we can convince the guards to take him anywhere without them calling higher ups over, and once we snatch him the entire camp will be on alert, but if i put up this veil it may give us a head start, also they are gonna notice the other prisoners' soon anyway, I'm asking your thoughts and am ready for a better plan but i think this is the move"
if Hordkhen agrees i cast pass without a trace and go with him to unbind the prisoner and run
if not i will respond again with the new information presented
Hordken nods in agreement with Place, but nods his head toward the cave, looking inquisitive, and wonders if that's where some of the towns loot is stashed. He whispers back to Place, "Sounds like a good idea. If you break away successfully we need to signal the others to get the horses and cart- and ride further around the whole camp cliff both to throw off persuit, and for me to scamper up the wall to meet you- i'll try a diversion, and see if I can get eyes on anything the town lost of value in the cave."
The prisoner eyes you again. "Wait, you're not cultists? You're infiltrators?" His face lights up with what little energy he has. "Before you get me out of here, I'm infiltrating as well. I intend to stay longer. While becoming a prisoner was not part of the original plan, it is working. They are saying things near me when they think I'm passed out. I have learned much, but I think I can learn more if I just stay a bit longer. My body may be beaten and weak, but my mind and will remain strong, I will not succumb to their torture, and I have already received more information from them than they from me."
He does appear physically weak and probably won't put up a fight if you take him out of the camp, although he requested to stay. Hordkhen and Place', what do you do?
